Johann stays near the door, searching for a used path or some sort of protrusion in the stone that hides a hidden switch. Perception: 20 + 7 = 27

Johann takes the fake pendant and examines it a few moments more. Even not being made of the true material, fakery is still quite a commendable art. Appraise: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 An appraise, just because! "Shall we continue on? I'm not sure how much time we have left."

The inscription before the room suggests we may need to think this through. Perhaps it is trapped." Johann's eyes scan the area for anything that might hint at it being so. Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 Do you allow taking 20 for perception checks whenever we have the time?

If I've been casting the spell while the door is opened, it'll go off immediately, otherwise I'll have to wait for the 1-round casting time.

"I'd ask you to stay here while we go forward, but that carries a risk too. Better for you to stick close." He then addresses the party. "Metal snakes... does that sound familiar to anyone? Hm.... Snakes made of metal could be some sort of underground creature or construct. Something that shrieks from light or movement... there are many things that could fit that description, but perhaps something that lives underground due to the reaction to light? As for the four drowned men rising, those might be undead." He tries to recall anything more specific that could fit those descriptions. Any that apply. How do you want to roll for knowledge checks in the future, or to know which one to roll? I don't really want to spam these until I hit a relevant one.
"Let's just focus on the snakes made of metal in the next room for now. My best plan is to summon something and let them go first while we try to take them down."

The small ice elemental appears in a burst of condensation, snow and ice composing its humanoid body where it tapers off into a tail at the bottom. Without the proper language to communicate in, he motions for the elemental to go near the mould and attack it. Casting Summon Monster II for a small ice elemental. Lasts for 8 rounds.

"If he can do that, then there's already nothing we can do. But I doubt he would want to damage our capabilities if we are to do whatever he has in mind, and we've already signed a binding contract in the first place." He smiles at Ignace, continuing, "And I wouldn't say they are stupid." He sips some tea, smiling at Tibbers, before nodding to Annie. "You've already seen some of my capabilities. I excel in the art of conjuration, particularly focusing on summoning and binding. I am serviceable in most other areas of magic but less so in divination and enchantment. I am also an artist and painter and have some skill in navigating social and political situations. However, I'm not very strong nor as flexible as I once was and I easily tire out due to my age." The heat of the room seems to be somewhat affecting Johann as he begins to sweat. He shows no other sign of it, though, and does not break composure. "As for our plans, we'll have to see what the Cardinal tasks us to do first. It should be something grand as even The Merchant is involved. But I always look forward to new experiences and beautiful sights. The burning of Branderscar was quite lovely, my dear."
