A while ago Sean started a thread asking questions related to magic item crafting and a new source book.

Has that been put together yet? shelved and forgotten?

Just looking for an update.

Thanks

Don't know why my brain isn't working today...

From the PRD:

A spell-like ability has a casting time of 1 standard action unless noted otherwise in the ability or spell description. In all other ways, a spell-like ability functions just like a spell.

So in the case of a half-fiend or half celestial who wants to use their "unhallow/hallow" ability it would take the full 24 hours of what? Meditating?

Or can they just concentrate for a round and zap it's hallowed or unhallowed ground?

Hallow

Thanks

If one looks in the Beastiary under "drow" and then in the ARG you can see that the base critter is essentially the same.

Until you add in the "noble" powers.

Using the ARG you have to be a minimum 13th level to get all the feats that would make you a "noble" and you can never get the full set of stat modifiers.

So which one is the "true" noble drow? Because that CR3 cleric in the bestiary can't actually exist (according the the ARG).

Hi Folks,

Note: this is completely separate from the "multiclass monk base attack questions" (though I *can* make an argument for both sides & which I never saw any definitive answers to btw...)

Just noticed this last night...after 30+ years playing D&D...<sheesh>

For this purpose assume a 20th level single class monk.
Base attack: +15 / +10 / +5

For their flurry of blows ability we use their Monk level as their base attack, giving them the effective BA of a 20th level fighter (+20 / +15 / +10 / +5)

At 20th level they have the virtual Greater Two Weapon Fighting Feat thus:

(Cumulative - assuming light weapon in off hand)
Primary hand always gets a (-2 to BA)
Two weapon: 1 extra attack with off hand at -2 to to BA
Imp. Two Weapon: 2 extra attacks at (-2 & -5) to BA
Gr. Two Weapon: 3 extra attacks at (-2, -5, & -10) to BA

SO... A 20th Fighter or (Monk using flurry of blows) using the RAW (feat descriptions) has the following:
Primary Hand: +18 / +13 / +8 / +3
Off Hand: +18 / +15 / +10

Yet the Monk has (flurry table 3-10 Core RB): 18 / +18 / +13 / +13 / +8 / +8 / +3

The only way that happens is if the (-2) off-hand penalty keeps stacking with the other "penalties" associated with the improved & greater two weapon fighting feats. Yet the feat descriptions for both Impr. 2 Weapon & Gr. 2 Weapon don't say that. They just say that there is a (-5) or (-10) penalty to attack with the off hand.

So, either Table 3-10 (monk flurry of blows) is wrong OR the feat descriptions are wrong. Which one is it?

Hi Folks,

This being my first post I want to thank everyone for the tons of commentary / discussions that have helped me adapt to Pathfinder after playing D&D since 1979 (mostly as the dm).

Now the question:

Is there anywhere a "designers notes" section of these boards? For instance somewhere where we can see *why* they changed a rule somewhere from the 3.5 SRD?

For example - why did they change damage reduction? I don't know whether to house rule it back to the 3.5 version, some other bastardization or just adopt the Pathfinder version.

And since I don't know the "why" I'm less likely to accept the RAW for something like this.

Same thing for not using XP for magic items or spells (major shift in power from the players to the dm)

For example I may not *like* what they did with the wish spell or the various polymorph spells (in our groups we *never* had the problems that everyone seems to complain about) but since I know *why* they changed them I can go with it.
