Demonslayer and Silver Crusader Lari of Kyonin (NG Elf Ranger (Tanglebriar Demonslayer) 10/Mammoth Rider 4, 83 Fame), has served the Society in all number of fronts, including the defense of Nerosyan. His trusty steed Tiny (the occasionally Gargantuan Mammoth) is somewhat less famous, but together they operate Kyonin's largest only mammoth reserve. Efforts to convince the Queen of Kyonin to incorporate mammoth cavalry into the armed forces are ongoing.

The ground shakes for a moment, before a huge mammoth trunk pokes in through an open window, depositing a note on the closest table. It reads:
Quote: The Grinning Pixie is currently docked in port to replenish supplies. Venture-Captain Calisro Bennary requests a field agent with a proven track record for an extremely time-sensitive mission in the Arcadian Ocean.
Interested agents should report to the docks at once.
With another rumbling, the massive messenger departs.
A space is available in a Core table of 6-06: Hall of the Flesh Eaters (1-5). Please PM me if interested. Preference will be given to characters of 4th and 5th level.

I'm the Mammoth Rider David mentioned earlier. It's definitely not the optimal choice in most circumstances, but I picked it up because Ranger gets kind of boring in the mid teens, and it's definitely more fun.
My mammoth is a veteran of the Army of the Open Road (he's got a set of Parade Barding to confirm that fact). While I was seeking out some vengeance at sundered crag, I had the opportunity to watch a Tengu cleric of Besmara lead a group of mammoth riders to great effect against the demonic hordes. Naturally, I decided I needed one of my own. The character is currently in Eyes of the Ten, and my only regret is that I didn't get the chance to refute the title of Where Mammoths Dare Not Tread with him.
But yes, sometimes your huge mount won't be able to fit places, though a wand of reduce animal would go a long way towards helping that (and, if you're going via cavalier, a friend who can use it helps). That said, there are some other useful benefits to the class beyond the mount itself, like the bonuses against large creatures.

Hi everyone,
I was in the middle of a binge of working on character sheets (leveling up two polishing off an in-at-the-buzzer aasimar, etc.), and looking at some future options for my characters. It came to my attention that Lari, my ranger, is almost eligible for the Mammoth Rider prestige class.
The misfortunes of his animal companions have become mildly famous in the lodge, as he's currently on his third badger (there were three birds previously). Giving him something dramatic for his last couple levels (plus, if all goes well, Eyes of the Ten) seemed like it might be fun, even if no strictly speaking the wisest choice.
Here's the problem. On Sunday the character hit 27 XP. The character does not have sufficient ranks in Ride, but meets all other requirements. Is there any way to make it into the prestige class for 10th level? My guess is no, but I figured it didn't hurt to ask. Retraining was going to be prohibitively expensive, but an INT boosting item (most likely an Ioun stone, as my headband slot is being used for WIS), would do the trick.
I can't purchase the item before leveling, under the fuzzy logic of indeterminate time between sessions?
If not, is the best option to play my 10.1 scenario as a Ranger 10, and then retrain the level to Ranger 9/Mammoth Rider 1?
For some interconfessional tension, perhaps a cleric/druid of the Green Faith or Gozreh has decided that the priest's plans for urban expansion, particularly something that pollutes heavily, would be too harmful to nature, and decides to step in to defend it. The specifics could vary heavily depending on the preferred alignment of both the perpetrator and the victim.

Hi all,
While I'm still relatively new to PF, as my attempts to get an AP group off the ground are still in the herding cats stages, I'm looking to vent some of those gaming impulses elsewhere.
Inspired by a post somewhere, I was thinking about building a dungeon that's changed hands a number of times, being repurposed, expanded, etc. by each occupant. For example, the human military outpost is abandoned and taken over by orcs. They're driven out by a wizard, who uses it for magical experiments, before dying, after which an order of monks moves in.
My knowledge of Golarion is fairly limited, however, so I was hoping you kind people could point out some interesting areas of the world for that sort of thing. The extremely long history of Golarion, and unusual stability of many of its countries, can be problematic for that. The heart of Taldor has been the heart of Taldor for a long time.
Some of the obvious areas to me would be the Mana Wastes, the River Kingdoms, and perhaps the borders of the Worldwound. Other former warzones seemed promising, like the Taldor-Qadira border, and especially northern Garund, pertaining to the oath wars.
Would any of you have recommendations for areas to explore (and potentially the relevant books to consider purchasing to learn more)?
Nethys is pretty high on my "I hope I can find an occasion to make a cleric of this" list. I really like the idea of the duality built into the concept, with the Protection and Destruction domains, focus on theurges, etc. The same logic that's behind Druid alignment restrictions, and that Nog hinted at, seems sensible in this case.
That certainly doesn't stop those on the corners from worshiping Nethys, and there's plenty of good, characterful reasons for doing so, but being a Cleric means being held to a different standard than the average schmo.
At one of our gamedays, there was an all-Paladin table run. They finished the scenario much more quickly and easily than the rest of us.
