Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Of course I am :)

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

No worries, it's all part of the game :) I'll PM you with my new character soon :)

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

If Lex is going to die, I do have a Sylph witch I think would be good for this campaign that I've been working on, if Fipps and Narwhal have death in mind for my now unconscious elf :)

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Uh-oh... that puts Lex at 10 lethal damage. He's down. Time to roll a new character? lol

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

What's the matter, Fipps? Lose yer nerve after trying to get the jump on me?

Lex will, for now, however, go for Narwahl who is attacking him.

Attack Roll 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Damage Roll 1d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 = 4 (+1 for Judgement)

His quip to Fipps must have distracted him, as his thrust isn't even close to Narwahl.

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Besmara's curse on ye, then! A smell like gunpowder enters the room as Lex calls upon his judgement of destruction (swift action: +1 to damage rolls) He again thrusts the dagger at Fipps.

Attack Roll 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage Roll 1d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 = 5

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Yeah I kinda guessed ;-)

Seeing the bloodlust in their eyes, Lex hits the switch on his wrist sheath (swift action) releasing his masterwork dagger and without word thrusts his dagger at Fipps.

Attack Roll 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Damage Roll 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Ye accursed fools, ye fancy yerselves tougher than Owlbear? Ye fancy yerselves better than ye were my second day?

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

That's alright, 4 NLD is still effectively almost half my HP assuming I don't want to be knocked unconscious. :)

Perception Check 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

So they mean to attack me again, do they? Coming down here armed right after Plugg tried to disarm me completely?

Lex works in equal silence.

I hope we're not the only two left in this campaign, GM...

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Lex, still fuming, marches down to the bilges without another word. His wound bleeds and stings him fiercely, so once belowdecks out of Plugg's sight he sighs and chants an incantation and touches the wound.

Casting Cure Light Wounds 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

The wound knits fully, and he goes down to the bilges without any further delays.

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

He curses as foul as he can in Aquan as they take his rapier, the blade of his revenge against the slavers who killed his wife. Keeping his wits about him, though, he wiggles his sleeves to more thoroughly hide his wrist sheath.

Stealth Check 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 2 = 17 (the wrist sheath gives a +2 to checks to hide it)

Besmara curse you! You will be granted eternal life chained to this bloody ship's anchor at the bottom of the sea and sharks and horrors of the deep will tear your flesh every bloody day! he shouts, hoping the curse will intimidate if not Plugg and Scourge, maybe some of their faithful, and that the resulting ruckus will help hide his dagger, his now only weapon.

Intimidate Check--can't hurt lol 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Sense Motive Check 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 Of all the times to roll a 1...

Lex laughs at their strong suggestion to hold his weapons. A pirate never parts with his weapons. If a little bilgewater would rust it, it would have done so long ago. He will not give his weapons to Plugg and Scourge, but if pressed will put his rapier into his locker or entrust it to Thea, Marn, Avakor, or Sandara if they are willing. He will keep his masterwork dagger where it is, in his wrist sheath.

On his way to the bilges with Narwhal and Fipps, he growls. I haven't forgotten that stunt you tried to pull my second morning. Got nothing to say to you, so just shut up and pump the bilges and we'll get along fine.

Intimidate Check 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Sorry, it didn't show a new post was available and I stopped clicking anyway and checking for new posts myself like a week ago. I'll post in a few :)

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Just wondering are you going to recruit someone to take Aldon/Lucanus's spot or are we playing on without a 5th player?

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Welcome back!

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Where'd everyone go?

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Just realized I took way more than 3 tries lol. Even if you don't count the times I failed at the first check, it still took until my 4th trip to "succeed". Then again none of us are great climbers lol...

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

After returning from the reeclaw attack, Lex stowed his buckler, trident and net in his locker and retrieved his rapier back.

At the prospect of climbing again, the skin on Lex's neck goosebumps. Well at least this time the ocean will catch me rather than the hard deck...

Attack and Climb Checks:

Attack Roll 1d20 + 3 - 6 ⇒ (2) + 3 - 6 = -1
Lex curses as he drops his grappling hook as he was about to throw it.
Attack Roll 1d20 + 3 - 6 ⇒ (18) + 3 - 6 = 15 Lex grapples successfully and ties of the rope and begins climbing.
Climb Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Climb Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10 FALL
Lex swims back to the boat and tries again.

Climb Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Climb Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 FALL
.
Climb Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 FALL

Climb Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10 FALL

Climb Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16 1/4
Climb Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11 2/4
Climb Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19 3/4
Climb Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 FALL

Climb Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 FALL

Climb Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21 1/4
Climb Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15 2/4
Climb Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18 3/4
Climb Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19 4/4 Success?

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Heartened by a solid meal of crab and reefclaw, Lex tries once again to regale the crew with one of Besmara's tales, this time telling about how Besmara herself managed to sail into the Maelstrom for the first time.

Perform (oratory) Check 1d20 ⇒ 17

Finally! A decent roll lol

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Have fun! I just got accepted to a RotRL campaign, so with that and our two groups here, I think I'm about maxed out on groups as well. :)

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Oh, forgive me. Let me help you, Marn. Lex swims over to Marn and Avakor and tries to help him fight off the poison as well.

Heal Check 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Damn things! Are they edible? They look alright, bit like a giant lobster, as long as we get the poisonous barbs off them. Can you use any of those for your alchemy, Marn?

Lex spends a few minutes picking the seaweed out of his trident, the only thing he'd managed to hit all day.

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Quit squirming! Lex grunts in frustration, treading water as he readies another trident strike and thrusts.

Attack Roll 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 + 1 = 10
Damage Roll 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Slippery little things! Lex grumbles and strikes again.

Attack Roll 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 = 7
Damage Roll 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

His trident spears a floating clump of seaweed, but nothing else.

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Besmara, smite these monsters! Lex thunders swift action activating Justice judgment (+1 to hit).

Attack Roll 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 + 1 = 11
Damage Roll 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Mediocre attack roll and minimum damage roll LOL

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

I'm coming Avakor! Lex, buckler on one arm and trident in the other, swims toward him.

How far are they? I can swim 15 feet as a full-round action, or 7.5 as a move action. If I can get to them in one move action, I'll melee attack Avakor's reefclaw with the trident, otherwise I'll swim toward them with a full-round action.
Attack Roll 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Damage Roll 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

I figured but didn't want to waste an action since I can't draw a weapon and move as part of the same action, so... I just realized I could have moved over to Marn instead of readying the attack. Oh well. C'est la vie.

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Knowledge (nature) Check 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 (1 Int + 3 Wis, which I get to add thanks to inquisitor's Monster Lore :)

Reefclaws! They''re poisonous! Lex yells as he draws his trident (move action)
and prepares to strike at the reefclaws. (Readied action to attack a reefclaw entering into a threatened square.)

Attack Roll for Readied Attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Damage Roll 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

I don't plan on using them all at the same time silly! Trident is one-handed so I can use it with the buckler. :)

Indeed, Lady Sandara, indeed. Fine day for fishing. Lex will take a pot before jumping in and swimming to the reef.

OK here are my rolls. My racial trait Spirit of the Waves enables me to always be able to take 10 on Swim checks, so I will do so. I have a +10 but with my armor and buckler I have a +8. That combined with my +10 in perception ensures success lol.

Perception Check #1 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Swim Check (Taking 10) (10)+8 = 18
Lex spots a crab hiding in the shallows and grabs it.

Perception Check #2 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Swim Check (Taking 10) (10)+8 = 18
The second crab doesn't have a chance as Lex's keen eyes spot him at once. He swims down a puts a second crab in their pot.

Perception Check #3 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Swim Check (Taking 10) (10)+8 = 18
The third and final crab was spotted and snagged, which, with Thea's, completely fills their first pot.

It seems my net was unnecessary. These crabs don't put up much of a fight!

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Keep forgetting my buckler...Lex will grab that too :-)

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Lex waits until Plugg is out of sight before breaking into a large smile. Finally a chance to get off the ship! Lemme grab my trident and net. He slings his trident and net onto his back and removes his rapier and scabbard from his belt and his spring-loaded wrist sheath and stows them in his locker. He ejects the dagger and puts it in a sheath on his belt. Then he scurries back on deck, waiting for the others to finish their preparations.

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Oh yes please!!!! Thanks :)
Ship Action: Entertain

Lex, seeing Aldon's mumbling through his story, jumps up and decides to draw attention away from him by recounting a story about a miracle in which Chelish warships were closing in on a devout pirate ship crying out to Besmara for mercy, who answered with a school of sea serpents which disabled the ships, allowing the pirates to plunder them before the serpents scuttled the ships. (Assuming my roll is bad enough, that is actually just about word for word how he tells it :)

Perform (oratory) Check 1d20 ⇒ 12

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Profession (sailor) Check 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Day 10
Rum Ration: Ditch
Stealth Check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Ship Action: Steal* (Night)

Lex attempts to sneak into the galley at night and exchanges his own dagger for the masterwork dagger he saw being used as a butcher's knife. If the doors are locked, he instead uses his action to Sneak and take 20 on a Perception check around the cargo hold.

Stealth Check 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Well crap. Hopefully the door was locked...

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Day 9
Job: Scrub Those Decks!
Fatigued! -1 to Check
Strength* Check 1d20 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 - 1 = 9
*Ironically, scrubbing the decks is not a Dex check.
Ship Action: Sneak: The Galley

Lex is too tired to put any special effort into his work. He decides to take a quick look around the galley to see if there is anything appetizing or valuable around, maybe if he's lucky a potion of not-being-so-stinking-tiredness.

Perception Check 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

Finally a good roll! BTW you said we need a Constitution check right?
1d20 ⇒ 11

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

LOL Thea

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Lex grabs the rope with the others and starts pulling. Heave!

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

I could easily worship Pharasma instead, and say he has joined the church delegation to do his job as a doctor, healing the wounded and performing last rites to the dead, helping them make their way to the Boneyard and preventing their rise as undead.

BTW how young is young? Are we going by the age of adulthood by race (40 years for dwarves) or like 16 years or so regardless of race?

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Good thing Will is Lex's best save...
Will Save 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Day 8 - Evening
Job: Work that Line!
Profession (sailor) Check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Constitution Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Ship Action: Work Diligently->Constitution Check

The biscuit--though soggy and unappetizing--seems to quicken Lex's spirit, and he pursues his new task with vigor.

At seeing the unconscious Avakor, Lex will run over and murmur an incantation and wave his hands over him.

Cure Light Wounds 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

His ears perk up at the call of "man overboard" and rushes over with the others to see who it is.
Perception Check 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Damn, Aldon, be careful. Lex will take hold of something of Aldon's and cast Light on it. Wave the light at us when you want us to pull you up.

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

I think I'll be a dwarf cleric probably of Sarenrae rather than the oracle. Cleric is far superior to oracle of life at healing and combat, and dwarves are perfect as clerics. I'm thinking he was caught by a slaver and passed through various masters before they discovered his healing powers and "volunteered" him to be a combat medic possibly so the master could avoid being press ganged himself. So long as he heals their soldiers, they probably don't care too much who he prays to, I reckon. I'd be taking the church trait.

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Day 8
Profession (sailor) Check 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Job: Repair the Rigging!
Climb Check Take 10 -> 11
Profession (sailor) Check 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Ship Action: Influence (Conchobhar Shortstone)

The storm shook Lex far more than it should have for an experienced sailor like himself... maybe seeing Motaku yesterday had done more to him than he thought. Irritated at himself for his poor work and lack of concentration, he confronts Shortstone up in the rigging.

Shortstone! Can't imagine you're too happy with me after my bout with Owlbear. Next time you'd better throw in with me and my lot. You saw what happened to Plugg's goon and those who bet against me, or else you might end up broke in more than just your wallet, Lex growls.

Intimidate Check 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

DANG IT. I suck at influence rolls. Maybe I'll let the cute halfling try to get people over to our side from now on.

EDIT: I suck at all my rolls in this post, actually.

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Oh yeah, in that case instead of asking for the buckler...

Sorry, Grok. Guess I don't need anything you have right now. I'll let you know if I change my mind in those potions. Here's a silver for your time. Lex hands her 1 sp.

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

I'll have an alias up soon for my character. I may go with the oracle of life instead of nature since we don't yet have a healer. Easily enough reflavored to an act of violence that caused the curse (perhaps violence with a tool on a holy man and thus cursed to break them). Probably take the church trait then.

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Actually, Grok, I think I'm fine with my own spell for healing, and the other two are a bit out of my price range. More mundane gear will have to do. Do ye have any bucklers? I'd like to prepare myself for any fightin' that's coming. Well, any fightin' that allows gear that is. Lex laughs and winks, and pulls out the money purse from the fight with Owlbear.

If she does have a buckler, he'll buy it.

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Hmm alright then probably the wizard's apprentice one sounds better for the character I was thinking of. Maybe after being cursed he was sent by his parents to live with the wizard to see if the wizard could teach him to control his curse and use its power. Seems the wizard wasn't too helpful with that, but what do you expect from an ancient mage spending hours studying who--let's face it--is probably trying to become a lich. By taking care of the ravens I'm probably helping him send in order forms for "Phylacteries for Dummies" or something.

Also, I got I found the answer to my armor question in the Ask James Jacobs thread:

James Jacobs wrote:

"Held" means precisely that—held in your hand.

A shield would be affected by the ability, but worn armor would not be.

Wrecker is intended to affect shields, weapons, and items you carry and use in your hands (like wands, staves, and rods). Ask James Jacob Thread

So you were right Marn. I'll probably just take the Improved Unarmed Strike feat then and not dip into monk. :)

What say you DM? Sound good? I have other character ideas floating around too, that's just the most interesting one IMO.

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

It was a prayer I wrote myself about my wife. We used to live on that isle Motaku. Besmara bless her. Sing it every year on the anniversary, and if my travels bring me in sight of the isle.

Later that evening...
Rum Ration: Ditch
Stealth Check 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Marn, can I have a swig of that brew yer working on? So I can drink to my wife's memory properly. That foul rum ration would be an insult.

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

It says if you use OR equip a held item then it gains the broken condition (so I guess merely carrying something wouldn't break it). When armor is broken you halve its AC bonus and double its Armor Check Penalty, so if I can get away with not wearing it, it would be very beneficial.

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

I think I'd want to run a half-elf oracle of nature with the Wrecker curse (it's flavored as a destructive curse of the Abyss, but the way I imagine it it is a curse bestowed on him by some avatar of Nature's power who is punishing his materialism and greed as a young man). He was pressganged as a porter, and on his first day his superiors were furious with him and beat him because the Wrecker curse makes all items you hold, wield, or wear gain the broken condition. They were about to kill him when they realized as soon as someone else touched the items they returned to normal. Then they all laughed at him and asked which god he pissed off.

And yes, this will be extremely interesting to play a character who breaks any equipment he tries to use. I will probably dip into monk (martial artist) at second level just so my armor class doesn't suffer and to get a bunch of awesome monk feats. :)

Male Elf Inquisitor 1 / HP -1/9, NLD 0, AC 16, Touch 13, Flat 13, F +2, R +3, W +5 / Init +3, Perc +10

Lex beams at his friends, It means a lot ye'd wager yer money on me, even though Owlbear was so much stronger than me. He lowers his voice a moment and speaks to Thea Thanks for the blessing during the fight, Lady. He tips his hat to her.

Lex will cast Cure Light Wounds 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 on Owlbear and help him up after the fight, saying Ye fought yer best and didn't back down, no shame in that.

Day 7
Profession (sailor) Check 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

At the sight of Motaku, Lex sheds a few tears and throws 5 gold overboard, singing a little prayer.

Lex's Prayer:
At sea is where I met my Cor, married I and she,
Besmara's smile on both of us as she had decreed.
Motaku's where she settled down, while I remained at sea.
Then thugs raided town, to her they said "A slave ye will be!"
To the Queen I cried, "Help me find her, I'll pay ye any fee!"
With aid, the thugs I spied and killed them rapidly,
But 'twas too late, my Cor had died, innocent ye'd agree.
This 'twas her fate, whipped to work and die in the heat.
So Motaku's where I laid her down, on a boat out to the sea.
I cannot bear, Besmara spare, wrap your favor around me.

Heal Check to Treat Disease 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

If that counts as my ship action, that's fine. If not, I'll use my ship action to see what potions Grok has in her store.
