In my case, tbf I was tempted to go the Pyros route. I had my own evoker, and failing that it might have gone full Archer Inquisitor-style of bullfeather (Bane arrows and something)

Glad I didn't, ultimately.

I can still cast level 2 spells five more times, so in theory it should be more than enough to cover Thurl's spell.

Jannaria will probably be slightly disappointed that she will not entirely hold her part of the bargain of letting Muhlia land the last shot, but she can also see Pyros' logic of leaving nothing to chance. Still she will cast a spell to make sure that she still have her senses until the end, or at worst, until when the consequences will be minimal.

She casts Suppress Charms and Compulsions in order to counter any ongoing enchanting effects for a bit. With the ongoing effects, Beidou is at -4, Thargash at no damage, Redgar at -2, but Jannaria will be at -53 HP

Will save: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28
Confusion percentage 1 round: 1d100 ⇒ 85

Confused for a couple of seconds, Jannaria attacks Beidou like this is a very normal thing to do as nobody really knows for how long she will stay that way until the effect wears off.

Attack roll: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Confirm: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Damage gauntlet: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Extra damage if confirmed: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

So Lifelink was counted, so I only need to account for Shield Other, so Jannaria would be at -16 but Redgar at -13

Silver Crusade

Female Human Oracle 13 - HP : 146/146 - AC 39/T 20/FF 31 - Initiative +15 - saves : Fort +15, Ref +19, Will +15, Perception +20

Jannaria doesn't seem overly fazed by Redgar being pinned, because she is prepared for such an occasion. Before it is actually her time to act, she casts a spell on Redgar to try to grasp him free for that pin.

The immediate action in round 2 would allow me to specifically cast Liberating Command on Redgar who now can do an Escape Artist attempt at +20 bonus on the check.

Now this is her time proper, six seconds later, she tries to cast a spell on Thurl, not sure on whether she can actually pierce through, but she needs to try regardless.

SR check: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35

She manages to get through Thrul's resistance to try to set up a nice influencing spell.

Forbid Action, Greater - Attack, Will save DC 28 negates, if fail, unable to do any attack action for 13 rounds. Due to the Lifelink, she would be at -9 HP, but Redgar at -1

Jannaria isn't opposed to let Muhlia get the fatal blow, but it hinges on being able to neutralize Thurl first in any shape or form.

Silver Crusade

Female Human Oracle 13 - HP : 146/146 - AC 39/T 20/FF 31 - Initiative +15 - saves : Fort +15, Ref +19, Will +15, Perception +20

Jannaria starts at -4 HP, then takes half of what Redgar got, so 11 there, so she would be at -15 after that. Then Lifelink kicks in and she would take 5 more, so she would be at a total of -20 HP, but in return Redgar takes 15 less than he should, so would be at -6 instead.

Recovering her senses, she sees her tiger is cowering in fear, but she will continue despite that. She doesn't feel in immediate danger, so she moves a little bit and decides to heal herself given her offensive spells have very little chance to get through.

Cure Moderate Wounds: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (2, 4) + 10 = 16

Jannaria is at -4 after the spell

Silver Crusade

Female Human Oracle 13 - HP : 146/146 - AC 39/T 20/FF 31 - Initiative +15 - saves : Fort +15, Ref +19, Will +15, Perception +20

Will save tiger: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17

The tiger retreats away in fear and Jannaria herself is permanently insane, needing a window to heal herself out of it, without being sure she can do so.

Gotta disable either Green or Blue real fast

Jannaria would have been closer to the entrance before entopening the door, so moving her accordingly.

So the combat starts and she knows what she will be doing in an almost metronomic and dispassionate manner.

She casts Prayer, if needed with the SR check

SR: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25

She then orders her tiger to move and attack what looks like a medium living creature to the closest of them.

bite attack roll: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (7) + 19 = 26

Jannaria would prefer to focus on kicking Thurl's demonic face while the spells are running, but understands that the party wants to stop for a little bit to detect if there's anything else to loot, so that's what she also does.

Perception: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (12) + 20 = 32

I wanted to say Cold instead of the first time I said Resist Energy, Fire but I didn't see it until now. So in theory the four main elements should be covered now

Silver Crusade

Female Human Oracle 13 - HP : 146/146 - AC 39/T 20/FF 31 - Initiative +15 - saves : Fort +15, Ref +19, Will +15, Perception +20

She doesn't want to get surprised either, so she does the same thing, just that she doesn't think she will actually be able to, relative to her colleagues. But with some luck, who knows ...

Perception: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (13) + 20 = 33

" I suppose it's time to throw most of what I still have given we're approaching the endgame with Thurl. I just hope that it's not the wrong choice. "

Jannaria casts Resist Energy 30, Communal on Electricity, Fire and Acid, somebody else will have to cover Fire, each instance of the spell lasts 22 minutes per target given there's six, tiger included.

Casting Freedom of Movement on Thargash, Tiger and Beidou
Delay Poison, Communal
Rags to Riches on the Tiger's armor, Magic Vestment should still be active, I'll probably also target my Celestial Armor. With a second instance of the spell, Beidou's weapon and armor will get an extra +1 on top of existing enchantments. A third instance of the spell will buff Redgar's weapon and armor unless the pieces are already +5. Spell text is there : https://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/r/rags-to-riches/

I'll compute the modifications on my sheet later. What I can confirm is that I have no level 4 slot left, and maybe 1 level 3 spellcasting. Other levels are mor or less fine in that aspect.

Female Human Oracle 13 - HP : 146/146 - AC 39/T 20/FF 31 - Initiative +15 - saves : Fort +15, Ref +19, Will +15, Perception +20

As she understands that Thurl had the intention of sacrificing Muhlia since quite a while ago, she elects to cut it short and try to break it to her nicely enough, but frankly at the same time.

" From what I understood from the scroll, Thurl had the intention of finishing his transformation into a high-level demon by numerous means, including the sacrifice of a close ally, and I'm afraid in this case it was meaning you. Any ideas of what kind of demon he could have turned into ? Provided that you were privy to that detail, unless you were kept in the dark, which would make sense too. "

If deciphering requires ten minutes, I would spend spellcasting capacity to refresh the spells in min/level or less that will certainly have lapsed

Silver Crusade

Female Human Oracle 13 - HP : 146/146 - AC 39/T 20/FF 31 - Initiative +15 - saves : Fort +15, Ref +19, Will +15, Perception +20

She looks at the scroll, and initially nothing is ringing an immediate bell. But as somebody knowledgeable on Planar languages, she reacts like, wait a minute ... this is quite obscure, but this is Abyssal regardless.

" Everyone ... I think I know exactly what this scroll is, and you might not like it ... certainly wasn't a bad idea to remove it from his grasp. "

Offtopic I know what the scroll is, but I'll wait for you to explicit it

What Pyros is saying in turn is more or less what she was thinking, but she goes a bit more into detail towards the former Qadiran faction head.

" Fancying helping us getting back at him ? No need to overexpose yourself to danger, if your skills are what I think they are, you might just as well wait one of us, my tiger included, to act as a punching bag first, then you get your little kick to the gut. "

She doesn't expect Muhlia Al-Jakri to actually agree to that, but hopefully her argument sounds reasonable enough that she does.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 36 ⇒ (1) + 36 = 37

Hopefully a 1 on a skill dice doesn't mean an auto-fail ... unlucky. Already used my reroll, oof

In the case a second try is needed, Jannaria tries again, hopefully without appearing too pushy.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 36 ⇒ (12) + 36 = 48

" Not a lot, I suppose. You do what you have to do, I won't be the one to blame you, as the follower of Sarenrae I am, that would be quite bad of me. Just how far you have been ready to go to get isn't what I can necessarily accept.

This despite having witnessed some of the worst behaviour known to living beings, from having to pretend to play nice while verbally fighting the Aspis Consortium at Alabastrine, to choose to help Suliji Peshar kill most of their Patrons, if not all. What I am ready to compromise for the sake of the bigger picture, I do not know, but may I not have to dirty my hands any more. At least I can take solace when I was younger to having helped free Ranginori, the Duke of Thunder. "

She pays attention to not mention her likely relative whose picture is in the locker, still

It sounds like she will be the one to volunteer for that little bit of talking. She easily recognizes Muhlia Al-Jakri considering the briefing of the group, and the picture in the locket, even if she hasn't met her directly in the past, her personal history with the Society is well know at this point.

But she isn't one to engage in petty revenge. Even if she disagrees with her actions, she can emphasize to some degree. She starts to speak in a short way, but non-threateningly.

" Hello, Ms. Muhlia Al-Jakri. I think you know who sent us, so it's no point to name them. I'm just trying to understand why you went as far as to ally with Thurl. "

The combat finishes a bit earlier than she expected, so she regroups everyone for a channel healing instead of doing her usual routine.

Channel healing: 7d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 5, 3, 1, 3, 5) = 25

Then given she still is a Pathfinder at heart and that she needs to earn her paycheck by recovering sufficient amounts of loot, although without completely pillaging the location. She uses a wand of Heightened Awareness to help in this endeavour, no miracles, but a little maybe with extra help ...

Perception: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (1) + 22 = 23

Given that if needed, she can fly again with her Celestial Armor, she doesn't care too much about the trap, although others might not be on the same page about it. But otherwise, this time she sees nothing, as far as she's concerned, nothing remains here. Hopefully others might see more.

Shield Other is lasting on hours/level, so I didn't need to recast it, so I just write to remind it's still there.

So Beidou would initially take 7 damage, Jannaria takes the other 7, so she would be at 134/146, so -12 HP, and Beidou at -7

The underboss reveals self being on a direct line of sight of the tiger, so she hopes, otherwise, she will order the tiger to maul with everything possible, otherwise only with the bite. She casts that versatile spell just so as to help the party.

Casting Blessing of Fervor, the tiger chooses increasing the speed by 30 feet

The tiger, encouraged by Jannaria, tries to pounce at the new arrival, likely standing right above the enemy in the process

Where's the new creature in the map ? If the tiger can pounce, temporary -2 to AC. Feel free to discount the damage of the attacks that missed. if only single attack due to obstacles, only count the bite

Bite attack: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (13) + 20 = 33
Claw attack 1: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (18) + 19 = 37
Claw attack 2: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (11) + 19 = 30
Rake attack 1: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (2) + 19 = 21
Rake attack 2: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (9) + 19 = 28

Bite damage: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Claw damage 1: 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Claw damage 2: 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Rake damage 1: 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Claw damage 2: 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

If there's some successful attacks, the tiger will try to grab the creature, given both are large probably, if huge, doesn't count, if full round, the tiger can attempt to grab with claw and rake

Bite grapple: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (5) + 23 = 28
Claw grapple 1: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (16) + 23 = 39
Claw grapple 2: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (2) + 23 = 25

She doesn't speak Draconic properly, so that's quite problematic for what she's trying to do. Otherwise she will try to make the best use possible of her practice of Ignan.

Linguistics: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18

What she tries to do is casting a spell to try to forbid all of these flying creatures from attacking them. But she isn't sure it's going to be successful, because her attempts at trying to pretend knowing what's essentially an unknown language initially not successful. But she has no shame trying again.

Using the proverbial Purple dot of shame, I add +4 on the roll since I am a 4-star GM

Linguistics: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (9) + 21 = 30

Casting Forbid Action, Greater, I have enough caster level to target all of them. SR check if needed

Will save DC 28, save negates or being forbidden to make any action involving targeting somebody else, including AOEs. DC should normally be 25, but it's upgraded by 3 because of the Peacemaker feat and the Mediator trait since the spell doesn't provide a long term control

She then requests her tiger to move and attack the flying creature which is the lefternmost of the area, and tries to bite once, but the tiger completely misses the point.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (15) + 20 = 35

She managed to identify its properties, but what focuses her mind is on the picture inside the locket, she has kind of a guess of who she might be, but will only have a definite opinion when they'll reach Mulhia Al-Jakri. More immediate pressing point is to climb down the stair.

Jannaria tries to think about how to disguise herself as a dwarf, but after some thinking she comes to the realization that her disguise isn't good enough, nor that she memorized the adequate spell for it.

" Flying it is then. "

Hopefully, the Life Bubble spell will allow them to withstand the hyper heat that the geyser releases, but it's not a guarantee. Otherwise, although Jannaria fancies the nice teaching Borsaget is throwing, she doesn't think that she will bring that in any social event without incuring not so good consequences.

" At least there's something I can say when I feel the need to cuss with nobody around. You would be almost at home in the social balls, ceremonies and else that are organized almost daily in Taldor. How dirty people might be there, ha. "

The skull looks like one could talk some of the crudest language as long it's in good nature, that allows her to do some little counter-ribbing initially :

" Oh we were just intending to do a little tomb robbing. My organization, the Pathfinder Society, has a a very nice reputations when it comes to looting, ya know ... ! "

She then goes more seriously :

" We have been instructed by representatives of our leadership, the Decemvirate, to come there because two of our worst enemies have taken refuge inside, following some campaign of misinformation from us. They apparently sealed themselves and the priest of Magrim, Kolm Durrendar, requested our help in flushing them out, and that's what we intend to do.

Any information that can help us navigate this dwarven architecture ? "

Jannaria sounds the best placed to do it, from what's around the group. Hopefully she doesn't make any social error when she adresses what looks like the Skull of Borsaget like this, initially in Common, and then in Dwarven if the former doesn't work :

" Wake up, Borsaget ! Some of your still living colleagues have asked us to clean up the ossuary, or otherwise need you right now. Any pointers about what we should do ? "

Matter-of-factly but polite, she will only adjust for the better or worse once this initial contact is made.

I thought the first instance of Terrible Resolve was already resolved so that's why I rolled myself the second Will saving throw so as to accelerate that part. But then I saw the damage due to the failed first saving throw wasn't done yet, so I chose to delete. Rolled a 14 on the d20 dice just in case of

Jannaria elects to do nothing this turn and let her tiger do the homework, as she already contributed quite a bit, and further doesn't seem necessary. Without other instructions, the tiger then continues to try to claw the monster little by little.

Jannaria moves a bit closer to the monster in the north to have a clear line of sight. After that, she doesn't think she needs to throw anything too big, she might regret it as an oversight later, but she can't know the abilities for sure.

Casting Terrible Remorse on Blue if it works, Blue needs to make Will save DC 24 for partial effect. Link to the spell below, copy pasting the paragraph following suit :

https://aonprd.com/SpellDisplay.aspx?ItemName=terrible%20remorse

You fill a target with such profound remorse that it begins to harm itself. Each round, the target must save or deal 1d8 points of damage + its Strength modifier to itself using an item held in its hand or with unarmed attacks. If the creature saves, it is staggered for 1 round and takes a -2 penalty to Armor Class, after which the spell ends.

SR check: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32

Regardless of these circumstances, the tiger pounces on the same target assuming the monster in front has been deleted. If not, will try to finish Red. She doesn't expect her tiger to do a lot of damage, but every bit counts.

If charging on Blue, the tiger suffers -2 penalty on AC until the start of my next turn. If red still there, remove -2 on the attack rolls, said penalty and the rakes from the rolls that count.

Jannaria uses an efficient if unimaginative strategy which is to open up with the same thing all the time. She brings out another scroll out of her spring-loaded wrist sheath and tries to use a scroll of Haste. Her attempt at activating it is successful so targets the same targets like last time. With that acceleration, the tiger barely has enough speed to move towards the big target and try to attack once. She's not sure it's actually a hit, but if it's the case, the tiger will try to munch with glee considering being actually trained to attack anything.

Beidou, Tiger, Thargash, Pyros, Redgar again get haste. With that spell the AC of the animal companion goes temporarily to 44. With haste the attack roll should be at +19, it will be reflected in future attacks for this combat

She sees Beidou finish the last minotaur off. She doesn't mind either immediately escorting the dwarves back to the entrance or focusing on continuing the journey first, but the latter has ultimately been decided.

But she wouldn't feel great without helping the dwarves to wait for their comeback. She requests them to regroup and then channels positive energy to heal them. As they are reaching a narrower corridor, she doesn't really want to have a nasty surprise either, seeing how her teammates are reacting on their own. If nothing else, she waits for the melees to move first, but she will follow seconds after.

Channel healing the dwarves: 7d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 6, 2, 5, 5, 4) = 28
Perception on slide 5: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (2) + 20 = 22

She hopes that the last minotaur will be dispatched soon. Regardless of whether this is the case, she tries to anticipate what she might do in the next seconds. The first idea that she has in mind would be trying to see if there's anything of interest inside or around the altar in the centre of the dais, either by magical or mundane means.

I would be doing a perception check there once the combat is finished + casting detect magic

Perception: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (9) + 20 = 29

Just in case of, for Burst of Radiance if that changes anything regarding the Minotaur's health :

https://www.aonprd.com/SpellDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Burst%20of%20Radiance

The damage happens whether the saving throw is succeeded or not, what depends of it is whether the creature is blinded or not (in this case, the minotaur barely made the DC so not blind)

That was fast ! Well sounds like Orange is the only target left, so going for that one

Recalculating the tiger's attack rolls and damage since I forgot to modify these post-buff application. It should reflect better on the profile. I'll remove these if the spells lapse.

Jannaria feels herself inclined to be a bit more active. Nothing worse than a minotaur testing positive to demonic' energies. She moves and then tries to throw a controlling spell at the creature. She doesn't have any guarantees it will work, but she has for the moment enough reserves that she feels she can afford the expense, though the fight doesn't strictly needs it, it's not a big one anyway. Given the area of effect of the spell, she casts it in a way it doesn't impact Redgar, in case of possible collateral damage.

Casting Burst of Radiance, Reflex save DC 20 for partial effect,

Damage regardless of the saving throw: 5d4 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 2, 4) = 15
If reflex save failed blind for: 1d4 ⇒ 2 rounds

The tiger has been trained to attack any target, so with two smaller minotaurs close, doesn't hesitate at all.

The tiger activates Power Attack and has enough animal intelligence to 5-ft step to get in range of the yellow minotaur too. By default haste would go with the bite attack. Not sure when Orange will fall first, it's the first minotaur I'd target, then yellow thereafter.

attacks with a bite: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25
attacks with a hasted bite: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22
attacks with a claw: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16
attacks with a claw: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27
damage bite 1: 1d8 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24
damage bite 2: 1d8 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23
damage claw 1: 1d6 + 16 ⇒ (6) + 16 = 22
damage claw 2: 1d6 + 16 ⇒ (6) + 16 = 22

You can see the tiger's AC at the bottom of the " About the character " section of the profile. It's at 38 with the buffs I threw, but with haste this is at 39. You have the breakdown of the bonuses right after that.

So the 25 misses

The list of preppings that I'll be doing is there, if there's more to come, it will probably be during the adventure :

- Lifelink on everybody else, my animal companion (tiger) included
- Shield Other on Beidou, Tiger and Redgar
- Resist Energy, Communal 30 (Fire), 130 minutes to be divided on six targets, so 21-22 minutes
- Magic Vestment on my heavy steel shield and on the Mithral Chain Shirt of my tiger
- Aspect of the Wolf on my tiger
- Air Walk, Communal, 130 minutes / 6 = 21-22 minutes
- Shield of Faith on my tiger if we know the timing of when we get closet to that, if not, it's not casted
- Heroes' Feast
temp HP: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
- Magic Circle against Evil

Seeing that she's the fastest around this time, Jannaria is still not deviating from her usual plan of buffing the hell out of the party. Given this isn't normally part of the oracle's spell list, she gets a scroll out of a Spring-loaded wrist sheath and tries to cast it through mimicking being a wizard, which she does with pure instinct such is her confidence.

Use Magic Device: 1d20 + 39 ⇒ (11) + 39 = 50

Beidou, Tiger, Redgar, Thargash, Pyros get hasted. Only five targets as it's a CL 5 scroll so I exclude myself from it. I send the tiger double moving towards one of the regular minotaurs, I assume the ruined Walls kind of block the possibility of a pounce.

She doesn't want to send her tiger to face the biggest threats yet because she doesn't know their abilities, so she sends her companion towards one of the smaller ones instead. As for herself, after using the scroll, she moves a little bit.

Sorry for the confusion/indecision/insert.

When I asked for input to somebody else, I got pointed out to that blog which dates from a little more than two years ago :

https://paizo.com/community/blog/v5748dyo6si94?March-2023-Organized-Play-Mo nthly-Update=

I don't always read the blogs so that's how I missed it, but essentially the Organized Play Coordinator said in response to a question from the Finnish Venture-Lieutenant that he doesn't see why a same adventure couldn't be replayed multiple times.

Unless this changed since then (possible), I'm luckily on the safer side staying. In this case, I burn a replay, that's to be expected

Surprisingly for her, Janna looks even unable to have a high grasp on the religious aspects, she's an oracle, not a cleric, so her connection to the divine is a bit more abstract, but she will still try to understad one thing or two about the runeplates :

Janna - Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

She luckily recalls enough to remember some of their properties, but with the feelings there's more to them.

Jannaria, it looks like we have four others. Would you like me to remove you from the table?

Looks like we will be playing high subtier, normal mode, with 4-player adjustment. Please fill out the sign in sheet to confirm this, and make your boon roll, as that needs to be submitted long before the end of the convention.

That's where it gets complicated. Before I went to sleep, Redgar didn't yet join the table (it was past midnight for me in Europe) so I was definitely staying, but then I wake up and I see his fighter. So that brings the table up to five players.

Now the risk is that it might remove the 4-player adjustment : 5 players and an 13.6 APL - though I don't know the exact details of it, it's a long time since I have seen any of that.

Though for party balance purposes : Druid, Bloodrager and fighter make three martials, John brings a cleric-based evoker, and I was intending to bring out a pure support. If I do leave the table, that would either mean they take the risk of lacking some of that balance, or they change of character as fast as possible.

I don't mind either way, it's your call and that of the players.

Most of the info on my char should be available in the profile. I still need to throw details on my animal companion (11 HD tiger) I'll do it when I get back home from work

Passing on that roll since I only come to round up the table to 4

(I'm Philippe Lam, Janna is the character I'll play. Will depict her overall abilities soon)

I usually do not play PbP so her profile is a bit off, I'll update her to avoid any possible confusion (she's level 13)
