M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

"You are welcome," Ler'Zet replies as Frog lets Ealykam up. "Now, let uss ssee to thiss farmer, yess?"

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

I'd say let's get everyone back together quickly, yes, but not necessarily entirely skip taking care of the aftermath.

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Yes, definitely.

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Ler'Zet frowns slightly as he continues working on Ealykam's arm. "Sstrange... ssomething musst have changed..." he murmurs.

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Ler'Zet laughs, an odd, hissing sound. "Why would I do ssomething like that?" he asks.

He reaches down and pulls up some of the egg-grass, carefully breaking them at their joints.

"I am ssurprised the dogs attacked," he comments as he begins working. "Usually they would not attack ssomething sso large as a cart, esspecially after being attacked in return. Perhapss they are ssimply dessperate."

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Ler'Zet looks back up and nods slightly. "I can help, but you will have to be brave. The wound is bad enough to need stitching. Thiss here will ssuffisse for sstiches, but it will not be pleasant. Are you ready?"

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Heal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Ler'Zet shakes his head slightly. "It is not broken, but the wound is deep. Keep presssure on it until it sstopss bleeding."

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Ler'Zet makes no effort to catch the car, figuring the driver must have good reason for not letting him in. Instead he looks over to the crying child.

"Peasse, child. Let me ssee the wound."

Knowing his appearance can be frightening, he lowers himself until he is at eye level with the young hochi as he approaches.

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Any way to guess where the best place to catch them is?

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Hearing the call for the car, Ler'Zet slithers back towards it, hoping to get in before it leaves.

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Ler'Zet fires on the nearest dog that's still attacking someone.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Ah, it's hard for me to picture what's going on with so many moving pieces at once. Could I fire on one of the dogs around Nab?

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Know (nature): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Noting the dog trying to sneak up on one of the hotchi, Ler'Zet nocks an arrow and lets fly at it.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Ler'Zet rears up, lifting himself as high as he dares. He hisses threateningly at the dogs, trying to scare them off by playing on their natural fears.

Not sure if this is Handle Animal or Intimidate... so I'll roll the one I have trained.

Handle Animal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Ler'Zet nods back at the raven. "Travel is good, yes," he says, turning back to Lyra. "I too will be glad to see deeper into the desert than I have before."

Ler'Zet watches the interaction with his unblinking, ophidian gaze. "I am Ler'Zet," he says, looking over at Lyra. "There is always something of interest in the land, if one looks close enough. Familiarity can make one blind to what one sees."

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

I can, I'll just be scarce until the evening (EST).

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

We could just keep adding to our intro document, alternatively.

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Ler'Zet nimbly slithers out of the car and takes the scene in, noting the child running off to the side. He moves to follow.

"It sseems they have losst one of their animals," he comments to the others, in explanation for why he is going off the side of the road.

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Given Ler'Zet's move speed is 20', I think he should ride in the car... :D Though I don't recall, he might be able to keep up with the car at 4 mph.

Ler'Zet looks at the group and then the car. "Perhaps I might rid partly on the outsside, or ssimply sslither mysself, should thiss... vehicle become too crowded."

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Appearance:
Ler'Zet looks like some form of thick desert snake, with a serpentine body over ten feet long and several inches thick. His scales are clearly meant to blend in with sand, patterned as they are with various yellows and browns. A pair of arms is the only thing interrupting his ophidian appearance. He wears a simple harness that holds his pack and weapons on his back.

Ler'Zet looks over the now-assembled group, his unblinking ophidian stare taking each member in as he turns his head. A most interesting group, though from the elders' tales, far from the strangest to ever travel from Sarkeslion.

"Ssun's warmth to you," he says, his voice soft and dry. "Perhapss we should begin the introductions onsse we are on our way."

M Snakefolk Ranger (Guide, Skirmisher) 1

Sure, sounds good! Is Ler'Zet supposed to be the 'snake-like humanoid' getting in the car?

Hello everyone! My apologies, I'm generally not on the boards on Sundays, so I'm a bit late to the party. :D

Ler'Zet here is first and foremost an outdoorssnake. He's got good survival, and has Knowledge (Nature) and (Geography) trained, as well as most of the movement-type skills. This is going to be his first major solo expedition (solo as in, not with one of the more experienced guides from his tribe), so he's going to be working hard to keep any of you from getting killed by the wilderness.

He's a ranger with a bit more dexterity than strength, but he can do decently well at a range or in melee. His big weakness in melee is that he doesn't have any armor--he slithers around on his belly but then raises up to 'stand', so it's hard for him to wear armor on his vulnerable chest--so he may be interested in getting mage armor cast on him.

He views the wilderness with a mix of practicality and reverential awe, both of which he'll probably be trying to teach the rest of you. I figure he'll join the group as a guide, whether hired or because he overhears you and volunteers. He'd very much like to take a journey out far beyond the city... possibly even never to return. There's so much world to see out there, after all.

There, tweaks made. Let me know if everything looks good now.
