I think everyone might've been waiting on me now that I look back at the thread... I apologize everyone. I'm still up for it if everyone else is!

Krystae looks decidedly uncomfortable with the topic of her twin. "I know nothing about her other than what I've pieced together from those we have captured. I imagine she's probably ruthless though, especially if she is a part of these in rule here. I am willing to try it if we can get your Uncle out without too much bloodshed."

Krystae ponders over the options. "We have another option as well. Apparently I have a twin sister that is well known around here. Perhaps we could pretend that I am her and order this man's release? Although, it is possible they are already aware of my presence in these lands and on the look out for me..."

I very much understand and support that your personal life needs to take precedence over this game. I hope that whatever issue with which you are currently grappling gets better for you soon and I have had a blast with you as our GM. I was a good time!

For my fellow players, I would love to try and see if we can find a replacement GM. I very much enjoy this group and this game!

Hey all, I will be heading to Florida for a week starting tomorrow morning. Normally I would have my work computer with me, but I have to leave with our IT guys for some much needed tinkering. I'll have my phone with me, but I may not have much time for posting. If you need to GMPC my character during this time, that is okay.

Other than the bridge have we come across any landmarks that really stuck out? Maybe a lone copse of trees or a hill?

Okay, loot tracker is updated. Also, it'll be nice to finally have an opportunity to unload all this stuff we've been hauling around with us. We have QUITE the bit of coinage being carried around. I think if the city if large enough we should dump everything not being used and try to pick up some gear while we are here.

Krystae watches carefully as the ogres disappear, worrying slightly at their reaction to her appearance. 'It would seem dear sister and I must share a striking resemblance.' At this point there was no fighting this, Krystae's blood was tied to the lands of Irrisen and the witches here. It was all quite overwhelming, the idea that she was part of some strange weaving of fate possibly brought upon by Desna herself perhaps? When Havelock mentions the magical arrows, Krystae perks up a bit. "Would you all mind if I claim this arrows?"

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27

Krystae growls in frustration at the appearance of the strange giant-like creatures. "The three of you are as likely to be tax-collectors as I am an owl. I don't see any wings or feathers on me. So begone and harass someone else, or so help me I'll feather your bodies with arrows!"

Initimidate: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

"Perhaps we should continue forward and do some reconnaissance from the distance to see what we would need to procure before moving into the next town?" She did not like the look at the bridge one bit. "Whatever we do, let's get out of sight. Stay off the road a bit more if possible."

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22

As Droviz looks over the hat, Krystae catches a strange odor in her nose briefly that makes her examine the hat a little more closely. She casts a spell to detect for any magical auras and notices that hat glowing. She examines the auras and smiles as she explains the functions of the hat to her companion.

Krystae whispers a prayer of thanks to Desna for granting them to power to save the children this time. "I would say we have someone looking out for us and for your little ones. I am sorry, Maret, that we did not come quickly enough to save your husband. What is your custom for burial rites? I shall aid you in sending him to the afterlife should you request it."

Krystae spins towards the door as she hears to fly open, already putting an arrow to her bow and drawing back the string. She holds as the woman and Droviz rush into the barn and before she can shout a warning, Ragnar suddenly collapses to the ground. With a curse, she lowers her bow and rushes over to aid Warden in administering to his wounds as she draws out one of her healing potions and pours it into Ragnar's mouth.

Round 6

Attack: 1d20 + 9 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 9 + 1 - 1 = 27
Cold Iron Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 8

Now in a much better position, Krystae lines up a shoot on the quickling and waits until her companions provide her with a perfect shot and lets the arrow fly!

No Soft Cover from her companions for the Quickling.

She quickly follows up her first arrow with a second!

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Now unable to view any enemies, Krystae looks behind and around her to gauge the distances she is working with before taking a few steps backward. She uses the wall to push herself into a running and then leaps across the water, just barely landing on the other side. She uses her forward momentum to rush up near Droviz.

I just recalled that Krystae cast Shield of Faith upon Havelock just prior to combat starting. Don't forget to account for that!

Krystae draws another arrow and begins to scan the area for threats, keeping an eye out for the strange little construct creature and is ready to fire an arrow at the first enemy that presents itself.

Readied Attack: 1d20 + 9 - 1 ⇒ (8) + 9 - 1 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 2 + 2 = 12 Additional +1 to attack/damage if target is within 30'.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

Destruction Judgement; +2 Damage.

Outwardly Krystae did not appear to be moved by the vile words of the strange creature, but as it moved rapidly across the battlefield she began to worry it might be able to make good on it's threat. Especially after she watched her arrow make very little lasting injury. She moves back a few paces to get a better line of sight on her target, takes aim and lets another arrow fly!

Know: Nature: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Krystae does not recognize the little humanoid, but recognizes its contempt for her and assumes its working with the witches of Irrisen. Her heart fills with fury as her eyes begin to blaze with a bright green fire. She draws an arrow, takes aim, and lets it fly towards the creature. "Feel free to try, little man!"

Attack: 1d20 + 9 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 9 - 1 = 28
Crit Confirm!: 1d20 + 9 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 9 - 1 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 2 + 2 = 9
Crit Damage: 2d8 + 4 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 7) + 4 + 4 + 4 = 22 If applicable...

Actions: Swift - Activate Judgement (Destruction). Standard - Attack!

Krystae directs her attention towards the house, too concerned about the known threat than anything else around her... "Watch yourselves!" She keeps an arrow trained upon the front door of the western home!

Krystae immediately puts an arrow to her bowstring and begins scanning the area as she takes cover behind the nearby tree. "I'll stay back and cover you all."

A sudden thought occurs to her. "Professor, come here a moment." She places one hand upon her necklace of talismans and whispers a prayer to Desna to keep her companion safe from harm. Suddenly a ghostly starknife suddenly appears around the tengu and it twirls around him protectively, as if seeking a threat.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

Casting Shield of Faith upon Havelock. +2 Deflection bonus to AC for 4 minutes.

This is my favorite scene in the game so far. Ghostly children playing in a Tree Shape'd druid's branches is an incredible image.

I could not agree more, Ragnar. I was reading these posts while listening to my 'Sleep' playlist on Spotify (which is pretty melancholy) and it was nigh tear-jerking! Very nicely done, GM!

Krystae watches with a sad smile as the ghostly child play among Warden's branches. "These poor souls. They deserved so much more than this." She then spots the outlines of the previous adventuring party they had come across and the young girl Hyporia. Krystae nods to the spirit of the local girl and pats the handle of the oracle's dagger.

"We must end the reign of these Witches."

"Maybe they would respond better to me? I am the only human in the group after all." She suddenly stops and smiles at that declaration as if the thought had not occurred to her before. She ushers the others away and heads in the direction of the invisible whimpering. "Come now, little ones. I promise you, no harm will come to you. The big one looks like a giant, but he is not. He is very gentle, I promise." She will kneel down to appear less threatening and speaks the same phrases in Skald in the event the children do not know Taldan.

After Warden is unable to identify the magical properties of the belt, Krystae gives it a try. "Ah, fascinating. One can change this belt into certain types of weapons and then back into a belt. You can even magically enhance it like you could a weapon. Perhaps Havelock or Droviz would be interested?"

"I would be very interested in what the journal has to say and I cannot abide to leave this temple desecrated in this manner. I will work to carry out these undead and clean what I can."

Once the journal is deciphered...

Krystae seethes with visible anger at the cowardice of the priests. "No wonder their remains raised as undead. Desna likely intervened and asked Pharasma to curse them with undeath! Cowards, they desired such an awful fate as that."

With all of the nearby threats gone, Krystae turns her attention to the undead ravaging Havelock. She slips an arrow to the string of her bow, takes a slow breath as she pulls the fletching to her cheek, and lets loose with a sharp snap of the string!

Attack: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 9 + 1 + 1 - 1 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 1 + 2 = 10

Krystae slows her breathing, draws back on her bowstring and sends another arrow streaking the short distance between her and the undead threatening Droviz.

Krystae takes a deep breath and focuses like her father had taught her. She draws back the bowstring once more and fires off another arrow at the injured undead attacking Droviz!

Reminder that Droviz doesn't provide Soft Cover due to Friendly Fire Maneuvers!

No problem, GM, I completely forgot undead are immune to such things!

Krystae falters a moment when she notices the utter failure of her spell, wondering if these undead could have someone defiled this temple so much to sever her ties to Desna. She pushes aside such concerns for now and focuses upon her tried and trusted longbow; she hoped the spirit of the old hunter would approve of her usage of the weapon. She touches a hand to the tome hanging from her belt and a green glow spreads to her fingers. She snatches an arrow from her quiver, quickly takes aim, and lets the missile fly!

Attack: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 9 + 1 + 1 = 12

Actions: Swift - Active Justice Judgement (+1 Attack). Standard - Attack #1.

Krystae frowns as she draws her bow and follows quickly behind Ragnar into the temple. She reels at the obviously undead monstrosities, but is not quite able to identify them. [b]"I'm...not sure, but they are definitely undead! Begone foul creatures! Defile this holy place no more!"[/dice]

Drow longbow as part of her move. Readying an action to cast Blistering Invective at the first sign of hostile actions by the enemies.

Krystae smiles as she recognizes the symbol of her goddess. "This will be a very welcome place to take a rest." She stops to place her hand over the holy symbol with a small smile. "Thank you, milady." she whispers in supplication to the patron. "You honor us with this shelter."

She takes a few moments to check the area as Droviz suggests before taking a seat. "Who would have ever thought to find a temple to my goddess in this forsaken land."

"A healthy amount of paranoia is what keeps you alive in enemy territory. Let us not forget, we are way behind enemy lines in a land that we do not know. I suggest we be extremely cautious before further investigating this place."

Krystae hesitantly hands over her longbow to the woman, keeping her spear within reach should she prove treacherous!

Krystae follows stoically through the blizzard, allowing the stronger members of the group to pull the travois while she keeps an eye out for anything...

Once back at the cabin she gratefully enjoys some of the warm food. When Ragnar apologizes and places his hand upon her shoulder, she looks up with a smile. "You of all people have taught me that we should not feel guilt for something outside of our control. I am just glad that you are safe now."

Krystae nods. "Yes, I think that would be an excellent idea. Let us get to it. I have the blanket and rope, if you all can provide the frame? I have no axe with which to cut down saplings."

"Of course, but first we must needs tend to our fallen companion. He was the one that ripped this... fungus from your husband's body. It was him that you saw, not a troll. At least, we believe that to be the case. We had best clear the rest of this cave though, just to be sure..."

Krystae notices the limp. "Sylgja, why are you limping?"

I don't recall her having a limp before. If she did then completely disregard that please.

Krystae continues to fire arrows at the stuff until it stops trying to take over peoples' minds!

No worries, Warden! Basically its a military or police term used when you meet force (resistance of any kind) with equal or greater force. In this specific instance, I had a suspect get physical with me after I restrained him from attacking his brother. He attempted to disarm my gun while we were fighting and therefore he got Tasered.

Yeah, I'm okay Droviz. Thank you for asking. Just a few minor scrapes and abrasions. I was back to work yesterday, but had quite a busy day. I'm working on getting caught back up with my games this morning.

To my respective GMs and/or players, I am posting this in all my games that I'm running or involved in. I was involved in a force on force incident today during work. I cannot go into details for obvious reasons, but suffice to say no one was seriously injured. I'll be very busy with paperwork for the foreseeable afternoon/evening. If I have time later this evening, I will attempt to get caught up with my games. Otherwise, look for me tomorrow!

Krystae continues firing arrows, but her attempts to avoid pincushioning Ragnar, causes her aim to be throw off..

Krystae sees no other way at the moment and draws an arrow back to strike only the mold... but all the action around Ragnar causes her arrow to fly off into the cave.

Would it be possible to attack the mold without damaging Ragnar?
