Uh... hm. If I have a climb speed, does climbing a cliff count as "square[s] that... slow movement" for the purpose of preventing charging? Jatri runs towards the cliff and the nearest grioth waiting on top. And bounds straight up it--he very like a bear, after all. That was my first guess. A group of six magic things is usually elemental, isn't it? Culture: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 I think this is just part of it, though. Jatri lets the others draw conclusions, but he knows enough about scientific sampling and measurements generally to be helpful. Even if this isn't an area within his expertise. Don't suppose I can argue for Life Sciences: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11, perhaps with a penalty for being not-quite-right?

Are you going by the content warning? Given that it's about interviewing survivors, "themes of mental manipulation" is probably what they're talking about, not something expected to happen to the party. That already happened anyway, with the confusion spells. "Themes" and a content warning is probably more like... stories about traumatic, long-term abuse.Though Inky's list looks good to me.

Mitigate.
The mental attacks are certainly starting to have an effect on Jatri, who's breathing heavily. Maybe a little too much focus on the objective, and he shouldn't have ignored the enemies completely. He reaches to try the detonator again, and accidentally clubs himself in the face with it. He's really not sure how that happened. Self-inflicted damage (confusion): 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

First of all, I used Mitigate for the damage last round. I applied that to my Stamina and entropy points, but never actually stated that's what I was doing.
Right, sure--"Felix, get clear!" Jatri holds the detonator, ready to punch it as soon as Felix is out of the way. (assuming the beam's effect isn't preventing him from acting)

Will: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2 Jatri looks at the grioth. Ow. After I tried to save your life? Unable to use the detonator until the others have finished setting their charges, Jatri instead charges (in the other sense) at one of the grioth who seems far enough away from the bombs. [full] Charge at Pink. Attack (Shaken): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 against EAC for bludgeoning damage: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6. Jatri doesn't take usual penalties for charging due to Ferocious Charge, and his Entropic Strike targets EAC even though it's dealing bludgeoning damage.

Jatri ignores the enemies, who don't seem all that dangerous despite their posturing, and focuses on setting the charge. I really would move, if I were you, he tells the nearby grioth. Do I have to choose whether to attempt to set it as a standard action or a full action, or do I make the check and it's a full action if I fail? If he has to choose one way or the other, Jatri will just take the full round as he has a low chance of success.

Crap! Sorry. Minor health issue + "not sure what I can do here to help" = "I will set this one aside for the moment and post [later]" Jatri helps check out the passages, keeping an eye out for danger. He doesn't notice anything the others haven't already spotted. "I'll take a charge, or the detonator," says Jatri, "I have to make up for being remarkably unhelpful against the craggolks." Jatri squeezes into the cave, and then maneuvers awkwardly around. Maybe he can draw them away from Ursula somehow, but he isn't sure how best to look like a good target. He's a little unnerved that the shot had no effect. He thinks of the grenades,

That's a craggolk, Jatri says when he sees the corpse, they're the only things that live here. They feed on the radioactive ice, so they're radioactive and resistant to cold. Caught off-guard by the emergence of the swarm, though, for that he merely because articulates, "Yerg!"

Looking from himself to Ursula, he reaches up to touch the ceiling and adds, I can think of something else we're not built for. Hopefully we aren't going to be exploring any place built by goblins or ysoki... |
