Special Abilities
--------------------
Darkvision (60 feet) You can see in the dark (black and white vision only).

Sphere Casting - Spell points 5/5 (+1 level, +1 traditions, +3 constitution), Caster level 0(1 for alteration sphere)
Traditions:
Magical Signs: Your magic is accompanied by a tell-tale sign; for example, your body glows brightly, the sound of tortured souls shriek as you cast, feelings of a deep chill affect all creatures within 30 ft. All nearby creatures know when you are using magic, as well as the nature of the magic used.
Painful Magic: Your magic consumes you the more you rely on it. You must pass a Fortitude save (DC 10 + 1/2 the ability’s Caster Level) whenever you use magic, or be sickened for 1 round. If you use magic while sickened, you must pass a Fortitude save (DC 10 + 1/2 the ability’s Caster Level) or be nauseated for 1 round.
Somatic Casting: You must gesture to cast spells—a process that requires you to have at least 1 hand unoccupied. When using magic, you cannot wear armor heavier than light without incurring a chance of arcane spell failure.
Draining Casting: Using magic saps your lifeforce. Using any sphere ability deals you 1 point of nonlethal damage which cannot be healed through any means except rest. This increases to 2 points at 5th caster level, 3 points at 10th caster level, 4 points at 15th caster level, and 5 points at 20th caster level. Creatures immune to nonlethal damage cannot gain this drawback.
Fortified Casting: You may use your Constitution as your casting ability modifier if it is higher than your usual casting ability modifier. You must possess the Draining Casting drawback to select this boon.
Lycanthropic: (Requires Alteration) You can only target yourself with your shapeshift ability. You cannot gain the Mass Alteration nor Ranged Alteration talents.

Alteration Sphere
-Greater transformation, Dragon transformation
give 2 traits to Forms.

Forms:

Base: Unlike other forms, the Blank Form does not change the creature’s basic makeup. They do not gain the +10 bonus to Disguise checks, nor do they lose their abilities, equipment, natural attacks, or any other aspect of their unaltered form. The Blank Form allows a caster to add traits to a creature without fundamentally changing the target first.

Dragon:The target gains a head, 4 legs with all the benefits of being a quadruped, a 40 ft move speed and a tail. The target gains a +2 natural armor bonus which increases by 1 per 5 caster levels, Darkvision 60 ft, a bite attack (Primary, 1d6, 1d4 small) and a breath weapon. This breath weapon is either a 60 ft line or a 30 ft cone, and deals either fire, electricity, acid, or cold damage as chosen at the time it is gained. The breath weapon deals 1d8 damage per 2 caster levels, and allows a Reflex save for half damage. The target must wait at least 1d4 rounds between uses of their breath weapon. A target may only possess one breath weapon at a time.

Traits:

• Darkvision 60 ft
• Low-light vision
• 2 claw attacks (Primary attacks, 1d4, 1d3 small, requires
arms). You may grant this trait multiple times.
• 1 bite attack (Primary attack, 1d6, 1d4 small, requires
head). You may grant this trait multiple times.
• 1 gore attack (primary, 1d6, 1d4 small, requires head).
You may grant this trait multiple times.
• 2 slam attacks (primary, 1d4, 1d3 small, requires arms).
You may grant this trait multiple times.
• 2 pincers (secondary, 1d6, 1d4 small, requires arms).
You may grant this trait multiple times.
• You change the target’s cosmetic appearance. This
could include changing the target’s apparent age, making
an elf into an orc, disguising a large dog as a small
pony, changing a male into a female, or some other such
alteration. This grants the target a +10 bonus to Disguise
checks. This trait may only be applied to the Blank Form,
as such changes are assumed with other forms.
• A breath weapon, as that given by the dragon base
form.
• Double the size of a breath weapon (must possess a
breath weapon to gain this trait).

Nature Sphere - Fire:

Manipulate Lava (instantaneous or concentration, requires lava): You may manipulate lava. This is exactly the same as the vortex and freeze powers from the water package, except you must spend an additional spell point for each ability, and you must target lava. Frozen lava becomes obsidian, with a hardness of 5 and 3 hit points per caster level and does not deal damage per round to trapped creatures.

Create Fire (concentration, no requirements): You may produce a Diminutive-sized magical fire that burns without fuel. This fire may be 1 size category larger per 5 caster levels, and may be used to ignite flammable materials to create self-sustaining, non-magical fire. If a target is within the area of the created fire, they suffer damage as normal for that fire’s size and catch fire. A successful Reflex save halves the damage and negates catching fire.

Affect Fire (concentration, requires fire): You may affect a normal, non-magical fire, increasing or decreasing its size by one category, plus one per 5 caster levels. This is only a temporary change; once the effect ends, the fire returns to its normal size. The fire consumes fuel and deals damage as appropriate for its new size, according to Table: Maximum Fire Size.

The minimum caster level required to affect a fire is also given in the chart. If two casters are affecting the same fire in the same direction (increasing or decreasing) only the strongest change occurs. If two casters attempt to affect fire in opposite directions
(one making it bigger, one making it smaller), the second caster must succeed at a magic skill check.

On a success, their ability functions normally, overlapping the first caster’s effect. The fire counts as its altered size for determining if the second caster can affect it.

If a creature is on fire, treat that fire as being Tiny sized (1d6 damage) for the purpose of this effect. When you affect a fire on a creature, you also raise or lower the Reflex save DC to put the fire out by 1/2 your caster level (minimum: 0).

Long Background:
Jamahzin Grew up in the Ridgeback tribe, a Tribe that housed itself in a mountain range and unusually close to the surface for a Kobold tribe, the Tribe was considered fortunate for it had a Red Dragon or more appropriately it had us. The Dragon, Virolek, was pretty large and the tribe served it by defending it's Hoard while it was away and by improving and defending it's lair whether it was away or not. Jamahzin Managed to become one of the better trap makers for the tribe and as such it became his job to set up several of the traps in the Dragons lair. He thought it was an enjoyable life, being able to tinker with this or that to defend his home, but ultimately it was all for not as one day the one thing dragons fear came, Adventurers. Apperently some nearby human settlement didn't like paying tribute to our Master Dragon and hired adventurers to deal with him. They managed to get past Jamahzin's Traps, this astounded him, but even then they managed to get past our best warriors, and the thing the shook his world was the final part, they managed to defeat and kill Virolek.

After that the Tribe was broken and scattered, Jamahzin ran for the Surface since it was the closest path to escape. It was still Day probably noon with how much it hurt to be outside, others were retreating the same way, they had cut a straight path to the dragon's lair, but still most of the warriors were dead and a large portion of the place had been destroyed either by traps or the adventurer's tampering. Also from word of some of those who escaped outside a bit later the adventurers were setting about to loot the Tribe's hold as well. Some 20 or so tribe members had escaped the same way Jamahzin had, they decided they should stay together for the time being. though they had very little resources.

----------------------------------------------------------

Kobolds don't count time in years or months, those were set about from the solar and lunar cycles, something most kobolds don't conscern themselves with, but I, Jamahzin, was about 14 Years old when all of the above happened. It was one year ago so a human would probably say I was 15. The few that escaped together we tried to find another place to set up or look around for other kobolds who had survived but we weren't that fortunate. We failed to find any evidense of nearby kobolds. We decided to set up in a dense forest down the mountain, the trees protected us from the sunlight somewhat. However with no real digging tools to us we couldn't really manage to get back to what we were used to, we had to sustain ourselves on the surface, it was really strange the first few weeks, it was just so bright, everywhere, even in our makeshift den. We managed to dig ourselves a small shelter under a large tree, however whenever it rained it flooded to we had to build our actual rooms and storage a few feet above the ground. We lost a few members to wolves, after that we made sure to always travel in groups.

The First winter hit us hard, we were so used to living deep underground that we wondered why any intelligent creature would WANT to live on the surface. We lost over half our members then leaving only 8 including myself. It was either the cold or lack of food, I managed to get by due to my trapping skills, managing to capture game. It wasn't enough though, and I got first dibs by democratic vote since if i became unhealthy it would be harder to hunt. This is how most of the food gathering went, whatever people found they got first dibs on it. It was hard times.

Some time in spring when I was out collecting food with two others, Grytnok and Tyrrell, we came back to another sad sight. The dwelling we had dug was being attacked by humans, or at least humanoids, they wore armor it was hard to tell from a distance. We snuck closer, back at the tribe a few years ago he had learned common from another member to read some books they had captured to become a better trap maker, it ended up helping now. He overheard them talking, apperently they were hired to hunt down the kobolds in the area, like they were to be exterminated. They snuck back and he told them what he heard. They decided that it would be best for them if they split up at this point. They're the only 2 from his tribe that he to this day doesn't know if they're dead or not, they were all good survivalists so it's unlikely the weather got them at this point. all three of them had red scales as most of the Ridgeback tribe had. Grytnok is intelligent and liked to watch before striking, he was a hunter(his class is actually slayer) and was the best at actually killing and capturing the game himself. Tyrrell is female and the youngest of the ones to come with the group, but also seemed to be the best adapted to the surface having little trouble with her eyes, she seemed to gain good knowledge of the plants and animals in the region and helped us track them or find sources of clean water or places to harvest berries(class ranger at the time, but probably retrained as a druid if still alive at this point).

--------------------------------------------------------

It had been severl years since then, I had traveled much avoiding humans or civilized lands. I had a bit of anger constantly in the back of his mind about everything, but felt it would be better if he didn't try to go on any revenge quests. Eventually I found myself in a swamp of some kind, unfortunately for me this swamp was protected by a coven of 3 witches, or maybe as he would later find out fortunately. These witches weren't the kind witches that cured the sick or crafted good luck charms no, they were powerful and spiteful. They were quickly aware of me traveling through the swamp, I was tryign to cross it and avoid any patrols from human villages nearbye. Well, these villages were under the witches domain, but I was captured by a servant of theirs. probably some sort of demon. I was brought before them, the three of them were disfigured and ugly especially by kobold standards, not only did they have smooth human skin but it was wrinkled, but the most disturbing part is that they had additional limbs and mutations that made you question what race they original were. Even their skin color changed hue across their bodies, and they kept their faces covered.

They explained that I had tresspassed into their favorite part of the swamp and as a fine, I would be forced to serve them for one year. I spent time closer to them than I would definitely have liked, performing tasks as a servant to a noble would. I was unable to do anything without their demonic servant watching me. I was forced to build them a shelter in the center of the swamp, they supplied tools but all of this had to be done on my own, while the demon watched. I finished after several months of work to make several buildings of reasonable size for them, my trapmaking came in handy here. Eventually they became lax within my presence, I didn't like them but I followed their orders for now, as even the slight comfort of being safe was something I hadn't had in a long while.

Then the chance came, their magic they would store it in orbs while resting or switching ot othr orbs to do different magics. Well one day they placed one openly in front of me and didn't try to secure it at all, he found that strange, but then not only that but the demon alerted them to something and they left the building. I was left there with a giant crystal orb larger than my head, it seemed to shift colors deeply inside between red, orange and yellow. After some time I approached the orb cautiously listenign for approach. As I touched the orb so much power became apperent to me. It was like suddenly several advanced magics were made utterly obvious. They all had to do with altering life in some way, and an Idea came to me. If I could steal away with the orb maybe I could manage to make something of myself, get a living that wasn't so low as this one. He grabbed the orb with both hands and ran outside. It became apperent that they were probably altered the moment I touched the orb as the witches were hurriedly approaching and the moment they saw me all three of them gasped and yelled "He has it!".

Using the powers that were apperent to me I changed shape into a large olf with the orb in it's mouth and ran, the moment i got to the water, which wasn't too far away, i tried to shape shift into an alligator, however as i did this I felt a tug on the orb and it shot from my grasp, i grappled to regain it while changing and falling. One of the Witches looked to be trying to pull the orb with some kind of magic back to them. As I let go initially I returned to me kobold form only to land on the orb as it smashed into a rock. A shock traveled through my entire body and i looked down at the orb to see an orangish mist traveling from the cracks into me. It hurt a lot, but he knew he had to run now, they weren't going to forgive breaking the orb that was for sure. It was strange he no longer had the orb but he felt like he still knew some of the magic, he transformed into what he could and ran. He realized that he had transformed into a wingless dragon, but it was fine his multiple legs gave him a speed edge on all but the demon. Thankfully it was about as big as he was a kobold, but now he was larger and batted him away with a claw to have him careen off into the water. Luckily for him he was well on his way out of the swamp by the time they could get to any of their magics that could probably stop him.

I made sure to stay away from that swamp for as long as he lived, so I decided to head north. Over time I felt it become harder to maintain his forms and he had to concentrate to keep them without them exhausting himself. Suddenly an idea came to me, I could use this to appear human, then they couldn't do anything to me. He of course got strange looks the first time he attempted this, firstly he had no money at all, 2ndly he had no idea exactly what humans were supposed to look like specifically, it was hard initially, he realized how hard getting by as a human was, no wonder they didn't want to pay tribute to his long ago dragon master, when he thought of how many days worth of food he could get with the tribute that was offered him it really made him feel ashamed for being a part of that. Especially after he started to interact with humans and get better at mimicing them, no wonder kobolds came under such hatred. He felt he needed to do something about this, and without any idea why he started to gather up his money and then one day when he had a aquired several hundred gold pieces worth he decided to approach a town as a kobold.

As I approached the guards branished their spears, I simply replied to this act of aggression with "hail there, I wish to buy goods in this town." It was spoken quite well and this seemed to make the guards questions themselves, they looked amongst themselves confused and eventually one replied "ughm... of course, so long as you have the money and explain what you intend to buy we will allow you inside". This was normal procedure in these lands so I was glad things were running so smoothly. I walked into town shortly after explaining what I intended to buy. First I stopped at General Store and bought a backpack, the shop owner was a halfing, i remember that much. He was shocked when i walked into his store and asked how much the backpack cost in perfect common. He was doubly shocked when i managed to pay for it. I explained that I would be back and then went to the tailor and ordered clothing for someone of my size and shape. once again shocked, all these shocked people made him happy, because they seemed shocked but glad, or perhaps only relieved. He walked out of the tailor a fair amount of time later, his current clothes were mostly scraps and such that the witches had given him, they didn't fit at all and it was mostly just a large shirt, but now he not only had a fitting shirt but pants, now to a normal person it would appear to be pants with 3 legs but actually the third "leg" was for his tappering lizard-like tail. There was a satisfaction he wasn't accustomed to from having this "civilized" clothing. He also bought a cape with a hood and some bags. He made his way back to the general store and now absolutely shocking the halfling with his clothing bought some survival suplies after the halfing explained them to him. His favorite was something called a compass which always showed him his direction even underground.

Then as if everything had fallen together, he heard about the charter, he knew this is what he prepared for, he would gain the respect of the surface dwellers and carve out a place for his kind. His powers which were maturing were going to come in handy that's for sure.

Goals:

find Grytnok and Tyrrell
Unite or take over some kobold tribes and bring them under the kingdom, making sure the kingdom was friendly to them, while also trying to make the kobolds more friendly to other races.(in general pushing their average alignment

to TN or LN)
Become a true dragon through magic(long end goal the character probably isn't too aware of, but the orbs magic is mingling with his dragon heritage to gain power)
