Fluff:

Kallin never knew his mother, and he knew better than to ask about her as well. The last time Kallin's father thought about her he turned to a bottle then on Kallin. Kallin still has the scars to show that curiosity can be dangerous. Kallin's father was a strict man, a lawyer in fact well respected in Katapesh, though it didn't take long before Kallin learned the difference in truth and the law. A man who was doing the right thing would still be punished if he did not follow the law, or learn to lie. Kallin took this lesson to heart, always being one to twist words and find loopholes in anything he could. Much to others shegrin. Kallin is one who is rarely quiet, yet it rarely gets him into trouble. Though he has come of age, Kallin has still, as of yet, to do anything with his life. He neither had the drive to go adventuring, nor the desire to settle into a mainstream job. That is until a few months ago when Kallin's father passed unexpectedly. While going through the family estate, Kallin descoved a deed to land owned in Kelmarane. Upon researching this deed, Kallin learned that this was his childhood home, and that his family fled to Katapech around the time his mother died. Packing this deed up, Kallin arranged for travel with Garavel’s caravan hoping to visit his childhood home and learn what fate befell his mother those many years ago.
