Special Abilities
Adaptable Luck Three times per day, a halfling can gain a +2 luck bonus on an ability check, attack roll, saving throw, or skill check. If halflings choose to use the ability before they make the roll or check, they gain the full +2 bonus; if they choose to do so afterward, they only gain a +1 bonus. Using adaptive luck in this way is not an action.
Anxious You take a –2 penalty on Diplomacy checks and must speak slowly due to the concentration required. Unless stated otherwise, you are assumed to not be speaking at a volume above a whisper.
Fearless Halflings receive a +2 racial bonus on all saving throws against fear. This bonus stacks with the bonus granted by halfling luck.
Human Shadow These halflings can use Stealth to hide behind creatures at least one size category larger than themselves, without any other source of concealment or cover. As long as the halflings are within 30 feet of a human, they gain a +2 racial bonus on Sleight of Hand checks and Stealth checks.
Magical Expertise (Ex) At 1st level, a counterfeit mage adds 1/2 his level to Disable Device checks to disarm magical traps, Perception checks to find magical traps, and Use Magic Device checks to activate scrolls and wands. A counterfeit mage can use Disable Device to disarm magic traps.
Magical Talent Choose a 0-level spell (prestidigitation). You may cast that spell once per day as a spell-like ability. This spell-like ability is cast at your highest caster level gained; if you have no caster level, it functions at CL 1st. The spell-like ability‘s save DC is Charisma-based.
Wild Shadow - Underground You can attempt Stealth checks in this terrain in normal light without having cover or being invisible. You still can’t attempt Stealth checks in areas of bright light without invisibility or cover.

BACKGROUND
Leeka was bought by Hildara Crax when she was just a slip of a slip and trained as a maid in her service—it’s the only life she’s ever known, and she grew up under the harsh and cruel control of her Chelish diabolist mistress. Proving to be trustworthy, bright, able to keep her eyes on the ground when required, and too timid to act on any sensitive information, Leeka quickly worked her way up to the position of lady's maid, travelling all over the world with her mistress. It was while staying at a posh inn within the Sweet Orchid district of Canorate, capital of Molthune, that Hildara suffered her massive stroke.

The two of them were alone when it happened. Leeka still remembers watching this powerful, cold figure, writhing on the floor, unable to stand or speak, while she just watched and waited for orders. When it was done, the old woman was paralyzed, able only to whisper slurred mutterings and drool. Leeka thought all through the night, then, as dawn approached, Leeka put her mistress in her bed, made her comfortable, and smothered the evil hag with her own pillow.

Hildara was a loner in Chelish society, too cruel and mean-spirited for many of her former friends, and her only living family, a nephew equally cruel and spiteful, lived in Egorian and never visited unless his rich aunt insisted. Still, it would only be a matter of time before her mistress' body was discovered, and her nephew would be hunting down every last possession he could, so despite the vast wealth of Hildara's opulence around her, Leeka took only a few of her most recent purchases, and slipped into the early morning crowd milling about the capital, leaving her slavery behind.

Leeka was able to make connections with the city's large halfling population, who eventually were able to help her pawn off her pilfered items for some travelling money and get her out of the city. From there, Leeka headed north towards the relative anonymity of Nirmithas.

She very nearly didn't make it. Not long after crossing the border, she fell in with a small merchant train, when they were attacked by a band of the Ironfang Legion. The training to blend into the background at parties and clandestine meetings of powerful diabolists worked equally well at keeping her safe from the eyes of hobgoblins, but Leeka will never forget the screams, nor the bloodthirsty and cold butchery of the goblinoids, which made Hildara's dispassionate cruelty seem warm and sunny in comparison. When morning dawned, there was little left if the caravan. Leeka found the gnomish caravan keader's rapier, too small to benefit the hobgoblins, which she took for protection, and headed further into Nirmithas.

Avoiding the bigger settlements in Nirmithas, Leeka eventually made her way to Phaendar. While there was no call for her skills as a lady's maid to be had in the sleepy village, her ability with a needle and thread did attract some interest, so Leeka settled down, working for Maris Talorman, a local seamstress, for a small allowance, and a room in her attic.

DESCRIPTION
Leeka is 2’10” tall with soft brown hair cut short in a maid’s style, though she has been growing it out, holding it back with a simple scarf. Her eyes rarely look level with her own eyebrows, though she still manages to remain acutely aware of her surroundings, as all good servants are trained to do. She wears a rapier on her waist, and has a couple daggers tucked up her sleeves, but stealth and guile are her preferred weapons.

In many ways, Leeka still considers herself a slave, has nightmares about it, and also has to suppress the urge to return to Cheliax as the rightful possession of her mistress' nephew. For several years while living in Phaendar, she kept expecting him to appear, there to claim her. She is only now allowing herself to relax and open herself up to other people.
