Charm of Wisdom (Ex): You use your Wisdom modifier instead of your Charisma modifier when making Bluff, Diplomacy, and Intimidate checks.
Judgement (1/day): Starting at 1st level, an inquisitor can pronounce judgment upon her foes as a swift action. Starting when the judgment is made, the inquisitor receives a bonus or special ability based on the type of judgment made.
Monster Lore (Ex): The inquisitor adds her Wisdom modifier on Knowledge skill checks in addition to her Intelligence modifier, when making skill checks to identify the abilities and weaknesses of creatures.
Stern Gaze (Ex): Inquisitors are skilled at sensing deception and intimidating their foes. An inquisitor receives a morale bonus on all Intimidate and Sense Motive checks equal to 1/2 her inquisitor level (minimum +1).
Gifted Linguist: Tengus gain a +4 racial bonus on Linguistics checks, and learn 2 languages each time they gain a rank in Linguistics rather than 1 language.
Swordtrained: Tengus are trained from birth in swordplay, and as a result are automatically proficient with swordlike weapons (including bastard swords, daggers, elven curve blades, falchions, greatswords, kukris, longswords, punching daggers, rapiers, scimitars, short swords, and two-bladed swords).
Background
A native of Kwanlai, Jigen was born in the capital city of Hisuikarasu. Born to a lower-class family in one of the poorer slums of the city, Jigen grew up devout in his faith. He spent many hours at the local temple to Hei Feng, volunteering as an assitant to the priest. Despite the deprived nature of his childhood, Jigen was content. He found peace in the chaotic nature of Hei Feng, and comfort that, as a Tengu, he had Hei Feng's divine favor. He accepted that things in life may go splendidly or miserably, as is Hei Feng's will.
As he grew up, a slow tranquility crept up on him. Eventually this tranquility grew into a deep desire to protect and spread the word of Hei Feng, and he joined the ranks of Inquisitor trainees within the foremost temple in Hisuikarasu. He excelled in combat (particularly the archery drills) and diplomatic training, and was quickly promoted to full Inquisitor status and given a mission to Varisia.
However, this was not entirely due to his skill.
The tranquility he had experienced growing up was the positive half of a strange personality transformation. The other half was a slight, nearly impercetible detachment from the world around him. Jigen grew more and more manic with regards to his religious fervor. It was not obvious to anyone observing him that anything was amiss, but those that spent hours around him noticed something strange taking place in his mind. He became more complacent within his place in the world, and that place he saw as being a messenger and embodiment of Hei Feng's word; that word being that there are no certainties.
One day, in his sleep, he had a vision of strange, disturbing events occuring to the east, in Varisia. He woke up engulfed with joy. This would be a perfect opportunity to spread the word of Hei Feng, to bring others under His great wing. That morning, he stormed into the temple, up to the high priest, and in a barely coherent stream, related the nature of his vision. For many witnesses, and those that heard the story second-hand, this cemented Jigen's status as a madman. His friends and superiors that saw great potential in him were even more concerned. None had broached the topic of his mania with him, unsure of how to handle it, and now they realized it was too late.
He was granted permission to travel to Varisia and promoted to full Inquisitor status, the elders of the church assuring him of their confidence in his status as a prophet of Hei Feng. Secretly, this was a ploy by those more unnerved by his unhinging to rid the church and Kwanlai of him, and his supporters attempted to assuage their guilty feelings with the belief that exposure to the real world might clear his head.
(I'd like to note that this mania does not come through in Jigen's speech. He does not normally say or do anything at of the ordinary. He seems to be a peaceable, devout man. His mania, his compulsion, comes through in his demeanor. There's something... unsettling about him. It might be something in his eyes, or his stance, or just the deep calm he presents himself with. It becomes ever more evident the more time someone spends with him.)
Appearance
Jigen is 4'9 and 92 lbs. He has a light, lean build like many Tengu. To many non-Tengu, he looks just like any other, except for a few details. His beak is straighter and more flat than other Tengu, resembling a crane's beak more than a crow. Three feathers behind each of his eyes are dyed golden, representing lightning, and two blue ones below those to represent rain, the storm being part of Hei Feng's domain. He wears sleeveless leather armor and bracers underneath a dark gray cloak. A longsword hangs at his side, a light mace tied right below it. Two daggers are strapped at his belt at his other side, and a quiver of arrows hangs off his belt at his back. A longbow and another quiver of arrows hang off his back, over his cloak and backpack.
