Male Human Fighter 1
Oh well, I understand life often takes you in directions you don't often foresee (Just moved across the US in the last few weeks myself). Good luck and thanks for the experience regardless of how short it was. To the PCs: I really enjoyed the interactions, and the different character personalities. I was looking forward to seeing how this group would grow over time. Good luck to everyone and happy gaming.
Male Human Fighter 1
With sword and shield, Jake will lead the rest of the party keeping about 60 feet between him and the 2 scouts ahead. He'll keep checking the tracks to make sure they don't deviate as well as looking for a possible ambush. Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Male Human Fighter 1
Jake orders an ale and a shot of Dwarven whiskey. He sits down among his comrades and raises his whiskey. "To a successful mission and may we repeat this toast soon."
Dwarven:
"May our swords, shields, hammers, and axes continue to keep our land, friends, and allies alive and safe." With that, Jake downs his whiskey and slowly works on his ale conversing with the party. Enjoy the night off, it's back to work tomorrow.
Male Human Fighter 1
Looking at the two next to him waiting for one of them to speak. Now they want to keep silent? Usually can't shut them up. Then back to the captain. "All right, I guess I'm giving the report. As I was saying we captured one of the scouts. The orcs are 3 days out and planning on invading Lastwall. There is one that is leading the rest, we don't know his name. The captured orc is currently in the prison cell here in the fort if there's more you'd like to know from him."
Male Human Fighter 1
"We came upon a scouting party of 4 orcs. We were forced to engage. We captured one. The other three are buried. The 4th is on his way to the prison cells now with the other three members of our party. Twicks and DuChamp here helped with the interrogation. They can tell you what we learned from the orc." Jake looks over to Twicks and Castor to give their report to the Captain.
Male Human Fighter 1
As the group is ready to get going. Jake will double check the orc's bound hands, making sure they're good and tight, and unbind his legs. Jake will guard the back, marching with Ranseur in hand with the prisoner right in front of him, assuming Jorizer is taking point again. "We should make haste back to the fort. I'll guard the back and keep an eye on the prisoner. If he tries to run, I'll knock him on his ass."
Male Human Fighter 1
Jake thanks Davco and moves to a more strategic vantage point on the outskirts of the camp where he can see everyone that is resting, and be somewhat hidden in the shadows, keeping the bound orc close to him. During watch, Jake has his Heavy Crossbow out. -1 AC w/out shield. Stealth: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 - 4 = 18 Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 If the orc starts making noise, or being a disturbance, Jake will knock him out (non-lethal). . . and smile while doing it. If his watch is uneventful, at the end of his shift, Jake wakes Jorizer. "Your watch."
Male Human Fighter 1
"You two did well. I say we take him back to the fort. He still may offer more information, plus the Captain may want to ask him something we haven't thought of yet." Turning to the bound orc. "Nar Mat Kordh-Ishi Orcish: "What makes you think your tribe can just walk to the front gate of the fort and take us head on."
Male Human Fighter 1
Walking with Davco, Davco: "I don't know what'll happen. We weren't exactly the stealthiest moving toward the camp. Someone gave away our position. Once we were found out, we had no choice but to engage. What's going to happen to the orc, I don't know. I say we take him with us, but my opinion has been in the minority thus far. But you never know what information he might leak. We know where their main camp is by the smoke. We've got 2 more days to find out what they may be up to."
Male Human Fighter 1
Jake walks over to Jorizer glancing down at the heated arrows and back to Jorizer's eyes. "For scaring only. We don't torture and we don't kill needlessly. That's what they do. We're better than them, and so are you. At least I hope you are." Jake turns away from Jorizer toward Twiks. "What are these "tricks" you've got up your sleeve. I hope they're a bit more civilized."
Male Human Fighter 1
"I agree with Castor, we need to set up camp. I'm probably not the best one to question the orc either. Though if he needs to be knocked on his ass again, I'd be happy to help." With that Jake posts up against a tree about 20 feet from the group and keeps watch. He's got his everburning torch out.
Male Human Fighter 1
Dwarven:
"Now you can dismiss that spell of yours." Assuming the dwarf dismisses the Entangle spell, Jake sheathes his sword and gets out some rope. He ties up the unconscious orc, extra tight. I believe the DC for the rope is 20 + my CMB which would be a CMD of 25 for the orc to break out of the rope.
Male Human Fighter 1
Jake attempts to break free of the Entangle.
*SIGH* Quite the mess I've got myself into here. Strength Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19 Finally, fighting with the weeds, Jake is able to free himself of the entanglement, at least for the time being. Dwarven: "Don't worry about me, I'll get myself out of this mess, you just keep the orc where he's at."
Male Human Fighter 1
Jake will attempt to break the entanglement. STR Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 Second move action to try again.
If I can take a 5 foot step,I'll move up toward the orc. Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 to keep from being entangled again. . .or not.
Male Human Fighter 1
Jake takes the pouch off the everburning torch exposing the light. Fighting defensively readies an action to attack an orc as it comes within reach. +2 AC, -4 Attack. Orcish:
"Puny orcs! You're barely worth my time! Come meet your maker! Readied Action: Longsword: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 5 - 4 = 20
Confirm: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 5 - 4 = 12 damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Male Human Fighter 1
Jake thinks on Brother Davco's words for a moment then replies, "Our job is to find out what they're up to. Setting up camp could be setting us up to be ambushed. If we're going to end up in a fight, I'd rather it be on our terms rather than theirs. Let us do the ambushing. If we capture one, we can question him. If we want to follow them to where they're going to camp, we can, but that is risky as well as they can see in the dark, and this group, minus the half-orc and the dwarf, need light which will also lead to a possible ambush. I'd like to hear what the others think, as well as what our leader thinks on the matter." He breaks eye contact with Davco and stares off into the direction of the tracks . . . All this guy wants to do is run. Wasn't even prepared to begin with. Though we need someone to let us know when we're being too aggressive, we also weren't chosen because we're timid. I know I need to be put in check sometimes, and maybe I'm just itching for a fight, but staying put just isn't in my nature.
Male Human Fighter 1
Speaking to the group, but focusing mostly on Jorizer: "If they're close, I say we lure them to us. I have an everburning torch. I throw it on the ground and Jorizer and I will spar, creating battle sounds. The rest of you hide in the shadows of the trees and wait to ambush. They'll see the half-orc fighting a human and they'll either watch or come to Jorizer's aid. Then we turn on them. The torch will provide light for the gnome and us humans, as well as make it easier for the orcs to find us." Jake looks to the others for input . . .
Male Human Fighter 1
Jake looks at Jorizer and pauses before carefully standing and retracing his steps into the creek. "What do you think? A scouting party? If they're continuing South, they might be trying to hit either the southern wall or the Eastern wall to catch us off guard. Following these tracks might give us some insight of their intentions."
Male Human Fighter 1
"The right leader will emerge when it's time. We all know what role we play here, and mine's in front with all of you behind my shield." Jake checks the footprints. Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 Then looking at Jorizer,
While traveling Jake carries his ranseur, unless otherwise noted. I'll keep his AC updated accordingly.
Male Human Fighter 1
Jake does one final check on his gear, making sure all the straps are tight on his armor, shield, and belt. As he's checking he says, to no one in particular, "I came prepared. I've got all the gear I need. If you need to go to the armory, I'll meet you at the gate. Just don't take too long."
Male Human Fighter 1
Jake shakes Jorizer's hand hard and firm and looks him straight in the eye. "Actually, it's me that doesn't trust you. The dwarf was sticking up for you. He is as indifferent to you as he is to the gnome, myself, or the other humans. He has asked me to keep an open mind regarding who my allies are as we are all at war. I will do so, but that doesn't mean I won't keep a watchful eye on you. For now, I will consider you an ally and am hopeful you will prove your worth."
Male Human Fighter 1
Is Ronen Carst Jorizer? Looking over his shoulder at Castor: Dwarven:
"Organized, yes. But competent. . . . still remains to be seen." Jake walks to the Captain's tent with Ragrimm. Looks at him with a smile. Dwarven:
"You are right, my bearded friend. You remind me of my brother, always putting me in my place. Putting things in perspective. M'name's Jake. Jake Hobbes." As they approach the cleric and half-orc, Jake pauses and looks the half-orc up and down absently rubbing his right forearm. After a moment offers his hand to Jorizer. "Name's Jake."
