I'm submitting Jujopotamous Jumbomanic the Third, a gnome bard (prankster) who was in a Reign of Winter game that never got past level 1. I like this character very much. More than being a bard and actor, he can keep the party's spirits up.

Hi, Jujo was in a Reign of Winter game that died early (we were in the lodge). I am submitting him for this game. If he gets selected, I update him to level 2 with the game's specifics.

He is a gnome bard (prankster archetype) who can play the skill monkey, arcane caster and semi-healer. But more umprtantly, he makes sure the spirit of the party never goes down. With him around, nothing is ever boring!

I'd be willing to adjust feats/skills/spells according to the party's needs.

I am submitting the gnome Jujopotamous Jumbomanic the Third. He is a character that started playing a Reigh of Winter game that sadly died at level 1. "Jujo", as Jujopotamous is too long, is one of my favorite characters. He is a bard (prankster archetype) and, on top of his bardic contribution to the party, he'd be there to keep everyone's spirit up in the frozen gloom.

Although his skills are assigned more towards a rogue-y type, he can adjust to focus more on knowledges as per the party's needs.

How he came to Heldren:

Jujo sets his mug on the table and says "Well, aren't you just happy I'm here? Performing for you in this town? I'm joking, in reality I have been traveling the roads. You know, meeting new interesting people, telling and hearing stories... And, perfecting my act! I'm an actor, see?"

He gets up and takes a bow, showing his willingness to perform. Seeing that the farmer who was talking to him was completely confused by why he got up, he decided that in such a small town, actors weren't that common. "Come see perform in the inn tonight and you'll see why I'm here, but also wonder why I haven't been around longer!" He bounces his eyebrows up and down suggesting his evening's performance will be long remembered.

Answering the call:

Being a tavern gnome, Jujo gets wind of much of the gossip and folk talk. The word of the Lady's kidnap reached his ears quickly. At first he thought it was a prank, but something about it made him feel uneasy. He adjusted his belt and said "Well, this will be a tale to be told for years to come. I have to see it firsthand."

Jujo notices the sad and scared look of the folk and decides to tell a story of how a small boy from a village managed to bring out the sun on his own during a storm. At the end, he said "I'll investigate this matter and make sure you are safe!" After all, who is going to enjoy his acting if they are all worried about the woods?

Jujo steps behind Alice, looking into the next room curious. "What was that?", he asks even though he doesn't hear anything.

Well, considering my post had 8 d20 rolls whose highest roll was 14 and only 2 above 10, and our attempts at Vrixx's cage were abysmal as well....

@GM: I'm starting to get the feel that you jinxed the dice when Disable Device isn't possible.

Frustrated Jujo kicks the chest mumbling curse words. "We gotta find that Rohkar!" He sits on top of the chest while he waits for the other people to make a decision about the next step. He is too frustrated to come with an idea as simple as 'let's move one'.

The room where the mercenaries sleep proved to not be very interesting. Jujo looked about very briefly before moving on.

As Alice explains that Rohkar didn't allow anyone in his own room, Jujo gets extremely curious about it. No one is in it and the room proves to be a lot less exciting than what he hoped. Still, Revekka points out a chest and Jujo goes to investigate. He first checks it for traps.

Being too excited to look thoroughly, he quickly goes on to try to unlock it.

After many many many tries, Jujo seems defeated by the chest.

Jujo opens his eyes wide as Lady Malassene says things about people hiding in the lodge still. He immediately assumes a low stance as if something is about to pounce on him. As he sees that no one else is doing the same, he plays it off as some sort of performance and says "After you, Alice!"

Jujo, impressed with how fast Revekka gathered her thoughts and put a plan together, says "We should head back tomorrow. This place is eerie and it's warmer in town, but night's coming soon and I'd be afraid to venture the storm in the dark. And with undead about, even! No, no, no. This is just like the monologue of king Monoteth in the Tales of the Perfect Empire. Let us sleep and we start to go back in the morning."

The gnome looks at Vrixx worried. It's painful for a creature as free spirited as a sprite to be in a cage.

I'll wait to see if this isn't an episode of Walking Dead to RP some longer term action

Jujo shrugs at Vrixx and accompanies Trawets downstairs, without saying much. He is sad for the sprite, but by there being nothing they can do, this is their situation. He hopes the sprites gets that by himself. He still lets Alice carry the cage, it being too heavy for him.

@GM: so, did I fail to open the little cage with that high roll? It affects how I act next.

Jujo comes close to Alice and asks to try for a while. He also asks to borrow his tools.

He comments "That's not so hard.", only to frustrate Alice a little more.

Jujo watches the interaction between Alice and Vrixx without breathing. He feels very sorry for the sprite. He resumes breathing when Magni suggests reopening the cage. However, he knows Vrixx will only use his freedom to flee, and won't help with anything.

Still, he forgets about the creeping presence in the house and shouts to Alice "Stop hurting him!" He comes closer and says "He has done nothing wrong, really." The gnome seems to want to stand his ground. Knowing that Rohkar probably has the key to the cage on him, the best chance they have is to pick it open.

"Open it", he says drily to Alice.

Jujo looks at Vrixx while holding to the windowsill harder than he intended. He breaks his own hypnosis and gets his crossbow to see it is ready to fire. He says to the others "If this is a prank, it's an epic one! It reminds me of the play written by an Osirian man... What was his name? Haver Shin, I think?" Words come out of the gnome to make him feel better, but he still doesn't.

Suddenly he thinks "We should reunite." He goes to the door and screams really loudly "I think we should not be separated right now! Come up!" He thinks to add "please", but doesn't want to talk to the stairs anymore.

Jujo keeps looking out the window, bored. He tries finding interesting things to see in the snow and it brings him back to his childhood, when he couldn't get out because it was too cold. After a while, he is smiling despite himself.

Jujo feels sorry for Vrixx and looks at him worried. He wants to set him free, but is a little scared of Alice, so he stays back. Revekka is also being serious and mean, which makes the gnome uncomfortable. He knows of fey who get punished for being who they are in other parts of the world and it is sometimes very cruel.

His thoughts are interrupted by Trawets who tell him to watch the window. He gets on top of a chair and looks out for about half a second before looking back inside, distracted by the couple getting downstairs. He says "Yeah, I'll keep an eye out. Just don't know how to put it back in, I mean, I'm not a healer..."

Now farther away from the sprite situation, Jujo sits on a chair and declares "I guess we have the lodge now!"

He spends some time staring at the wall, remembering the day from the start so he can make an amazing story from it. He is also thankful to have some protection from the cold. Despite the smell of smoke, it was cozier than sleeping in the snow.

I know the sprite is being very fishy, but Jujo is that clueless.

Jujo looks at Alice and says "I suppose we can trust him a little bit, no?" and smiles reassuringly. He steps out of the overcrowded closet and moves on to the door with the other prisoner and tries it.

Magni's initiative shows Jujo that he needs to also step up. The gnome says "Yes, Alice. Take it easy. This isn't a big bad white dragon, you know? Come, let me talk to him."

"Say, Vrixx, we think there's more to your story that you're not telling us. How about you take it easy and tell us the whole thing?" He also wants to encourage the sprite to not be so aggressive, but he can't find a way to say so without being aggressive himself. He asks "Are you hungry? Can we get you something to eat?"

Jujo listens to Alice's conditions sadly. He thinks it is too aggressive a way to treat a cute fey. But still, he knows there is something left unsaid and he also suspects the sprite somewhat, so he stays silent, looking at his feet.

Jujo barely notices the things Trawets is examining. He looks at Vrixx with sad eyes and says "Calm down now. There are a lot of strange things going on and we think the fey might be involved. Answer my large lady friend here because things need to start making sense for us before we do anything."

As he waits for the sprite's answer, Jujo says to Magni "We're a noble group of heroes, that's what we are! And Alice. He's in for the money."

Jujo gets up on a box to meet the sprite in the eyes and replies in Sylvan.

Sylvan:

"Don't worry, little fellow, we won't let anyone hurt you. You know, I learned a lot from sprites. I knew one called Messin and he taught me how to properly kick a ball. Of course I used this knowledge to break some windows, hehe"

"So you don't need to be afraid anymore. What's your name?"

After the name is said...

"So, ***name*** I get the feeling you're holding out on me. What's this cage doing to you?"

Jujo doesn't have Know nature (yet), but he has bardic knowledge and some connection to the fey. I'll assume he knows what it is.

Jujo looks at the caged creature and says "A sprite!" He, then, says something in the natural language of the fey.

Sylvan:

"What happened to you, little buddy?"

His eyes get moist from seeing a fey. It has been too long and he misses them.

Jujo looks at Alice inquisitively as he mentions a miniature wingeling gnome. "Now that I must see.", he says and makes his way to the door to see what it's all about.

On his way to the door, he looks at Revekka and says "Looks like we missed Rohkar this time." and shrugs. He does like a chase.

Jujo quickly realizes that there's an open door and says "That way! Rohkar went that way!", and steps towards it, but letting Alice go in front of him.

Jujo calls out to Revekka "Come in, Revekka, it's clear, it seems. Be careful on the entrance, though, it's slippery." He makes sure to watch her as she steps in taking needless extra care.

The gnome rolls his eyes at the voice from the door doesn't get the classic fey prank reference. He says "Never mind, you... I'll search for some keys." He does, indeed search for keys, but he eventually forgets what he is searching and just looks for anything of note in the tables, such as in drawers and perhaps hidden compartments.

Jujo comes in and goes towards the talking door and asks "Now how do we know you're not a fey waiting to pop our pimples?"

Jujo says loudly "Hello, we'll get you out in a sec", then snickers looking to the others thinking they were having the same idea as him. Then he remembers there is one Rohkar too little accounted for. He whispers loudly "Come on, Alice, step inside!" He still gets ready to cast a spell at the first sign of trouble.

Jujo readies an action. Trigger: Someone looking like Rohkar's description appears. Action: Cast Daze, DC 13

Jujo reassures Lady Malassene "Yes, milady, that is very wise. Let Ottast know if there's anything we can do to make you.... less uncomfortable." He resists the urge to think of a prank to focus on the task at hand - Dealing with Rohkar.

Getting upstairs, the gnome looks around and notes "So the big bad Rohkar decided to hide, huh? Reminds me of the play of Allahad the coward, as he promised wealth to those who followed him, but hid under a table as his kingdom was invaded." His movements echoed his tale, as he pretended to crouch under a table. The performance was not only meant to goad Rohkar, but also served to work like his magic, as his senses extended to magical auras.

Jujo says "All right, then. Let's go upstairs. Although, sometimes people like to put traps to their rooms. We better check for some." He doesn't go first up the ladder, especially since perceiving things isn't what he is known for.

After Jujo gave Lady Malassene his canteen, he watches as the lady chugs water down. Then, he says "Milady, you should stay out of the fight. We don't want you to get hurt. Ottast, could you come down here and defend the lady, please?" He almost said out loud that they were going up, but stopped himself at the last moment.

He looks inside the pouch that the lady gave them, then says "I agree with big scythe man here. We should deal with this sooner rather than later. Since we're here, we might as well get this over with, and also we might end up learning something about the weather. Lady Malassene said he knows whoever did this, so shall we ask?"

I don't have pre-fight buffs, except for inspire courage, which I'll activate one round prior to breaching.

Jujo bows down in respect, but a little too much to be theatrical. He says "It was our pleasure, milady. If you will allow me to straighten your hair, so that it is worthy of your status..."

Jujo casts Prestidigitation to clean the lady's hair and make it shiny. However, he arranges it so extravagantly that it would be fitting to a gnomish queen, if one would ever exist. It is so worked up that a bird could mistake it for a nest.

Jujo continues talking "We are indeed very curious about this weather, but we had the quest to rescue you first, hoping that the source of the cold would come up. Apparently you can fill in some blanks, but let us get you to safety first, then you can let us know who came up with this fantastic prank."

He looks over at Ottast and says "About your captor... Ottast! Which way did they go?"

Seeing the lady move out of the house quickly, Jujo thinks for a second then says "Milady it's warmer inside, if you prefer, we have a fire going!"

Then, he says to the others "Ok, we might need work fast! Who can get the most water inside?" He proceeds to go to the kitchen and find a cooking pot he can use to transport snow inside to use on the fire.
