It turns out it was doing a lot more. As a small complication, even my Command spells would have been useless since it doesn't speak Common, and possibly because it is a plant, as well. It seems that our mistakes or its choices just made the combat last a little shorter or longer, but that, with its damage potential, to hit bonuses, invisibility, and saves, it was a forgone conclusion that we were going to be toast. The pauses did, at least, allow us to get to the door and spike it. I would be really interested in seeing what kind of party has success with it. Since AC and HP don't go up that dramatically, what kind of party would it take to survive? (I really don't know - I don't have the experience with higher levels.)

Choamski makes a good point, though some might need the PP for body recovery and restoration. As I just mentioned on the Gameplay thread, I have 1900 gold that I can contribute to a raise dead, leaving me with some mundane items and repurchased lesser equipment (about 500 gp value total). It seems if everyone could come up with the same, we would have almost but not quite enough for two raise dead spells. :-\ Unless one person has only one such character and another has a bunch of 3+ levels, we could just randomly decide on who should be raised.

For some time, an insect buzzing by his ear will cause him to draw his scimitar and slash around like a madman, trying to ward off the terrible rending death that is sure to follow. His first order of business is to make it to the Goldenfire Order, hoping that perhaps together they will have the necessary strength - if joined, too, by the town's leaders, guards, and militias. He had expected to find demons in his struggles, but this was somehow so much worse for it not to have been a demon. As soon as he can can make it to the nearest lodge, he sends word to any who will listen about Rellen and Chasik's brave fight and terrible fall, seeking to organize a magical retrieval party of some sort. Perhaps teleporting in and then out with the bodies, with the distraction of another force... He knows that but for a few crude iron spikes that he would be back there, too, perhaps with only a semblance of life and now serving the Black Goat instead of Sarenrae. He also thus seeks to sell all of his belongings but what he started with (and the wand he was given by his faction, which painful rules prevent him from selling) so as to raise the funds for them to be restored to life. Sorry we can't help with the PP for raise dead or restoration. After subtracting items used in the scenario, I have 1900 of value in equipment (resold value), leaving some mundane items to restart with.

Basically, it would have been indistinguishable from straight PFS play, but each player would technically be earning pregen-like credit which they would be applying to their characters. One advantage would be that a dead character could be easily replaced. Another would be that the GM could make alterations, use alternate rules, or do a side quest without bringing down the wrath of the PFS gods. Just a thought. -Posted with Wayfinder

I deducted 3 charges from the wand of PfE, so hopefully that helps with both AC and saves. Channel Energy - harm undead, DC 14: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (4, 1) + 3 = 8
Edit: Would this be a "enchantment [charm] effects and enchantment [compulsion] effects", if so, the victims would receive another saving throw from the effect because of PfE. (And which has a +2 morale bonus in addition to the +2 resistance bonus.)

I may be able to sneak some time in to make a post, though, but don't want to hold things up.

Despite showing his greatest martial skill and success in battle, he was not thrilled or elated or even properly satisfied. Instead, he felt simply ... He couldn't even think of the exact word. Flat. The silent destruction of whole worlds, as he believed he saw, had, it seemed, affected him in ways he didn't fully understand, and did not want to understand. Uncomfortable with this ... loss (and perhaps even more so with the internal reflection it was engendering), Knorrin fumbles around in his scroll case and retrieves a restorative spell, casting it on himself.
Now back to normal, Knorrin smiles simply and cheerfully again. "Friend Chasik, my many thanks for rescuing me from my foolishness! Let me help you with you wounds." 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
