Role:

I wanted Kael to be a switch hitter (sword and archery), but I didn't see a ranger style compatible with the thornblade that's iconic for him, so TWF/possible face it is! (He will carry a bow as well, he just won't be that good at it, much to his kin's chagrin.) If there's no rogue in the party he can switch out a trait for the Trap Finder trait and a skill for Disable Device, and do trap disarming, and have a slightly more roguish past.

Appearance:

Kael (KAIL), despite being adopted by and raised by elves, is often charmingly disheveled, but his clothing and weapons are nevertheless kept in good condition. He is painfully aware of his elven parents' expectations, and tries to maintain an even keel and a steady hand, but too often he makes rash or reckless decisions, a fact that endears him to his friends and exasperates his kin. He does try to stay on the straight and narrow; it's just that often it seems so twisty! But he's a regular at the Leaves of Learning in Highmoon, in his home Dale of Deepingdale, where he studies in an effort to learn more about the world than the Dales can provide.

Hunter's Bond: His very best friend, some would say, is his riding stag, Elenrunya, or Starfoot in the common tongue. They've been on many an adventure (or misadventure) about the Dales together - and of course teased the guardians of Myth Drannor by slipping through their net of defense for a lark (though they've never yet set foot in the actual ruins, which Kael secretly hopes to do someday). [ooc: Treat as Elk animal companion.]

Equipment: His most prized possessions are his elven thornblade and leafblade, forged by his own father, and he does his best to treat them with the respect they deserve, drawing only when necessary to defend what is good.

Favored enemy: Zhentarim: Most of the misadventures he and Starfoot have been on have centered around the increasingly invasive and disruptive presence of the Zhentarim in the Dales he calls home. One particularly memorable incident involved his friends in varying costumes of Semban merchants and Waterdhavian mages, a barrel of fish, and a flying chamberpot - but he doesn't like to recount it, as it embarrasses his kin, who are trying to run their orchards in peace. He remains tolerant, friendly, and confident of his skills.

Background:
[OOC: I'm a fan of building ties within the party, so if anyone else wants to hook up their background with Kael's, I'm open to that! Otherwise I can expand on the tidbits hinted at above, TBD by whether or not he should have a more roguish bent.]
