Back-story: Kyras Sirota
The word Sirota means 'orphan' in proper Taldane - but Sirota is the product of love between two cultures, even if neither of his parents cared enough to keep the symbol of that love. Sirota's father was an elven hunter of some note, while his mother was a minor noble who never wished to have a family. The parents made a pact to 'donate' the child to the church of Pharasma, who forbids the killing of a child, born or unborn.
Sirota was brought up in the temple of Pharasma in the Free City of Restov. He loved to hear the stories of the Aldori Swordlords while training to be an undertaker in service to the church - in his free time he looked for someone to train him in the way of the Swordlords as well. He searched the city high and low, and soon found an older warrior who said he would teach Sirota in exchange for a proper burial once he died. Young Sirota talked to his elders, and was told the old warrior would have the burial he wanted, but only after the acolyte had performed a number of extra chores and duties.
Sirota did all he could to learn the ways of both sword and faith so he could serve his goddess and protect those in need against the abominations that are the Undead. Before his teacher died the man gave him something more than anyone else ever had - a name, and that name was Kyras. When Kyras asked why that name in particular he was told that it was elven, and a name granted only to someone on the cusp of greatness.
Upon his completing his training Kyras travelled west towards Varisia to find a path for himself and learn further about the ways of Pharasma in other lands. His Journeys brought him to Korvosa this is where he waits to find his destiny.
