Aura of Good: The power of a paladin's aura of good (see the detect good spell) is equal to her paladin level.
Detect Evil: At will, a paladin can use detect evil, as the spell. A paladin can, as a move action, concentrate on a single item or individual within 60 feet and determine if it is evil, learning the strength of its aura as if having studied it for 3 rounds. While focusing on one individual or object, the paladin does not detect evil in any other object or individual within range.
Divine Emissary: At 1st level, a chosen one gains an emissary familiar, treating her paladin level as her wizard level for the purpose of this ability.
Religious Mentor: The familiar's sworn duty is to help train the chosen one for her future glory. The familiar is treated as having a number of ranks in Knowledge (religion) equal to the chosen one's paladin level. The chosen one doesn't gain Knowledge (religion) as a class skill.
Delayed Grace: A chosen one begins her adventuring career without fully understanding her true potential. The chosen one uses the barbarian, rogue, sorcerer column to calculate her typical starting age. She receives the smite evil ability at 2nd level and the divine grace ability at 4th level. This does not affect the rate at which she gains additional uses per day of smite evil, so she still gains her second use at 4th level, her third at 7th level, and so on.
This ability alters divine grace and smite evil.

Divine Guidance: An emissary can cast guidance at will.
Share Will: Whenever an emissary or its master fails a save against a mind-affecting effect that affects only one of them, the other can choose to attempt the save as well. If this second save succeeds, treat the original save result as a success, and the emissary and its master can't use this ability again for 24 hours. On a failure, both the emissary and its master suffer the effects of the failed saving throw, even if one of them wouldn't ordinarily be a valid target. This ability replaces share spells.
Improved Evasion Empathic Link: The master has an empathic link with his familiar to a 1 mile distance. The master can communicate empathically with the familiar, but cannot see through its eyes. Because of the link's limited nature, only general emotions can be shared. The master has the same connection to an item or place that his familiar does.
Thrushes are small, plump birds that eat fruit and insects. All thrushes are known for their beautiful songs, but thrush familiars are also capable of actual speech.
Background:
Kyler hails from the farmlands to the southeast of Sandpoint. Her parents were farmers, as were their parents before them and so one and so forth for generations and were she not chosen, she likely would have grown up, married and lived out her life there just like her ancestors. When Kyler was younger, her father taught her all about the land and the weather and how they interacted and animals, just as he had taught her older siblings before her. As she grew older, Kyler developed a love for archery. She would sneak off into the woods to practice, both to improve and because she found that it helped to clear her head and reduce stress. One day, her father caught her sneaking off to practice, and she thought for sure that he would punish her. Being a member of the militia, he instead offered to train her, claiming that archery was a useful skill for any farmer to know.
Kyler's life irrevocably changed a week ago, when she awoke to discover a bird standing next to her head on the pillow. It looked like nothing so much as a feathery puffball, but the initial surprise was quickly overwhelmed by the shock of what happened next: in a deep tone no animal that size could possibly generate, it said "It's about time you woke up. Get out of bed, you lazy sack of potatoes, you've got work to do." Despite appearing to be a bird with a white belly, red chest and face, slate-colored sides, and a brown back, it claimed to have been sent to guide her on her journey. The bird said that Kyler had been chosen for divine service, though when pressed it declined to indicate who or what had chosen her, or even what the bird's name was. Throughout the conversation, it became clear that the the creature was less than enthusiastic about "playing babysitter to some mortal meatsack". Annoyed, Kyler said if it wouldn't give her it's name then she would give it a new one, and named it Peepers. Peepers was even less happy about that, but he still would not give his real name, so it stuck.
Peepers informed her that it was imperative that she be in Sandpoint for the Swallowtail Festival, but either wouldn't or couldn't give her more information than that. Knowing that her parents would never let her go, and not knowing how they would react to Peepers, she secretly gathered some supplies during the day and snuck out that night. Her father would be unhappy when he discovered her missing in the morning, but Peepers didn't object and her little divine spirit guide wouldn't lead her astray, would he? She mostly stuck to herself during her journey to Sandpoint, so her only option for conversation was Peepers. The bird can be ill-tempered, and has been known to snap at passersby.
Kyler has only a couple of modest goals in life. She wants to become a famous adventurer, and she wants to someday have tales of her archery prowess told in every corner of Golarion. Nothing major, just a couple of small things.
