Karl Vinder originally lived in Magnimar, and moved to Sandpoint with his wife and two daughters fifteen years ago. When the Skinsaw Murders began shortly thereafter, Karl Vinder's wife was one of the first victims. He managed to raise his two daughters by himself, but he wasn't the best father. In particular, ever since rumors began circulating surrounding his elder daughter Katherine Karl has been ashamed and furious, and has become cold towards Katherine while growing ever more protective of his younger daughter, Shayliss.
Lyssa knows Karl through her interactions with his daughters and her dealings with him at his shop. He doesn't approve of her, and his voiced more than once that her "wild influence" may have had a hand in Katherine's rumored activities.
