Make a combat maneuver check against each creature in the line, using your caster level as your base attack bonus and your Wisdom modifier in place of your Strength modifier. Treat the results as a bull rush attempt. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

"Run? Yea, we run to the bridge, I may have..." Karist looked back at the hobgoblin patrol as his voice faded. He turned back, grinned and headed off at a run.

Karist nodded in agreement to Shessik and Ko'. He followed along with them as they headed to the bridge.

"We need to find the bridge then, and another healer," Karist said as he stood looking at the burning village.

"We go, we go," Karist said rather emphatically as he followed behind the catfolk carrying the unconscious boy.

"Alright, then where do we go next?" Karist asked as he looked about. Karist rose as Thakus took on the survivor. "We need to get out of this place as soon as we can, but we need more supplies too."

"Can we carry him? We need to get going before we deal with more of the nightmares we have run into at nearly every corner." Karist asked the others about him as he checked the unconscious boy's head, limbs and torso for injuries.

Karist was focused on the survivor and then saw a sudden flash of light followed by the warmth flow of energy. He felt good. Really good. He turned realizing that Ko had been the source of that healing. "Thank you, let's get them up and on one of the clear pews."

Karist looked over the grisly scene and his stomach cramped, but he moved into the room and started to scan each of those killed. Then he saw it, movement, slight it seemed. He held up his hand and stared intently at the body and saw it again. "Help me, there is someone alive here. Help me get this other body off of them."

He moved quickly and tried to lift off the corpse of the dead adult. "I need help, quickly."

Karist watched the creature finally succumb to the attacks of his colleagues. When Ko'Faahin pauses to look at the door of the temple, and then back at the rest of them, he realized what she expected.

"Let me get that," he said as he closed the distance to the door in a hurry and made an effort to open the large door.

Karist watched the wolf try to snap again at the lizard man's leg, and then back up slightly. He untwisted the sling, dropped a bullet into it, and whipped it quickly around sending the bullet flying.

This time the bullet went wide and the sling fell to the ground. Karist let out a sigh of exasperation at his two miserable attempts to use his sling.

Karist spun the sling in faster and faster circles as he watched the beast and his colleagues. He watched and gauged the distance of the beast waiting to see if it approached even closer.

But his shot went wrong, the sling wrapping about his arm and the bullet went shooting off into the darkness behind him. His face flushed with embarassment.

Karist turned back to the wolf and looked at it. Really looked at it. He let the sling go slack and continued to look at the creature.

"We don't look like the type that you want to bother with," Karist said calmly and with a strong tone in his voice. "The big one there just isn't worth the effort and there are pigs and such about that are easier to eat."

"Well, not sure out to talk to an animal," Karist said as the wolf turned toward the group.

Karist loaded a stone bullet into his sling and began twirling the straps in a quick motion.

Karist drew his sickle when he heard the odd voice and realized it was yet another one of the invaders that had lain to waste the trading village and the market.

He slashed out at the creature, but before he could do so, his lizardfolk companion did a slash with his blade that bit deep into the attacker. He followed through with his own effort.

We are dealing with an invasion, so um there are going to be a lot of nasties until we can flee and find safety.

Karist recovered his staff and spun it back at the goblin that was next to him.

Karist swung his quarter staff at the beastie in front of him.

He swung the quarter staff in such a bizarre fashion he watched it slip from his hands and fall behind the hobgoblin. "Not good, Karist, not good at all."

Karist swung his quaterstaff at the hobgoblin that had sliced his arm and side.

"I am really starting to hate them," Karist said in an obviously exasperated voice. He moved and as he did so, he loaded his sling and let loose a bullet.

"We go to the temple, agreed, and then we get to the bridge." Karist said in agreement and started heading that direction with the light of the burning building illuminating the sky.

"Agreed. We need to keep moving and get everyone we can out and across that bridge." Karist nodded in agreeement as he spoke.

"We need to keep looking for people and stuff," Karist said as he watched Ko'Faahin rush out of the building with an armful of supplies. He turned to the two villagers and asked, "Where would the bridge be? And, where else might there be supplies?"

Karist moved his fingers quickly and and then held them strait and began to swirl his extended hand into a tight circle above his left hand. He aims above the group trying to free the villager and find the door through the smoke and then blows across both his hands.

A gust of wind rushes forward clearing smoke and pushing against the upper portions of the room above those fleeing the building.

"is there anyone else in there," Karist asked as he scanned the portions of the room clear of smoke.

"I could send a pretty power blast of wind at the flames, it might help clear the room of the smoke for a brief period of time, but we would all have to move quickly," Karist said from his crouched position.

So my thought was using this to clear out the smoke, but not certain it would be the best cure!

Karist dropped to a crouch trying to see below the thick smoke and deep orange flames. He listened hoping to hear the voice again or at least get a sense of the direction it was coming from. He glanced over at the wall of flame and suddenly had an idea. But, he needed to know where the person was for it to even be of any help.

Karist pulled himself back from the door and was joined by others as he rammed himself against the door again.

"Thakis, you help him, you have a better blade, let me go free who ever is trapped." Karist said as he spun and ran to where he heard the pounding and the muffled cries. There were embers dripping down from the roof where the thatch was on fire and spreading.

When he got to the door he tried pulling on the latch to open the door.

Karist moved to the second door and pulled it open to where he could at least see what they were facing in this building. He pulled out his sling and loaded it with a stone bullet and started spinning it.

Karist gulped as the goblinoid went flying out the window and crashed into an unmoving heap. Karist shook his head and held back behind those a bit better armed than he was. "Why was the building on fire and people inside," he asked in a voice slightly louder than a whisper.

Karist opened the door and stepped back out to find the hobgoblin dead and Ko'Faahin celebrating their victory. He was still catching his breath as the final tingles of the healing spell finished.

Karist gathered his inner resolve and reached up behind his back and felt the arrow head, or most of it, sticking out of his skin. Blood flowed in a trickle from the wound, while it continued to bleed down his chest. Without any hestitation, knowing that the pain would be coming, he pulled metal barb and leaned against the wall as a new wave of pain coursed through him.

He breathed for a second, and then began the sing song words he learned so many years ago concentrating on the bleeding wound to his shoulder. But the words wouldn't come. He he needed to rest, but he needed to help his friends as well. He turned back to look at the room and then back to the door.

The arrow buried itself deep into Karist's right shoulder, it bit into muscle, scraped against the bone, and poked itself through the skin of his back. The force of the arrow knocked Karist back towards the building. He opened the door and ducked just inside the door. He tried getting his breathing under control. His mind was racing as he tried to focus his attention to the words needed for healing.

Why were these raiders here? What was going on? The thoughts flooded his mind as he reached for the arrow knowing what he needed to break the think off, pull out the two parts, and heal himself. He grimmiced as he put his two hands on the shaft, breaking the arrow and letting the fletching and wood fall to the floor. He tried muffling the cry of anguish that flowed from his lungs.

Karist heard the thunk of the arrow into the building behind him. He turned his gaze at the archer. He stepped towards the creature and his hands moved in the quick pattern of gathering strength and punching towards it.

Karist moved his hand in a quick fist motion at the attacking wolf in hopes that he could hit it with the mental force he had called upon earlier.

Karist followed after the others speaking aloud softly to himself. "Ok, find people, get them to the bridge, and then they blow the bridge - oh and get supplies."

He sighed as he walked and shifted his wooden staff to his left hand as he rubbed his side of his head with his right hand. He let the hand drop and scanned the darkness to see if he could see any more of the invaders.

"Ok, thank you." Karist said as he took the vials and slipped them into a backpack. "So, how many more buildings between here and that bridge? I think we need to get as many of the survivors to move to the other side of that bridge as quickly as possible."

"We need folk to grab what goods, and backpacks, that you all can fill and carry. We really need to move quickly though." Karist whispered to the four townfolk. He looked back over at the catfolk, and realized he could have helped the man as well. He shook his head and thought aloud, too many things happening all at once, need to keep my wits about me."

Karist looked about for any of provisions he could grab and load up.

Karist followed the others towards the trap door. There was not much he could do with the stabbed store keep. Then he followed the others to the trap door. He wasn't sure if there were others that were in need of healing. This was all happening so very fast.

Karist moved into the room and took a position where he could see what the catfolk did. He watched as she swiftly speared the hobgoblin with two quick rapid strikes. He turned to exam the man that was propped up with a spear.

Karist turned his eyes from the half-orc with the giant shield to the door and then back to the catfolk. He noted her ears were twitching and he looked at her with his left hand raised upwards in a questioning jester.

When he saw her answering jesters, he nodded and looked at the others trying to get himself into a line up.

Sorry didnt see the notes in the discussion...I think how Shessik and Ko work out the telepathy thing is one that needs to work for them. I can work with either.

Provision points - thanks Hawkeye for the explanation as I was trying to understand how that works. Ok, that is pretty cool mechanic. So finding things to carry stuff, and then the stuff are equally important.

Karist moved through the kitchen and towards the door that was to his left, past the fire place. He knocked on it, waited, then opened that door.

"Should we check the door back that way? Could be an office or pantry?" Karist looked to his right and saw another door. His mind was still processing what had happen and he still hurt. But, his blood and breath were racing following the attack.
