Feats: Power Attack and Saving shield

Traits: Chosen of Iomedae: At your birth, your parents dedicated your soul to Iomedae to mold into a sword of her light. The goddess blessed you, granting you a gift of light to brighten your path through darkness and a fine sword with which to spread her will. You may cast light once per day as a spell-like ability (caster level 1st), and you begin play with a masterwork longsword. In addition, whenever light is cast upon this sword, the radius of light and its duration is doubled.

Armor Expert: You have worn armor as long as you can remember, either as part of your training to become a knight’s squire or simply because you were seeking to emulate a hero. Your childhood armor wasn’t the real thing as far as protection, but it did encumber you as much as real armor would have, and you’ve grown used to moving in such suits with relative grace. When you wear armor of any sort, reduce that suit’s armor check penalty by 1, to a minimum check penalty of 0.

Opressive Expectations: You were raised with the belief that your family was special, and that those of your status always succeed at whatever they do. Due to your concern about upholding the family name and your memories of the consequences for disappointing them (such as violence or unsettling disapproval), you are easily frustrated. When you fail at a skill check, you take a –2 penalty on checks with that skill until you succeed or until you fail at a different skill check, whichever comes first. May look into “easily discouraged” instead of “frustrated”

Class Abilities:
Born to a father who led the most recent Mendevian crusade and a mother renowned for banishing five demons by the time she was 16, many of the religious community expected Kinva to accomplish great things. She spent her early years exhibiting many of the ideals for a paladin of Iomedae: honesty, strength, and most of all courage. That is until the age of five, when she and a friend decided to stay out and play during a thunderstorm. It was not until hours later that her family found her the remains of her friend. Scarred by her brutal introduction to mortality, Kvina became a much more timid child. She still acted in a just manner and was still, sometimes brutally, honest, but she would always hesitate before acting. She slowly started to feel like she was inadequate, but instead of giving up and failing her family name she tried even harder to be the perfect paladin. She started to add prayers to Calyien Cayden, for courage, and Irori, to help guide her, to her routine. Kvina redoubled her training in using the longsword and even developed, and then taught, her own style with the shield. Overtime Kvina turned herself into a respectable and respected young paladin, but as much as she tried, loud noises still cause her to break out in cold sweat, the things that go bump in the night still keep her awake, and she still feels like a sinner among saints.

Seen by many as the poster child of Iomedae worship, this eighteen year-old girl stands an impressive five-foot eleven. She always keeps her armor, clothing and body in pristine condition; she even has an extremely orderly, if over-packed, backpack. She often plaits her straight, chocolate-colored hair into a single braid. Her features normally settle into a stern frown, especially when she develops a worried-far off look in her eyes. When others can force her out of her brooding, and during those rare times she stops on her own, she is quite generous and caring about her fellows. Mostly she comes across as a serious and dedicated warrior, a façade she has carefully constructed to help her from being discovered, disgraced and banished.
