Appearance and Personality:
Lilah is unremarkable in appearance except for having one blue eye and one brown. She generally tries to hide this by leaving her hair hanging over half of her face. She stands under 5 feet tall with long dark hair and pale skin that seems to defy the sun's tanning influence, no matter how much time she spends outside. The shape of her face has slight elven hints. She's soft spoken and rarely makes eye contact, often cringing when others raise their voice. She dresses in simple huntsman's clothing, her only obvious weapon being a battered old longbow and a variety of arrows. The clothing carefully hides a number of scars from severe beating when she was younger.
Lilah is a shy girl, used to being ignored at best, but more often mistreated by those around her. While she does ok out of melee combat, if directly threatened, she's likely to try running away. When cornered, she tends to panic. When this happens, her innate abilities tend to kick in, transforming her physical shape and turning her into a wild beast of some kind. When this happens, she forgets her surroundings and viciously attack anything that threatens her.
Background:
Like most changlings, she was left by her parents to be raised by strangers who lived on the border between Brass and Copper dragon lands. Her life was fairly happy, if poor, until she was about 5, at which point she started minor shapechanging, taking on cat ears or gaining a fox's tail. Convinced that this was a sign of the devil, they sold her to a circus.
The circus consisted of people mostly from the Brass dragon territory, and the owners were cruel masters. They put her on display, and though they traveled between both sides of the content, most of their time was spent on the Brass dragon side. As such, it was not uncommon for Lilah to have bottles or rocks thrown at her. It was during this time that the call to find her mother and find out her true heritage came. Imprisoned as she was, there was no way for her to heed the call. She didn't even really understand what it was she was feeling.
One day shortly after her 15th birthday, the circus she was in happened to be in the Copper dragon territory. The lord of the land had been wandering about in human form to investigate disturbances along the border to his lands. Seeing her emaciated, scarred form, he took pity on her, paying for her freedom and dropping her off at a house to be nursed back to health. When he returned he found her healed in body, but not in spirit. Lost without a master, and grateful for his thus far kind treatment of her, she swore loyalty to him, becoming a scout for him. And though she is happier, she is still unaware of her changling heritage and feels a strange emptiness, like something is missing from her life.
