Greetings!

I want to have my players go thrugh WotR, but I need a 1st level adventure, ideally around some sort of bounty or hunt after a cultist type of scenario, for a 1st level party, before the attack on Kenabres.

Anyone can have one they reccomend?

Warmest!

I am very late in this discussion but wanted to address the 'encounters can only be solved by combat' bit:

Running Kingmaker at the moment with a 6 player party, average 4 players per session, second book, Rivers Run Red:
- Wandering hill giant, and I quote “If the PCs offer Munguk something alcoholic to drink (at least 3 gallons), they receive a +5 circumstance bonus on Diplomacy checks dealing with the giant (his initial attitude is unfriendly). If made at least friendly, Munguk can tell them (in Giant) about the Ruined Keep (area G), the lizardfolk village (area H), and the troll lair (area R). If made helpful, he’ll also give them his map (see Treasure)”

Roleplaying with a depressed, alcoholic hill giant and not needing to kill him? Priceless, specially with a priest of Caidan Caylean in the party.

- Finding a missing children used by a will-o-wisp as a feeding source, in a lizardman village. You can solve without a shot fired.

- Mediating between a group of loggers and a nixie over landscaping involving her pond. No combat required.

- Resolving a meddlesome provocateur sent to their lands. No combat involved.

These are four encounters on a sandbox-type. I have found that Kingmaker is a very good entry-level adventure for new Pathfinder players and DM (D&D, AD&D and 3.5 DM, with 20 years under my belt). It does give the party a feeling that they are ‘changing’ the world although not in a cataclysmic way.
