"Well I don't get to make the final call on that, although I'll personally take a room, even if the others don't want one. I'll be back in a few to let you know." With that, Julius doffs his hat and turns to leave.

"Now, is that per room, or for all of us?"

I was wondering if you were trying to rob me blind...

Julius pulls out an old piece of paper from his pocket, along with a bit of charcoal, and starts writing figures.

Math: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

After a moment, he puts the items back, looking frustrated in the process. "I must be tired if I can't figure out what you're offering. It sounds like you're charging what...4 gold a day? Something like that? Plus a meal, of course."

"No, actually. He's the assistant, at least, that's what I've been told. Miss Scarnetti is the lady that is supposed to be the leader. It seems a bit complicated, and I can try to explain at another time, but for right now at least, I'm just looking forward to some shut eye. We've been on the move every since we left Magnimar almost a fort night ago." Julius pauses for a moment, looking a bit flustered, before continuing. "I apologize if I come off a bit short, it's just that I haven't had much sleep lately, riding herd on all of these people and all."

"What is your business in the desolation and how long do you plan on staying in the camp?" the minotaur asks plainly.

"Not many come out here to see the sights."

"Exploration, mostly. The principle and her assistant, along with the rest of us, have been sent out be some organization or other, to check out some of the ruins here for what they called an 'arch-e-a-logical' That's how he pronounces it dig. I'm not sure what it means, but the group is paying me well to ride herd on the people they hired, and to keep a watch on the lady and her assistant to make sure they can get back to whereever they belong." Julius shivers with the cold, and continues.

"Now that I have that mouthful out of the way, the lady says that they expect to be out here until they find their dig site, and then move out there for a month or more, although she would want to keep a supply line stretched out back to here to keep the beans and bandages coming, I suppose." It doesn't take an alchemist to figure out that he seems a bit uncomfortable with this last part.

Looking across at the fey, Julius responds, "Ma'am, my mom taught me not to stare at people when they're naked. It just makes the situation more awkward. I've been around the forest a few times over the years."

Looking back to Ruul and Elen, he says, "Iron bits you folks say. Sounds kinda funny to me. Everyone around here does it?"

Male Human Expert/4

"Ummm...just coin. What are bits?"

Good call on the bits/coin thing...

All of you walk inside and take a look around To Ally: he doesn't register as evil, not even a little. Julius takes a look around for a moment, sees the desk off to his left, and walks over to it.

"So how much do you charge a night? And also, how long can we stay here for?"

After a few moments, you see the driver and the Usurer shake hands again, and the driver starts to slowly walk up the path towards your establishment. He looks up from his walk, legs slightly bow-legged from obvious years in the saddle. He looks middle-aged, a bit of grey fleck in his beard, his hair covered by a wide-brimmed hat. As he walks up, he tries to put on a smile, seeing Ruul on the porch makes it falter for a moment, before returning.

"Morning, ma'am, sir." His voice is deep, with wide, deep vowels that makes him sound almost gravelly in tone. "My name is Julius. Julius Ervin. I've been made sort of speaker for this rag-tag bunch of 'explorers' that just arrived and I have an understanding from the town's elder that this is the best place to get a room here in these parts. Is that the case?"
