Minor update: document has been updated to include content from Alien Archives 2, which has given CR 14 and 17 enough of a sample size to give a useful average.

It's lovely to see people getting interested in this table and discussing it.
For me, I was mostly interested in having a concise table for benchmarking a character against: what attack bonus to I need to hit reliably, what DC is needed for an effect to be reliable, etc.
But Xenocrat is correct that ideally creatures more likely to be encountered should be more heavily represented. I mostly hoping that after a few more Archives and adventure paths/modules come out we'll have enough examples to really flesh the table out.

Thanks for the feedback Hmm.
Unfortunately, the appendix you mention is only mostly accurate. As in Pathfinder, Paizo designed an average statistics table, yet the creatures don't actually follow it. They are noteworthily closer in starfinder than pathfinder, but still pretty far off in some spots.
Look at saves for CR 5: they estimated Fort +7, Ref +7, Will +4; actual averages were +6/+6/+7. Not a big difference (and I understand how practice might differ from theoretical models), but worth noting anyway.

Once upon a time, someone made a spreadsheet for pathfinder that was average statistics by CR. It was super useful, and I referenced it a lot.
But when I switched to Starfinder, I couldn't find a comparable one, so I decided to make one, which you can find here.

Text in red (CR 14 and up) are marked that way because there is only one "alien" at each CR, so the "average" is skewed.
Sources to date: core, alien archive, pact worlds, AP 1-6. Will update with AA2 information once I have it.
Any requests/criticisms/questions/etc. are welcome and appreciated.

The wizard only becomes a first level wizard AFTER years of training to master those few basic spells he knows: he's basically done high school and going on to university. A 1st level sorcerer represents someone who just began his career- he dropped out of elementary school.
