About Leotian Mousekewitz
Leotian's parents were slaves in Chelifax, Leo was thankfully spared that life. As soon as he was born his parents planned an escape to Whisperwoods, in the hopes that the hellish reputation would keep the master from giving chase. They intended to follow the River Iseld up into Isger, or perhaps across to Andoran, anywhere as long as they were free from the slavers. Even the best laid plans fall apart, the master caught wind of the plan, and Leotian's family had to make their escape post haste. They left in the middle of the night, and by morning their master already had trackers on their trail. By the time they made the river the the trackers were all over them. Leo's father was already caught, his mother, carrying him, tried to dive into the river hopefully lose them in the waters, but one of the hunters roped her around the ankles and yanked her back. The sudden pull jarred Leo from her arms and he tumbled into the river. The trackers were only hired to bring back the two slaves, they paid no attention to the infant floating down the river.
The halfings and their persuers weren't the only ones in the forest that morning, a young paladin of named Alusys heard the baby crying, and followed the noise the the river. She fished Leo out of the river and took him with her out of the forest. Alusys travelled north with little Leo doing her best to care for him until she found a suitable home. She found the home on the edge of Duskshroud forest with the Mousekewitz family, a kind human couple with no children of their own. They were followers of Erastil she knew they would take good care of him.
Mr. and Mrs. Mousekewitz cared for Leo as if he were their very own, despite being of a different race. They taught him how to live with nature, how to hunt and live without the constraints of modern civilization. Leotian took to their teaching like a fish to water, and proved especially adept with the bow.
When Leotian came of age he decided he needed to find his biological parents, if they were still alive. His adoptive parents had told him of the young Paladin Alusys, and explained that she followed Iomedae, she was the only lead they had on his real parents he'd have to seek her out to find out more. So Leotian set out to find the elusive paladin.
