Aluric's younger brother by over 20 years, Jarlith is flip side to his brother in almost every possible way. Young, liberal, and far more mysterious than his brother ever was, Jarlith spent much of his young life aiding his brothers and parents around the farm until the tender age of 7, at which time he left Golden Fields and moved to Lowerborough to start an apprenticeship with a local blacksmith to learn the trade. There he stayed for another half dozen years, learning the craft of bending and shaping metal to his needs. After that though his history has become something closer to a thing of myth, the older farmers tell tales of him traveling the frontier, studying the skills to shape iron from the mouths of the best smiths in the land. Other speak of him conscripting with the legion as an engineering consultant, crafting weapons, armor, and even bridges and fortifications alongside the legionnaires as they sought to further stabilize the frontier for everyone. Regardless during this time his whereabouts were virtually unknown, with only the sporadic word back home. Many believed he would never return to Golden Fields, having either found himself greater opportunities else where or in a shallow grave somewhere in the frontier.
But, like a stray cat he returned about 5 years ago soon after his mothers death. He was greeted with open arms and somber joy and has stayed on the property ever since. Currently his primary job is working as the farms head blacksmith, patching and repairing the most important or egregiously damaged items on the farm and leading any other repair crews currently operating on site. He is known as a nice if quiet young man with an eye for his craft and a skill at directing others in its execution. When not working though he can often be found in the back of the barn, swapping stories with Martin Marius and idly working on his own projects when he has the time. Whispers about his current side projects always make their rounds through the workers with rumors ranging from new ploughs and farming equipment to secret technology he smuggled back from his time with the legion.
