About Jenter, the Happy Swordsman
A native of Varisia, Jenter has always been interested in meeting different kinds of people and seeing all the distant and fascinating places he's heard about from travelers' tales. Unfortunately, a meager living doing odd jobs wouldn't fund such travels, and the more lucrative purposes for which he could put his sword skills to work didn't always sit well with him.
However, after learning about the Pathfinder Society's influence in the events surrounding the return of a runelord and the threat of the Worldwound, Jenter met a Pathfinder who happened to also be a cleric of the goddess Iomedae. This cleric explained that although the Society is not primarily a force for good and its members are a diverse lot, there's something to be said for setting an example of peace and kindness among their ranks, especially when you can back up your ideals with a willingness—and ability—to defend your comrades' lives against both mindless monsters and unredeemable villains.
Taking the cleric's advice (as well as some freely-offered monetary assistance), Jenter traveled to Absalom to begin his training. Though the Master of Scrolls was unimpressed and the Master of Spells barely acknowledged some potential, Master of Blades Marcus Farabellus pushed for Jenter's confirmation with glowing praise, and gave him the nickname "the happy swordsman".
