Appearance:

- Natural: In his natural form, Pan stands at 5’4” and weighs 140 pounds. His build is quite lean, clearly exhibiting an emphasis on agility, speed, and litheness. His face is young and always seems to be grinning. His fur pattern is rather typical of Kitsunes, with a tawny orange coat covering the majority of his body, save for a cream colored belly, chest, and lower jaw region. His fur also has black around his amber eyes, and at the end of his snout (below his nose) in the pattern of a respectable mustache. He sports a couple of brass earrings in his right ear and a beaded dangle earring in his left ear. Pan sports a brand on his left forearm, bearing his jolly roger, as well as a mark to indicate his privateer contract with the government of Qadira.

- Human: In human form, Pan stands at 5’9” and weighs the same as his natural form. Once again, his build has an emphasis on agility, and seems to be more muscular, though this is simply aesthetic. His face is rugged and sports a black mustache, similar to that of the markings in his natural form. His piercings and tattoo both carry over into this form. He sports a large amount of black hair, which features several braids which feature mementos and beads. His human form also sports various scars, a feature he claims makes him seem more imposing and impressive as a pirate (privateer) captain.

Work/Public Clothes: Pan wears (in both forms) a soiled white shirt under a shabby blue vest. Over this he wears a brown naval officer’s cloak, lined with small curiosities, fetishes, mementos, and jewellery. He wears a bright blue sash with golden trim and tassels, with the emblems of Sarenrae and Besmara pinned to it, around his waist, and sports black trousers and brown boots. He also wears a dark blue kufiya in his human form, whereas in his natural form he wears a stained black tricorne, either way, they are decorated with an emblem bearing his adoptive family’s crest, as well as several other baubles.

Adventuring Gear: Pan wears most of his daily life clothes when adventuring, though he tends to forgo the coat. He wears a mithral chain shirt underneath the shirt, and keeps a buckler strapped to his left forearm. He has his rapier’s sheath strapped to a belt, which is set slightly above his sash. He keeps the rest of his adventuring gear in a backpack that he wears on his back.

Personality: Pan is sociable, charismatic, and incredibly optimistic. He has a habit of calling himself a pirate, though he is, in truth, a privateer in contract to the government of Qadira. Pan has a habit of talking his way into and out of trouble, and loves to interact with others. He has habit of keeping track of those he’s gotten into good standings with, preferring to make use of good contacts when he has the opportunity. As a Pathfinder Pan seems to be on the frontlines when fighting, using his nimble movements and quick strikes to subdue his enemies. He also frequently acts as the “face” of a party, his charismatic nature often allowing him to talk his way through problems as opposed to actually fighting (not that he’s against fighting, he’d rather just make more friends and contacts as opposed to kill others).

Background: Pan was born in Katheer in 4695. His parents were (and presently are) part of the staff at the Tien Embassy to Qadira, and as a result Pan was raised in a mixed environment, being raised on Tien ideals and traditions, but with many Keleshite influences surrounding him. Pan proved to be a social flower, and his human form began to reflect his surrounding environment, becoming more Kelesh in appearance.

Pan eventually discovered the wonders of the sea while on a trip with his parents to visit his family in Tien. He found the experience exhilarating, and soon took to spending as much free time as he could by the docks in Katheer, talking to any sailor who’d spare the time, and picking up tips of the trade. By his sixth year of education Pan was introduced to piracy via literature and was hooked to the concept. Throughout the rest of his educational years Pan fantasised about becoming a pirate, plundering gold, engaging in impressive and flashy sword duels, and most importantly sailing the high seas with crew of equal minded folk.

Despite his efforts, Pan never truly became a pirate, but found the next best thing; a privateer contract in service to Qadira. Pan saw this as an opportunity, and began his career under the command of a more experienced captain. After several successful years of serving under this captain, Pan was granted command of a ship, and began operating at the borders of Kelesh waters, hunting for those who failed to fly the correct colors, as well as pirates. Pan made it clear that he only followed the most necessary of the terms of his commission, and often butted heads with other privateers in Kelesh waters.

Eventually Pan found himself down on his luck, short on coin, and his crew having moved on to other privateer ships. He decided to take out a loan, offering his ship as collateral until he could get his life back in order, and signed up to operate as a Pathfinder agent in the service of Qadira and the exchange. Through this means Pan believes he can accumulate enough wealth, experience, and contacts so as to re-establish himself as a powerful captain and privateer.
