I went from a female Aasimar necromancer worhsiper of Urgathoa on the path to bloatmage (back during early entry) to a male tiefling wizard/rogue going for arcane trickster.

Tiefling Arcane Trickster

Aasimar Bloatmage Necromancer, worshiper of Urgathoa. I also brought Duplex cookies and offer anyone an Urgathoan cookie (not many takers for those so more for me!!! omnomnomnom)

I just played first level as a necro, had a blast but in one adventure where I had no undead I was hosed...I had another necro tell me that with the blood money spell I could take ability damage to create a skeleton to animate. I tried to disagree with him and tell him 1 pint of blood does not create the target of the spell just the gem.

I don't have to worry about it anymore (well unless I'm GMing.) After the level 1 retraining I switched to being an invoker.

Less drama more blasting.

Deific Obedience {Urgathoa} (Oh look! +1 CL to necromancy spells - fits the flavor too!)

What also fits is to perform the obedience you spend 1 hour praying and eating.

I just played level 1 with a Glutton Mage, it was fun for me but the rest of the party felt it was creepy to be surrounded by skeletons (multiple necros in the party and one had undead master). With the level 1 pfs retraining I switched to being a wrath mage mainly because it really wasn't my style.

Thanks all, I was assuming that was the case, and this is the retraining before 2nd level. So re-shift everything and will be ready to roll next game. :-)

Also, Bloatmages. Bloatmages are fat.

Played around with the feat, but before I completed the crypt of the everflame and I realize that Necromancy doesn't "Fit" my playstyle. I'm more of a blaster instead of a pet person.

I frequently want a +1 cloak of resistance before 9 fame. (This one I usually find on one of my chronicle sheets though)

I frequently end up saving 8k before reaching 18 fame and then purchasing +2 mental stat and +2 physical stat item at the same time.

Anybody with an arcane bond may encounter the fame limit as you only pay half but are still required to have the full fame. (My character with an arcane bonded weapon is always waiting for more fame)

I have a plain quarterstaff as my arcane bond, eventually I will cast masterwork transformation on it. Then it will be a plain masterwork quarterstaff, until I have enough fame and money to turn it into a Staff of the Master.

I too missed that faq. Nothing is set yet, as I have yet to hit level 2. I will be playing crypt of the everflame soon and hitting level 2, though. I'm going to be up front whenever I sit down at a table. If I had the boon that unlocked Dhampir I might have gone with a Cruoromancer they seem perfect. As it is I'm probably going to make an aasimar bloatmage for early entry at level 2.

edit: That is unless there is a faq that contradicts the Faq about SLAs meeting the requirements for presitge classes and feats.

After receiving a boon that unlocked Thassilonion Specialist I decided to embrace the dark side and make a Runelord of Gluttony (Undead school specialist to be exact). For flavor, I thought about making a bloatmage. It fits don't you think? I'm wondering if it is worth it. Also, does Bloatmage Initiate and Varisian Tattoo (I do have a lot of "canvas to work with") stack?
