Sense Motive: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1 Jedric impassively watches the interaction between Chen and the other Seanchan, simply awaiting a sign of which way the wind is about to blow, or if spears will need to be danced...
Male Aiel Woodsman 6/ Algai'd'siswai 4/ Armsman 1: HP 144 AC 24 Fort: 8 Ref: 9 Will: 3
The aielman senses the growing tension in the alleyway, but doesn't shift his stance or raise his veil. Handspeech to Fiallain: No, I do not. I was far to the west of here in the mountains when we were cut off by shadowspawn. I agree though we should gather this information and bring it to the Car'a'carn, or the Clan Chiefs, or the Wise Ones? Maybe the Wise Ones would be best?
Male Aiel Woodsman 6/ Algai'd'siswai 4/ Armsman 1: HP 144 AC 24 Fort: 8 Ref: 9 Will: 3
Jedric nods, removing his veil and lowering his spear, That is well Vice Captain Chen Armad. Let us seek this dealer in secrets together then.
Male Aiel Woodsman 6/ Algai'd'siswai 4/ Armsman 1: HP 144 AC 24 Fort: 8 Ref: 9 Will: 3
Jedric watches the interaction between Taldo, Chen, and the Seeker, Chen, what do you think? This seems like a matter of honor for your people, and while Taldo makes sense that the Car'a'carn may want this information, should we risk the Seanchan taking up spears against us and the others? the Aielman asks from behind his veil...
Male Aiel Woodsman 6/ Algai'd'siswai 4/ Armsman 1: HP 144 AC 24 Fort: 8 Ref: 9 Will: 3
Jedric looks confused at the terminology being bandied about by the others, Forgive my ignorance of wetlander and Seanchan ways, but what are you talking about? marath'damanae, a'dam I do not understand the relevance, or why this man would be sent as an assassin to kill these people.
Male Aiel Woodsman 6/ Algai'd'siswai 4/ Armsman 1: HP 144 AC 24 Fort: 8 Ref: 9 Will: 3
Jedric is taking his time absorbing all this new information, names, Seanchan accents, and what that means. How many in this Return? he asks himself, but chooses to stay quiet for the moment, his veil still in place, and spear held loosely, ready for whatever it may be needed for.
Male Aiel Woodsman 6/ Algai'd'siswai 4/ Armsman 1: HP 144 AC 24 Fort: 8 Ref: 9 Will: 3
Jedric looks at Chen, nodding slowly, In a way, it seems like a type of Ji'e'toh; although it sounds different in your lands than in the Three-Fold Land. One could never be Gai'shain and Algai'd'siswai together, but I understand the concept you explain. Content with that understanding of Chen's culture, he watches the Seeker to see how he responds to the massive Ogier.
Male Aiel Woodsman 6/ Algai'd'siswai 4/ Armsman 1: HP 144 AC 24 Fort: 8 Ref: 9 Will: 3
Jedric observes Taldo's reaction to the whole scene with a look of interest and concern. Is this one sick? I hear rumor that can happen, but seeing is different.. He hears Taldo speak with Fiallain, but does not lower his weapon, should the seeker attempt to rise without Chen's approval. The Aiel man keeps his faced veiled as well, marking to those who know that he is ready to act and kill if need be. Finally he adds, What is a Death Watcher? to no one in particular.
Male Aiel Woodsman 6/ Algai'd'siswai 4/ Armsman 1: HP 144 AC 24 Fort: 8 Ref: 9 Will: 3
Jedric trips the man, and then circles him, with his spear in hand, as if daring him to rise and run. Someone wishes to speak with you... He'll be present in a moment. You should remain there until he's ready for you. The Aiel doesn't look out of breath or even tired from sprinting down the man. Jedric puts himself in position to gain an AOO should the man rise and attempt to run again.
Male Aiel Woodsman 6/ Algai'd'siswai 4/ Armsman 1: HP 144 AC 24 Fort: 8 Ref: 9 Will: 3
Okay, I'll take my re-roll to aid another to Fiallain. Since I can't not make the DC10 that's +2 to all her rolls! :D Jedric, veiled, begins to point out different things to Fiallain as they wind through the wetlanders. I think that is him, he is sneaky, like a rat hunting for crumbs in the roof.
Male Aiel Woodsman 6/ Algai'd'siswai 4/ Armsman 1: HP 144 AC 24 Fort: 8 Ref: 9 Will: 3
Jedric starts down the road, veiling himself as he moves through the wetlanders in pursuit of the fugitive, Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Only 7, 8, 10 for me
Male Aiel Woodsman 6/ Algai'd'siswai 4/ Armsman 1: HP 144 AC 24 Fort: 8 Ref: 9 Will: 3
Jedric, not having seen the quarry, follows with Chen and attempts to look again for this person. He questioningly looks at Fiallain, but doesn't break stride or move his veil, yet. Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Male Aiel Woodsman 6/ Algai'd'siswai 4/ Armsman 1: HP 144 AC 24 Fort: 8 Ref: 9 Will: 3
Jedric, uncertain of what, or whom, exactly the Ogier is talking about looks to the left and right as well, his hand straying toward his veil... Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24 He looks to Fiallain for answers, but doesn't ask at this moment, with everything being too new and uncertain; he merely keeps watch.

When the brawl breaks out, Jedric is hardly surprised, given the number of humans packed into the Inn. His hand begins to raise to his hand to his shoufa, as if about to veil himself. Then, Chen's voice thundered through the room, and the Aiel stilled himself before lashing out at anyone nearby with a killing blow. Looking to the massive Ogier seated on the floor, he winds his way out of the Inn, sticking close to Fiallain on the way out.

Nodding to the Asha'man, Jedric begins his formal greetings again, I see you Taldo of the Asha'man. Turning back to the seated Ogier,Thank you. I see you Chen, Vice Captain of the Gardeners. You honor me by comparing my skills to that of Rhoekk. I am simply who I am, and I have not tested myself against his spears, I am sure the Aethen Dor would hold his own against a Shae'en M'taal such as myself. he grins at the last, with the deeply unfathomable humor of the Aiel. Might I see these words put to paper by Cadsuane Sedai? It is information, and maybe I will learn more of what the pattern has in store. Jedric reads the paper, upside down from where he is sitting without standing, It seems fortunate that I have come across you, and perhaps you will help lead me back to where the Car'acarn is, and I may be reunited with our brothers. Considering the words in the letter for a moment Jedric laughs, Well, I am sorry to tell you, I am not the person who shall influence your actions, but I am pleased to be swept along with the Car'acarn's plans. He takes a second small sip of the potent Aiel liquor. Who do you expect will meet you in this place, or is that still a mystery?
Male Aiel Woodsman 6/ Algai'd'siswai 4/ Armsman 1: HP 144 AC 24 Fort: 8 Ref: 9 Will: 3
Considering Fiallain's words, Again, I have toh. But I do have oosquai, and it seems fitting to share it. The Aiel produces a jug from his pack, seemingly well-travelled and places it on the counter. He fishes for a cup in his pack, and withdraws a broken teacup, which falls apart in his hands. Nodding at the turn of events, Jedric takes a small sip directly from the jug, fastidiously wiping the lip down.
With that simple pronouncement, Jedric sits, and listens politely to the discussion at hand, or whatever the others are discussing.

Upon seeing Rhoekk also of the Taardad, Jedric quiets a moment, knowing he is in the presence of powerful warlords and Wise Women, Rhoekk, my water is yours. It was that day which Rhuarc awarded me Nightrunner's Bane as a token of ji. I will carry it until I wake from the dream. Fiallain, my honor is yours, I did not recognize you immediately, and I have toh to you. I did not expect to encounter the pair of you here in the wetlands, so far from where our people are now.
I see you, Ryvin Altessar, your name is known to me; he says bowing his head only to the Ebou Dari woman, if you are here with Fiallain and Rhoekk, then my water is also yours. Turning to the seated Ogier, he bows again I see you, Chen Armad, Ogier of the Seanchan, your name is known to me, although I do not know your people's title for what you do. I know that you are different from the Treesingers here in the wetlands and the three-fold-land, although your massive size marks you as whom you are. Unless the Wise One says differently we should ground the spears. Lastly looking to Taldo, he cocks his head to the right slightly, Apologies goodman, I know not your name, but if you are here with Rhoekk and Fiallain, I am sure you are welcome beneath their roof. We were sent far to the west here to scout,[/] looking to the wetlanders and Ogier,[b] I am Shae'en M'taal, known as the Stone Dogs, we scout for the Algai'd'siswai. We reached the mountains days to the west of here before we were set upon by Trollocs and shadowrunners who conjured fire.Turning back to the Wise One and Rhoekk, I suspect many of my companions woke from the dream in this battle, and I survived by my wits. What brings you to this place, we have not heard news or the boasts of speardancers drunk on Oosquai in many moons.

The door to the inn opens, revealing a tall Aiel man dressed in the Cadin'sor of his people. A traditional buckler adorns his left arm, and on his back a quiver shows arrows and the spears of his people. He pauses, upon seeing the masses of humanity, and the overly large Ogier in the room, the smell of that many people giving the Aiel pause before he nods to himself, more than anyone and enters. These wetlanders pack themselves into these places, would they not be better served in tents where they could have space from each other? He gingerly picks his way through the crowded inn, eyes finally settling upon the Aiel at the bar. He approaches, his youngish face showing a momentary flash of relief before stilling its emotions in the Aiel way. He nods to the two Aiel, and takes in the others as well. Greetings, I am Jedric of the Jindo Taardad, Shae'en M'taal, may you find shade this day. I am relieved to find some of our people in this place. I was cut off from my brethren by Trollocs and a shadowrunner who brought fire from the sky. I found these wetlander roads which lead here. I had hoped to find word of my companions, but this seems not to be the case. Jedric has a reputation score of 7, so most Aiel may know him - He is a Stone Dog with a reputation for being a shadowspawn killer, although he does not boast of it, he says it is merely what he does. He bows deeply before the Wise One, Greetings honored one, may I help you in some way until I find my kinsmen? He takes in Ryvan, Taldo, and Chen; accepting that the Wise One must have reason for speaking with these people without comment.

Hi there! I found some time away from work emails today (Thanks COVID), and I'm here. :D I think I got the character built accordingly, and am ready to jump into the story! I'm looking forward to this one, I really enjoy the world and the books, and I GMed one of my most memorable campaigns in this setting so long ago, but my players continue to bring it up. :D |
