About Kala the Quick-Handed

Description Kala is a heavyset young woman with russet-brown skin, dark hair, and piercing dark eyes. Despite her appearance, she has lightning-fast reflexes.

Background Kala grew up in the Black Horses tribe on the plains of Numeria. Her childhood was difficult, as she never developed any decent skill with horses. She much preferred spending her time working with the metal buckles and straps of the horse tacking, and from there, just about any devices made of metal. Not long after her coming-of-age ceremony, a small band of Varisian travelers came through her settlement, and she ran away with them, working as a tinker. Finding the the Varisian way of life not to her liking, she left them after a few months when the caravan passed through the town of Torch. Kala then settled in Torch, where she came under the wing of the local wizard Konnir Bane. He helped the young tribeswoman develop her skills working with complex machinery... both the mundane sort found across Golarion, and also the strange technological artifacts scattered throughout Numeria. She has a friendly rivalry with Konnir's daughter Val: the two frequently try to one-up each other, but they do very much care for one another.
