It's a little bit confusing, but I think the situation is: There's a dock, leading to a boat. There's a door on the boat, but there's a bit of deck between the dock and the door. When Andrezi stepped onto the deck, he almost fell through it and into the hold. So, there's a hole in the deck between us and the door. Or at least, there was, since we're now going down into the hole instead of making any more of them involuntarily. :)
Female Human Ranger 1
Let's discuss, since I'm worried that we're on different pages. I'm not trying to plunder Lamm's things, I'm trying to get into the boat in a way that doesn't risk me falling into the water. I am no acrobat, and I think I heard Sully mention a shark fin swimming around. If everyone else wants to risk the Acrobatics check to go in the door, I'll certainly follow suit after everyone else. Otherwise, going down in the hold and finding a safer way up is a perfectly legitimate strategy. While we're down there, if we can find evidence of further misdeeds, so much the better. Anything that will go toward making us look like heroes instead of vigilantes is probably a good thing.
Female Human Ranger 1
"Four arrows should do nicely, thank you. If I'm up here any longer than that, I'll simply block the doorway... Lamm won't escape this way while I have anything to say about it." After the Light spells have been cast, Lily takes a deep breath and fires an arrow into the hold, aiming where she last saw one of the skittering arachnids (or at one, if she can still see in the dim light provided by the plank). Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
"That should give you all some light, if nothing else."
Female Human Ranger 1
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19 "Down in the hold! Those are the biggest spiders I've ever SEEN! Did anyone else see them scuttle away when Andrezi dropped that board?" Lily looks uneasily at the door, and emits an audible *GULP*. "Nonetheless, it looks as though the hold might be the safe way in. I'd wade through Hell itself to bring vengeance to Lamm, a few spiders aren't likely to stand in my way," she says, steeling her resolve. "If Andrezi can light up a few of these arrows, I'll gladly provide cover from above, and light up the enemy in so doing. No pun intended," she snickers.
Female Human Ranger 1
Lily nods briskly to her companions. "Alright, then. Let's go get him. But remember, we were warned about the boards. Keep an eye out with me when we get there, it'd be just my luck to miss a loose board and have someone take a swim." When we arrive at the wharf, Lily will take 10 (for a 16) trying to spot loose or rotted boards and steering the party around them. I suppose we'll go out to the front of the place to get on the walkway, unless I hear any objections.
Female Human Ranger 1
"Certainly, Kovellus." Lily presses her ear against the boarded-up door, straining to hear anything other than the expected sound of water. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 Oh, dice gods, why have ye forsaken me? BTW, I need to do some updating to the party pot, and will definitely do so later tonight. That's one thing I can't do from work, no idea why. Sully: Just so I'm clear, how many gold did that cost the group?
Female Human Ranger 1
Lily gestures for the group to huddle. "Hey, listen - maybe we should give these kids a gold piece or two each? There's only a few of them, and we just forcibly took 16 shiny coins from the dearly departed. It might help them to feel a bit less hopeless... Just a thought, really. Would anyone object?" "Oh, and either of those westernmost doors is as good as the the other for going ahead. The other leads out to the wharf." She shrugs to indicate her indifference.
Female Human Ranger 1
As she steps back down from the catwalk to relay what she hears, Lily gestures to the half-orc's gear. "Are we actually taking all the flails and the armor? I'm sure I could carry some of it, by I'm not inclined to carry four sets of smelly fish armor. Not ladylike, don't you see. What would grandmother say?" For now, I've updated the pot with all the weapons and armor. If nobody volunteers to actually carry this stuff, though, I'm going to remove it from the list, or at least Comment it so that we can pick it up as we leave.

Lily glances at the children and quickly sheathes her greatsword. She quickly moves to recover her bow, and without futher discussion moves to listen at doors. Perception: (Door 1, the first one I come to): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 Perception: (Door 2): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 Curse all this sloshing water, she thinks to herself. I can't hear a thing.

Round 2 Actions: Assuming any of them are alive by my turn in the initiative... :) Seeing the half-orc's assault on her newfound friends clearly enrages Lily. Her Longbow falls to the floor, and she angrily approaches the remaining foe, Greatsword flashing out in a wide arc. Power Attack --> Greatsword: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 1 = 14 (Includes Bless)
I may be able to flank, as well - not quite sure of the layout as things are right now.

I just caught up on this game and I have to say... Naz, those are some of THE WORST ROLLS I have ever seen! Let's hope Cardon fares much, MUCH better!! Sorry, but I am seriously cracking up over here! Hell of an appraise check, though! Happy adventuring, folks!! You're a fun read, as I expected :) Edit: And along the same lines, Alex, bring some of that rolling over to our CotCT game, lol.
Female Human Ranger 1
Lily sneers as she moves away from the door to the East. "He's got more kids in that room. Kovellus, do me a favor; kick the door open and give me a shot with this," she pulls out her bow and nocks an arrow. "The casters and I should be able to get the jump on them." Ranged Attack on the first adult I see, Compound Longbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16, Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Edit: That's an 18 to hit and 7 damage if he's a human, Sully.

The Party Pot is available here. I didn't mind the movie, although I have to say, the way they made the suit look and the fact that Downey plays Stark combined means that they could probably make a complete turd of a movie and I'd still love it. Ol' Shell-head was my favorite Marvel character since childhood - I was ALWAYS the only kid who would name him as my favorite. I can't believe how great the suit looks and I love Downey as Stark, so it's been pretty much a dream come true to see both of these movies. It wasn't as good as the first one, I'll give you that, but I liked it quite a lot regardless. I am less than sold on Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury - the jury's still very much out on that for me.

OK, so, who's our treasurer? I'll do it if nobody else wants to. Also, in case it's not clear: >Take Pouches Lily notices Andrezi listening at doors. "If you'd like, I can try as well. Father always says I have the most uncanny ability to hear customers entering our shop when he and I are both sitting in the back room." Perception: Double Doors: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23, East Wall: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Female Human Ranger 1
Lily nods in Kovellus's general direction, and promptly drags the man from the entrance room into the second room. She deftly ties the Gnome to the man, and places them both in a corner. She glances around, helping Tosk look the room over for anything of use before the group departs. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 If that cabinet is empty or can be used for such a thing, Lily will throw the Gnome and the man into it. If not, it's in the corner with them.
Female Human Ranger 1
As Kovellus reaches for the door, Lily nods perceptably. Glancing toward Andrezi, she adds, "I agree that more robust tactics can be effective in many circumstances. In these close quarters, though, anyone who extends too far beyond the rest of the group is likely only to imperil themselves."
Female Human Ranger 1
Round Three Action Lily securely binds the man, and stuffs an empty Sack in his mouth to keep him quiet. I'm sure this would actually take a wee bit longer than 6 seconds, so, however long it takes. Seeing Cardon's efforts to save the dog, Lily flings her arms around him."Thank you, oh thank you!" she cries. She moves to inspect the creature, running her fingers through it's fur. Is it being properly fed and cared for?
Female Human Ranger 1
Lily grits her teeth, rears back, and takes a wild overhead swing at the canine nearest her. "I'm sorry," she whispers solemnly. Greatsword Power Attack on the dog in M9: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 Wow, that luck's going to run out soon, I'm sure. Roll to confirm crit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6. Right, I crit but can't confirm! Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 4) + 7 = 12 Still recovering from her attack on the beast, she reaches into her pack, pulling out a length of hemp rope. This provokes an AoO from the dog, if he's still alive.
Female Human Ranger 1
Sully, for purposes of determining what Lily's doing in combat if for some reason you want to move things along and I don't get a post in quickly (not that I anticipate that happening too much, but...): Lily will attack targets that are not threatened in Melee as long as such targets exist and she has a decent line of sight to them. If all targets are engaged in Melee, she will engage in melee using her Greatsword. She tries to avoid firing into melee, as she is not trained to do so, and would prefer going toe-to-toe with opponents alongside her companions if it comes to that.

Kovellus Vossare wrote: You have BAB+1, which lets you combine those two actions with a standard action remaining if you wish. Sorry about all the OOC talk, everyone. "Sheathing" my bow = move equivalent action (per pg. 183, Core Rules), actually moving inside the building and drawing my Greatsword while doing so = standard action converted to a move, no actions left. If I could just drop my Bow, I'd be fine, but I paid too much for it to just drop it on the street! :D

Kovellus Vossare wrote: Using my action to pin and silence the man, I don't have enough actions left for a CMB check to move the man inside. Next turn it was my intention to do so. I know. In my tabletop game, with people I am familiar with, I'd have just bull rushed the guard while you were grappling him and saved you the trouble. With someone I don't know, I'm going to not do that. Besides, who can guess what mechanics would be involved with bull rushing a person who is being grappled by another person? What a nightmare. It's just roleplaying Lily's desire to not get hauled off to jail by the town guard, that's all :) Sully, if we're using that map (which is great, by the way), I'll need to adapt my action to simply move inside the door and change over to my Greatsword (need Quick Draw!!) rather than attacking. If the dogs are in a position to attack right away, I wouldn't be firing a ranged weapon. I pictured the room as bigger than it was, I suppose. If you'll allow that.
Female Human Ranger 1
Lily clenches her jaw firmly and shakes her head. She does not have a shot on the dogs, with Kovellus pinning the man in the doorway. She is saddened by the need to shoot the dogs at all, as they are merely serving their purpose in the city's ecosystem, but she sees that they are clearly too aggressive to approach. (free action) "Kovellus, inside, please!" Lily will delay her turn. If the doorway becomes clear, she will move inside the room (to the side of the door) and loose an arrow at one of the dogs. Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Edit: Oh man! Crit Confirmation: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Oh well, so close.

Having never seen this Gaedren Lamm he is after, he will wait until he is indentified by someone else. Ditto, only, I'm drawing my bow. I will not nock an arrow, but simply carry the bow in hand.

Would it be safe to assume that all of us that needed to secure our gear did so when I did? I'd think it rather counterproductive for us to go in shifts. And at any rate, I think Sully has moved us to the Fishery, since Kovellus's action was to "...quietly check the door (when we arrive)." Lily is as anxious as anyone to move to the Fishery straight away. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 As the group moves out of the Seer's home, Lily sidles up next to Andrezi. (Under her breath) "I see that we have similar motivations for wanting to see Lamm rot. Let us win this fight for them, that they will not have died in vain." As the group approaches the Fishery, Lily notices Kovellus's attempt on the door. "As the front door seems to be inaccessable, perhaps there is another way in... a service entrance perhaps." Lily moves to reconnoiter the building, as quickly and quietly as possible. Perception (on the building): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Lily wonders, not for the first time, what harm her young nobleman from the shop ever did to Gaedran Lamm that caused him to wind up dead on the street. Or rather, what he found out about Lamm. Judging from the presence of others here in this room and the words of the soothsayer who brought all these people together, it seems to Lily that Gaedran's misdeeds extend far beyond simple murder. "For my part, I will gladly extend whatever aid I can to those who work to thwart and malign Gaedran Lamm. If you will excuse me, I've come to a swordfight unarmed. I'll need to go to my home and retrieve my weaponry. I shall return henceforth. So that you know that I do not go forth to sell this group out, take this." She draws forth a plain but beautiful ring on a chain beneath her jerkin. "This ring was, I suspect, to be my wedding ring one day. The young nobleman who bought it, whom I loved..." Her voice trails off, and her eyes grow distant. When they return to the collective gaze of the gathered party, they are steely with resolve. "...was murdered by that filth." She places the chain on the table, gets up and leaves quickly. Sully, I'll return as quickly as I can, stopping only to write a note to my father explaining that I may be out late, and not to worry. It simply seems unlikely that Lily, who is not a professional fighter, would have brought more than just her leather jerkin to a meeting in a residential home. I doubt I'll be gone more than twenty minutes or so, unless circumstances dictate otherwise. Also, I hope I've not overstepped my starting wealth boundries by fluffing in the bit about the ring. It's fluff only, never to be sold or used in any way other than to further the storyline.
