My apologies, but due to my continued poor health and personal reasons, I am going to withdraw from the game. I have already missed a week's worth of posting and it seems I may miss another 1-2 weeks because my health has not improved and I lack the energy to try to catch up on all the various games I am involved with as well as carry on with RL responsibilities. So, it is best that Lorn and Ravi leave now and head out of the tomb (being we haven't delved that deeply into the tomb/adventure) and onto their own adventure than try to continue on and lag further behind. It gives the group a chance to find a replacement adventurer for the party before too much has happened in game.
GM stormcrow27 thank you for the opportunity to play and I wish everyone the best in the game and on the boards.

Thank you, Varisia and Jandar-Ki. BTW Lorn can also cast Light, if it's required.

Under the weather due to a nasty, persistent virus. Will try to post tomorrow. Sorry for the hold up.

"No secret door or passage", Lorn simply declared to her companions, satisfied with her examination.
"I will stay, as will Ravi", and she proceeded to follow Zohreh's undertaking and took out a bowl to use from her own mess kit.
Wouldn't Zariya be the one to go and speak with the merchant/s to buy shovels etc? She is the one with the best diplomacy afterall.

"I do not possess a shovel", Lorn added casually as she continued her inspection.

As the others talked of moving the sand away from the double closed doors, Lorn cast her keen eyes about the crypt, searching for another, hidden/secret means through.
Perception to locate secret or concealed passage/doors (other means of getting past/through than the double doors with no handles): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31 (+2 bonus from Inspired Archaeologist trait)

Lorn kept her eyes and ears open and continually surveyed the area as Jandar-Ki and Varisia led the group toward the first tomb. She employed her own sense of instinct and survival to ensure they were going the right way (avoiding getting lost) and bypass any obstacles on their long walk to be. She whispered to Ravi, gesturing with her hand for the anklyosaur to better understand, "Be on the look out, my friend."
Lorn's Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Lorn positioned herself toward the back of the group as they stood at the entrance to the Necropolis. Ravi followed his mistress.
"Be vigilant with all the senses. Tread carefully. I, and Ravi, will cover you from the back."
Lorn's eyes took in the presence of the latecomers, especially the Elven rangers from Kyonin, then back to her companions and the ruins of the ancient city before them.
Have we lost Zariya?

After checking on Ravi and Cali, and seeing they were settled for the night, Lorn had retired early with Arasmes and spent some time alone with him, on other more pleasurable pursuits. Afterward, she had called for warm water to be brought up and bathed, as the morning would come too soon and with it the responsibilities of the tombs.
Waking in the morning to the sunlight streaming through the window made Lorn forget for a moment the importance of the day. But within seconds, the moment had passed, and as the cock crowed, she kissed Arasmes awake and moved from the bed to conduct her morning ablutions and ready herself to meet the others in the dining hall. She collected her things and watched as Arasmes readied himself. Opening the door, she called to Zohreh, "You may collect your belongings, priestess", before descending and taking some food to break her fast. She did not dally long over her food for she had to check on Ravi and Cali and ensure her animal companion was fed and readied. Once they were settled, Lorn returned to the the others and completed her preparations.
F Elf (Wild Elf) Hunter (Scarab Stalker) 1 [HP: 11/11 | AC: 17 T: 14 FF: 13 | F: +4/+10 R: +6 W: +3/+4+5; Init: +4, Perc: +9/+11]
Lorn heard Arasmes ask for the room with the bath. It did not surprise her for he was a man of fine tastes and enjoyed such luxuries. She was not readily accustomed to fine conveniences, yet she did not make complaint if it meant they could bathe each other in privacy, enjoying the pleasures afforded to them by the convenience.
When her mate asked for wine, she lifted her hand to stay the barkeep. "A jug of cool water for the table, if you please."
When Arasmes pulled her toward the table with the Humans and Half-Elves, she whispered to him, "Strange that the Pharasmins are not here to watch over us. Strange, too, that the one called Zohreh is not with us."
Upon his introduction of her, Lorn inclined her head to the group and waited for their reply to Arasmes' bid to join them.
F Elf (Wild Elf) Hunter (Scarab Stalker) 1 [HP: 11/11 | AC: 17 T: 14 FF: 13 | F: +4/+10 R: +6 W: +3/+4+5; Init: +4, Perc: +9/+11]
The night was sultry - its heat holding tightly to the landscape.
Lorn felt Arasmes' touch and listened to his words. With a firm nod, she accepted his counsel in leaving Cali with Ravi. She drew a little away from him before pulling out a wooden bowl from her pack and filling it with water for Ravi. Cali did not need such sustenance.
Returning to Arasmes' side, at the threshold of the Tooth and Hookah, she replied "Yes, you speak your pretty words, habibi."
She entered the inn, confidently by the side of her mate. Lorn listened as Arasmes spoke to the innkeeper, and waited for the reply.
As she waited, Lorn's eyes scanned the interior, making note of anything interesting, suspicious or noteworthy.
Perception inside the Tooth and Hookah: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

Lorn looked up at the sign proclaiming the name of the modest inn and her eyes caught the image of the crocodile in the headdress and she could not help but shake her head at the foolishness. Her golden eyes strayed to Ravi by her side and then to the noisy interior. When Jandar-Ki had opened the doors, she had quickly glanced within. They will not accept Ravi inside for there is little space for a creature such as he. The night was sultry, and, she cast her eyes about, looking for a stable where Ravi could spend the night. She would fill her bowl with water and leave some feed for the Ankylosaur once she determined his resting place. Looking to Arasmes on her other side, "I must find a place for Ravi to eat and rest, as this inn does not look like it will accept animal occupants. I would settle him first and then enter with you." I would rather rest in the stable with Ravi than such a place as this. Making small talk with strangers was not to her taste, for she lacked delicacy. Yet, for Arasmes' sake, and those of her companions, she would enter, watch and listen.
Perception to note a stable or safe/secure place for Ravi to sleep: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

@Jandar-Ki: Good with gaining info about a local inn for us to stay overnight as we head out to the tomb come dawn? Unfortunately, Lorn does not have Know. Local.

She gave a knowing smirk at Lorn's talk of other talents. He was a passionate and resourceful lover.
Lorn's intense golden eyes travelled along the length of the one named Varisia as if assessing the claims of his particular skill and talents.
A warrior's worth was more than who would lead the hunt. And action would reveal the merit of a warrior.
"I am quieter of foot. My eyes are more keen and I have lived among ruins and know how to pass through them and find their secret passages. I fight with bow, so I cover from the rear with ease and skill, as the enemy does not always approach from a single direction. I can move through the desert as surely as I move through the jungle, so I can scout. I have a little magic, a blessing from Ketephys, the Elven God of the Hunt, and I may take on an aspect of certain beasts to reinforce my natural abilities."
Gesturing to her loyal Anklyosaur,
"Ravi's thick, plated hide is a boon. He strikes with his tail for it is a club ready to crush the bones of the enemy. He uses scent to discover the enemy. He is still young, yet he will stand unyielding in battle."
(Sorry, Lorn can't aid you, Varisia, as she doesn't have Know. Religion.)

Re Holy Weapon Balm: Lorn currently doesn't have the funds either. But I have noted it for future purchases. She presently has a set of blunt arrows for bludgeoning damage.

Her strength did not lie in the delicate probing of strangers. She did not possess the finesse required to loosen tongues.
"Let us all find guidance before the new morning arrives. I will come to learn more of this Tomb of Akhentepi. I will leave the questions to those suited to the task." Her voice was still low/husky, and, to her new companions, seemed to be the general way she spoke. Lorn's golden eyes fixed on the Princess and her chosen Man and then brushed across her own mate, Arasmes. Ravi simply craned his neck, but made no sound.
Diplomacy is not Lorn's strong suit. She's better with intimidation. ;)
If it helps the situation...
Diplomacy, via non-threatening posture and stance, to aid: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 (Lorn will keep still/composed enough to appear non-threatening in the presence of those questioned in order to make them feel secure enough to speak/answer her companions' questions. FYI: If she does try to speak, she suffers -2 to Diplo due to the Tactless Flaw. *winks*)

They had travelled far and they would enter the city in the morning and attend the great lottery.
Once again the night sky was broken by the curling flames of the campfire. The one called Varisia suggested by riding in single file they could hide their numbers. In an open desert it would not matter for there was no where to hide.
Lorn inclined her head at Jandar-Ki's comment regarding hunters and her Ankylosaur companion. As talk continued over the name of their collective, Lorn simply added, "Since Zariya admires the golden, then let it be The Golden Sun Hunters." Lorn held no objection to the name as her own eyes were a bright golden hue and she saw it as fitting. Golden, cleansing light and illumination also seemed to suit their purpose. The hunter playfully scratched Ravi's wide muzzle as his head moved up to look around the fire at the small group his mistress was a part of and then laid his chin back down on a log when he was satisfied with his observation.

Lorn pondered the name uttered by the female holding the pretty stick with its curved blade and recollected it to be a god from one of the many stories her grandfather had told her of the gods as a child.
Her belief in her goddess is strong. It did not hurt to have the gods' favour in any endeavour - Lorn herself had called upon Ketephys, Elven God of the Hunt's guidance in the past. Mayhap Zariya was well trained in arms and could wield the pretty stick with ease. Lorn would see for herself when the time came. The Elf preferred the longbow, but more so, Lorn approved of courage and honour. She was aware of Arasmes', Caliphana's and Ravi's strengths ... These others would have to prove themselves.
Pretty words were not her way. She spoke plainly with an untamed tongue.
"We fight, side by side. All have their strengths. We see what the lottery reveals in Wati. With this accord, what name will we be known by when we enter the city?"
Wasn't sure if this was the right time to bring this up or once we were in Wati...? I don't think it can hurt to come to an in-game agreement at this juncture.

Arasmes ibn'Fayad wrote: Arasmes looked over at his lover and says Where you go, I go. الدنيا لا شيء بدونك
His words were prettier than any jungle or desert flower. Hers were as coarse as the sand grains beneath her feet. They were two halves now whole.
She simply inclined her head and held his dark gaze. His eyes were obsidian swallowing all the light - fearful and wondrous in one breath. She had never met such a male as him and it was good they enjoyed each other.
Caliphana wrote: Where you go, I go...except without you my life would be much quieter. She then winks, bows slightly to Lorn, before going back to watching the darkness around them.
Arasmes' incredible companion enjoyed toying with him. At Caliphana's wink, Lorn smirked before graciously acknowledging the gesture.
"How Caliphana adores you, Habibi. How fortunate you are."
She watched as the beautiful woman with amber eyes - Zariya - moved closer to them. Lorn stared at her fine armour and weapons. Perhaps she is a Princess...she holds herself like one. Zariya spoke to the human male - for he seemed to have caught her eye.
The conversation between Arasmes and Zohreh drew her attention back - it seemed they were debating the fate of dark relics. She was unsure of what to make of the priestess ... however she was pleased that the Half-Orc did not give slight to her mate due to his caste.
Lorn's thoughts momentarily strayed to her Grandfather and the Alijae. Among them she belonged without question, yet here, her appearance seemed unrefined next to the likes of Zariya - yet some would call it a wild beauty. Lorn's hair was shorter - dark as the other female's - but the Elf's sat above her shoulders with a few intricate braids nestled among the strands. Lorn's eyes were prettier -- gold -- bright and intense. Her dusky-hued skin was a mark of her tribe and her once jungle home. She was tall, as Elven folk were. She travelled with an Ankylosaur and that drew attention in the more crowded towns and cities. Her Elven bow and machete could be seen on her person and she wore simple but well sewn leather armour. The dagger she possessed, made out of the black stone found in her homeland, was hidden from sight.
Zohreh of the Bulls wrote: "If we could. Those gifted by the gods have magic for a reason. I am not used to such a solution, coming from an orc tribe, but I must learn new ways to strive for good."
"All should learn as they explore the world and grow with it" and gave a firm nod of encouragement.
The Wild Elf remembered she had not yet spoken her name to the strangers around the fire pit.
"I am Lorn of the Alijae. My animal companion is Ravi of the Sands", she gestured to the lounging, now placid Ankylosaur.

F Elf (Wild Elf) Hunter (Scarab Stalker) 1 [HP: 11/11 | AC: 17 T: 14 FF: 13 | F: +4/+10 R: +6 W: +3/+4+5; Init: +4, Perc: +9/+11]
Cross-legged, Lorn watched the flames of the fire curl up into the night sky and listened to the crackle of the wood. The sound was comforting and reminded her of home. Her mate sat to her right and to her left was her young Ankylosaur, whose broad muzzle she rubbed before moving her hand to the back of his head and each horn in turn. The creature let out a low growl, pressing its head into the Elf's palm. Lorn softly chuckled at his antics.
When the female Half-Orc spoke and asked those in the circle if they would join her in Wati, Lorn leaned in, her form suddenly energised by the offer.
The rugged Human male with the keen eyes had then spoken, endeavouring to gauge the Half-Orc's intentions. Lorn studied him in the light of the fire - He was not like the other humans she had encountered or heard stories of - those who would desecrate the old places for glory and coin. She was pleased by his consideration. It was a start.
"I will join you. As will Ravi"; her low, thick voice filled the space before her golden eyes moved in the direction of her handsome mate, wondering if he was eager to join the one called Zohreh.

Can we come up with a name for the party of our own choosing? I'm a bit indifferent to those listed -- as they don't fully represent all in the party. I could live with 'Jesper's Jackals' or 'The Night Whispers' if we have to choose from them.
As to Diplomacy, Lionora has a +11 and Zohreh a +7 to aid. Arasmes has charisma through the roof, too, but diplomacy isn't a class skill for him. The bard has a very high CHA score too and once he puts skill ranks into DIP he will be good to go, too. So, I feel we have Diplomacy covered (or will be covered) - but that's my 2 cents worth.

Hi, Zohreh!
I just noted the 3/3 mix in genders. Interesting times ahead. ;) Sounds good re progression, stormcrow27.
Are we going to be discussing any/possible links between characters, here? Lorn and Arasmes are lovers and have been travelling/exploring together for a number of months already.
I don't mind linking backstories with other people, too, if they're interested.

It's great to be here! Thanks again, stormcrow27.
I think it'll be interesting having two females in the group with similar names: Lorn and Lionora. ;) Haha.
I dotted the game thread and then deleted the dot to keep it clean.
Thank you for choosing me to be in your game, stormcrow27. Good luck to those players who did not get in this time (you all had terrific character concepts) - I wish you the best of luck on the boards!
Happy gaming to all. :)
stormcrow27: Changed Lorn's animal companion. I'll adjust her backstory accordingly.
stormcrow27, Lorn can track/scout... She isn't designed purely as a ranged beatstick. ;)
Will wait and see what other submissions come in on the new recruitment thread. I might make/submit another character, if there is a real need, but the next few days are really busy for me and I believe recruitment closes on the 22nd?
Ariarh Kane's submission, here. Ranged Elven Hunter (Scarab Stalker) with viper companion.
stormcrow27, perhaps put up a list of submissions to date so players on the new thread know what's come before, so they can create something different?
This is Ariarh Kane's submission - a ranged character - an Elven Hunter (Scarab Stalker) with a viper companion. I still have to post her personality on the profile page and I may tinker with the character slightly before end of recruitment, but her stats etc are there to look over. Thank you for the consideration, stormcrow27. :)
