Hey, gang. It's become apparent to me that I've over-extended myself concerning how many PbPs I can keep up with. I'm going to drop out of certain games, including this one. As a system play-test with evolving rules, it's a prime candidate to ease my PbP "work load."
Jon, if you could mark Jeremy as inactive, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Link to the map
I've just been busy, sorry. I don't feel like Zandora's hogging any spotlight. Rather, I feel bad that she's been carrying the scene. :)
I think allowing multiple skills to achieve a non-combat task is great, but relying on that method doesn't guarantee that multiple options for every non-combat task will be available. On the other hand, I feel like character creation encourages at least some mix of combat and social talents.
All that said, I think a 10% penalty is too slight, but I hear you about it not being fun to do be able to do a thing. Maybe a 25% penalty?
The link for the map doesn't work, FYI.
I'm taking my family camping, this weekend. I won't be back until Sunday evening.
Fine with me. The only thing Jeremy can provide at this point is his sense of smell.

His lizard brain working as hard as it can, Jeremy tries to work things out.
"So, the killer was dirty, so it came in here to take a batch, and then it left, but since they're clean, we can't follow their footprints anymore?"

Jeremy is ready with his spear for something to jump out at them, and then he'll hesitate, because this is just a test, and the threat may not actually be real, so he'll have to internally debate whether or not to stab at the surprising threat, and if he hits it then maybe they'll fail the test because they're supposed to know that it's a test, and the guild doesn't want anyone who can't tell when it's time to use a certain level of appropriate force, but then maybe the guild is taking this part of the test seriously, and they're accounting for participants using lethal force, and if he doesn't strike with everything he has, they would decide that they don't want anyone who isn't ready to act when it's time to act because he's overthinking this and oh god this test is so challenging what do I do.
Anyway, he's ready.
Thanks. I assumed I was somehow adding a bonus derived from Spears to the Intelligence check.
Spears: 1d100 ⇒ 85
Not seeing anything particularly helpful about the wound, Jeremy gives up and follows the others.

Jeremy peers closer at the body.
"How was she struck down? What killed her?" He looks for any evidence to answer his own questions.
He turns to Cathirix and mentions, "She isn't really dead. We are to pretend she is as part of the test."
"Aren't you concerned for your own safety, being left in the store with a murderer?" Jeremy asks Ured as he leads the group to the back.
Jeremy also enters the store, spear in hand, ready to be tested. He inhales deeply through his nostrils, hoping he can detect the scent of something that might hint of any danger.
Perception + Sharp Senses: 1d100 - 5 ⇒ (22) - 5 = 17
Sorry I missed most of that. yes, I'm good with Test of Knowledge.
In the first post, the Guildmaster strongly recommended we check out the map. Maybe someone can see if that has anything on it other than the location of the four known tests while I finish up?
"Hmm," Jeremy replies. "You're right, that isn't much. Have you figured out anything interesting about the Test of Knowledge?"
Jeremy pulls a chunk of meat off of the skewer he holds in his hand. He tilts his head back and gives the meat several open-mouth chews until it is masticated enough to slide down his gullet.
After he swallows, he replies, "What can you tell me about the Test of Grace?"
"It's a deal."
Jeremy motions to the vendor, selecting a meal's worth of what's on offer for both himself and for Vee.
"I have already said. Food. I will trade food that I will buy from this vendor's stand and give it to you, and you will give me information about the Festival. That is how this will work."
Jeremy looks at the vendor with a questioning expression on his face, as if to ask for confirmation that he is being clear.
"I am Jeremy. Will you share with me what you've figured out about the other tests? I will buy you your choice of this snack food in return. I am an expert at eating things, and this seems like very edible food."
Jeremy tries to notice what sort of merchant stall he is approaching, but otherwise, all he's interested in is the gnome.
"Hello. Are you excited by the Festival, or is it something else?"
Overlord Jon wrote: It's a 'depends on what you guys wanna do scene'. If you wanna talk to everyone you'll have time, so long as it's not dragged out too much. But not everyone here will be helpful. Jeremy had walked over to talk to the excitable gnome.
I'm assuming a potion takes up 1/5 of an equipment slot?
I'm assuming Jeremy was also given a potion. Let me know if that's incorrect.
Having gotten what he can from the robed alchemists, Jeremy throat-clicks a farewell, and wanders over to the excitable gnome to see what he is so excited about.
"I always appreciate an extra healing potion," Jeremy says. If any potions are offered, he will give one a long sniff and a short lick before stowing it away. Not because he can glean much about it from doing that. It's just habit.
"Are you relying on your generosity for entry into the Adventurer's Guild, or will you be completing any of the tests?"

Zandora wrote: Jeremy. wrote: Why would he want Zandora's name when he has 'Jeremy' as a name? It's much better than his last name. It's more about the murdering/eating because he just decided he likes something and thinks murder is totally cool so he can have what he wants. :) She doesn't think that he wants her name, or they would probably already be having a personal conflict. Well, there's more to the story than what Jeremy has said. And I will think of what that is so that it paints Jeremy in a sympathetic light. Any day now.

Jeremy walks stalks over to the three men in robes.
"Hello. What are those potions?"
"My name is Jeremy," Jeremy says, introducing himself. "It was not always my name. But one day a man came to my tribe in the swamp. I liked his name better, so I killed him and ate him so that I could have his name.
"Oh look! They are giving out potions! Let's go get some!"
Jon, where would you like further discussion of the game system to be held, Discussion or Recruitment? Or maybe start a separate thread somewhere?
"Despite how much cunning prey I have eaten, it is not my 'forte.'
"But I will support us in any test we take."
Jeremy emits another series of clicking noises from his throat. Perhaps to convey excitement?

I'm very happy to see Zanbabe and Simeon in this game! Also, looking forward to playing with Elbowtotheface!

Jeremy leans casually on his spear next to Cathirix as he studies the dispersing crowd. When nudged, he stands up straighter and cranes his neck until he sees the approaching woman. After Cathirix says hello, Jeremy opens his maw wide and emits a series of clicking noises from his throat by way of greeting.

A gameplay thread to dot into would be divine.
