In my current Skulls and Shackles game, I only have three regular players. The players decided to recruit Rossie Cusswell to their cause and often picking her to help them out with task, so they taken a shine to little halfling. The group just hit level 3, I think it would be a good idea to level Rossie up as well, keeping up with parties level as long they're using to fill up their fourth slot. So any suggestions on what feats and skill she should take as she levels up? What type of combat build should she go for? Right now I'm thinking of keeping her straight fighter as the group consist of rogue, sorcerer, and cleric.
I would like to suggest moving the each of the bonus spells that sorcerers receive up one level earlier. That way they gain their bonus spells on even levels instead of odd levels. During my pathfinder play test the player playing the sorcerer gave me lot a feedback. It was slightly frustrating for him that cleric and druid in the party would get their higher level spells a level before him. What even frustrated him more was, when he did catch up to next spell level he only had one spell to choose from (without using metamagic to compensate). We also notice that sorcerer already gets a lot new spells at their odd levels already, sometimes getting up to three new spell known (not including the bonus spell) and a lot times only one new spell known at even levels. This lessen the impact of gaining a bonus spell a lot. Plus they also gain almost all their bloodline feats and powers at odd levels as well. On semi related note, the character decided to play the fey bloodline, for most part he liked the bonus spells but there was a few we had problems with. Deep Slumber – Getting at this spell at level 7 and with the hit die cap made the life span of this spell usefulness very short. Possible solution would be get the spell a level earlier or change the spell were the hit die cap = caster level. Poison – As written this spell uses the character wisdom modifier for its save. His character didn’t have high wisdom score, they felt using a touch spell was not worth the risk of close combat with such low saving throw DC. Possible solution would be make poison DC work just like any other spell, or allow fey bloodline sorcerers to use their charisma modifier instead of wisdom Tree stride – This spell becomes almost useless if the fey bloodline sorcerer decide to pick up ether dimensional door or teleport. Which makes me wonder are sorcerers allowed to replace their bloodline bonus spells later as they gain levels?
