(Campaign) Black Chamber Operative: You have been trained in the Black Chamber's enhanced interrogation techniques. Once per day, you can cast detect thoughts as a spell-like ability. This only works on a single target, who is aware of it, and is painful for them. DC for Will Save is 10 + 1/2 character level + your Cha modifier.
(Combat) : Black Powder Fortune: As long as you are wielding a firearm, you gain a +2 trait bonus on all saving throws against curse, fear, and emotion effects.

Subject 29567-A arrived escorted by Immigration Officials from Ellis Island. Subject attempted to smuggle a Russian-made firearm through customs upon immigration processing. When authorities attempted to confiscate the firearm, Subject flew into hysteria and shouted incoherently in Russian, repeating the phrase “Bolshoy Brat.” Subject in-processed and placed into Ward 3 Isolation. Blackwell Island Asylum Special Case File 29567-A – Dated: July 12, 1929
Ever since Subject 29567-A arrived, doctors and guards have reported seeing strange floating lights and ghostly apparitions in Ward 3. Subject continues to repeat “Bolshoy Brat” and nothing else when questioned. According to the Russian translator, “Bolshoy Brat” means “Big Brother.” It is unclear who this “Big Brother” is as Subject did not arrive with any others.

Black Chamber Official Report on Operative Vědma discovered amongst WWII archived documents.
Little is known about the Black Chamber operative known as Operative Vědma, also known as Liliya Vasikova, before her arrival to Ellis Island in 1929. She arrived via ship with nothing but the clothes on her back and a battered Mosin-Nagant rifle that she tried to smuggle through the customs. When the authorities attempted to confiscate the firearm, Liliya began shouting about her Bolshoy Brat, or Big Brother, and was committed to the former Blackwell Island Asylum. After getting word from the asylum management about possible magic usage, Operatives were sent to investigate and potentially recruit, neutralize if necessary. They brought with them the confiscated rifle as a bargaining chip. Once she was reunited with her rifle she was more than willing to cooperate with the Organization.
She claims she was born in a small hamlet in Russia sometime in 1915 and lived in an orphanage for most of her life. Details are sparse, but it is believed the brother she refers to is not in fact a relative, but a brotherly figure who looked out for her in the orphanage. At some point he fought for and then defected from the Bolshevik Red Army. It is believed that this individual was killed and his spirit infused into the rifle that Liliya calls her “Bolshoy Brat.” Although these claims seem farfetched, personal comments of her superiors and other agents point to this being more truth than fairy tale. It has been observed that she actually talks to and has seemingly one-sided conversations with her rifle.
Liliya knew practically no English when she was recruited. During her time with the Black Chamber she learned not only to speak English fluently, but she is also proficient in German and French. Her skills in the occult magics are improving at a tremendous rate.
She is an intelligent and competent person, albeit sometimes standoffish. She seems to consider other Black Chamber Operatives she is partnered with for long durations as extended family members and will protect them at all costs. It is noted, however, that she has a severe dislike of Bolshevik Soviets and will only reluctantly work alongside members of the Razvedka if ordered to do so.
