You gain a +1 trait bonus on Knowledge (religion) checks, and Knowledge (religion) is a class skill for you. If you cast divine spells, pick three spells on your spell list. You are particularly adept at casting these spells, so they function at +1 caster level when you cast them, and their save DCs (if any) gain a +1 bonus.

Special Abilities

Divine Hunter Bonus Feat (Precise Shot) The Divine Hunters gains the benefits of Precise Shot as a bonus feat at level 1.

Aura of Good (Ex) The power of a paladin's aura of good (see the detect good spell) is equal to her paladin level.

Detect Evil (Sp) At will, a paladin can use detect evil, as the spell. A paladin can, as a move action, concentrate on a single item or individual within 60 feet and determine if it is evil, learning the strength of its aura as if having studied it for 3 rounds. While focusing on one individual or object, the paladin does not detect evil in any other object or individual within range.

Smite Evil (Su) Once per day, a paladin can call out to the powers of good to aid her in her struggle against evil. As a swift action, the paladin chooses one target within sight to smite. If this target is evil, the paladin adds her Cha bonus (if any) to her attack rolls and adds her paladin level to all damage rolls made against the target of her smite. If the target of smite evil is an outsider with the evil subtype, an evil-aligned dragon, or an undead creature, the bonus to damage on the first successful attack increases to 2 points of damage per level the paladin possesses. Regardless of the target, smite evil attacks automatically bypass any DR the creature might possess.

In addition, while smite evil is in effect, the paladin gains a deflection bonus equal to her Charisma modifier (if any) to her AC against attacks made by the target of the smite. If the paladin targets a creature that is not evil, the smite is wasted with no effect.

The smite evil effect remains until the target of the smite is dead or the next time the paladin rests and regains her uses of this ability. At 4th level, and at every three levels thereafter, the paladin may smite evil one additional time per day, as indicated on Table: Paladin, to a maximum of seven times per day at 19th level.

Bonus Feat Humans select one extra feat at 1st level.

Skilled Humans gain an additional skill rank at first level and one additional rank whenever they gain a level.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency A paladin is proficient with all simple and martial weapons and with all armor (heavy, medium, and light) and shields (including tower shields).

Backstory
--------------------
It always began the same, a strange star in the night’s sky hovering above the sleepy village of Sandpoint. Then slowly, a blanket of fog would roll in across the city, and with them, she could see shadows moving through the mist. The people of the town, paid them no mind, even when the shadows reached up and snatched them into darkness, they didn’t even scream.

She wanted to help them, to rush down the mountain side she found herself viewing the events from and save these people. But this time, like every other, the moment she took a step forward she felt a terrible clawed hand grasp her neck from behind and felt the sting of steel in her back and then ---

Lemona shot up in her bed, drenched in sweat. The same nightmare, it had plagued her for nearly a week now, always the same. She looked out her bedroom window to glorious Magnimar shining even at this hour of the night in bronze and fire.

An only child, Lemona was the apple of her parent’s eyes. Growing up amongst the nobility of Magnimar, she found herself entertaining rooms of important townsfolk at a very young age. She had a natural talent for appealing to the better side of people.

However her parents noted, the young girl had a bit of a wild streak in her, and a temper that was quick to flare and unbecoming. When she was twelve they enlisted her into the church to be trained as a paladin. Secretly, her parents never intended to leave her there, but they figured a year or two of harsh discipline would help reel the girl in.

However to the paladins of the church, they had found a valuable resource indeed. While unruly when presented with nothing to do, Lemona was a fierce worker when given a task, practically unrelenting and her mentors became quick admirers. Rather than to control her anger, the church of Ragathiel taught her to focus it.

That all was wrong with the world sprang forth from the works of evil, and that rather than waste her loathing and temper upon those merely responding to such evil in a misguided way, she should direct it towards the cause of the problem, not the symptom.

When her mother and father came to reclaim her on her fourteenth birthday, she flatly refused. In time, her parents came to accept Lemona’s choice and had to admit to themselves that she had grown into a fine young woman.

Swinging her feet out of bed the lithe figure with long brown hair made her way to her dresser. Inside she began to assemble her possessions; her trusty bow, a gift on her 17th Birthday from her parents when she was accepted as an initiate in the paladin order. Her Lucerne Hammer, she had used it to defeat her first undead not even some six months ago.

Lemona gathered her things in quiet contemplation. This dream – this nightmare, it was an omen, she was sure of it. Something unnatural was going on in Sandpoint and it called out to her, she was oathbound to seek out this threat, and see it destroyed, thus were the teachings of Ragathiel.
