Hello fellow Pathfinders and Starfinders!

Max Pew has been running the Dead Suns adventure path since Book 1 released, and we are on-track to be completed with the series during the middle of April.

In addition to Starfinder, Max Pew has run Tales from the Loop, Things from the Flood, the Alien RPG, and some one-shots supporting Extra Life.

We would love to have you aboard!

Are PCs limited by item levels on purchases in this run? If not, Sev is considering purchasing a bleeding weapon fusion for his blade.

If so, in this run of "Dead Suns", Sev is considering taking the club and purchasing the disruptive weapon fusion for it.

What the hell, I'll allow it. :P

Our local group has been trying to do something like this for the past few years, and while the spreadsheet has worked well, something like this is an absolute Godsend.

I'm not sure if these features have been requested, but would it be possible to:

1) Create playgroups: Preset groups of players that you can easily add to filters.

2) Statistics view: Let's say the playgroup is store-sized (8+ participants) and you want to see what scenarios are the least played for scheduling purposes.

Thank you very, VERY much for your hard work on this. It's good stuff. :)

Reporting has been completed.

Sorry if the ending feels a bit rushed, please feel free to RP a bit more if the spirit moves you. I'll be rushing home from work tomorrow straight to my hometown where Thanksgiving festivities will commence, so now I no longer have this particular table to worry about while I'm away.

To each and every one of you, thank you so very, very much for your participation in this particular PbP. Tonight caps table #141 and special #9 for me, pushing me ever-closer to my fifth star. I don't have a lot of experience with PbP (hope it wasn't too jarring), but it's always great to see people who are invested and, more importantly, having fun.

Rataji, I apologize for taking a lot of your player agency away during the last combat... It's frustrating at a real table and likely even more-so during a PbP. Thank you for sticking with us.

Zurnzal/Gazwyr, I hope life settles down for you a bit once the marriage is said and done. Best of luck to you and your significant other; I wish you many happy years.

Shohiraj, you played one of the best rogues I've seen in a while. I know how prominent you are on the forums, so while having you at my table was a touch intimidating, I believe I'm better off for it. :P

322, you did creepy well, and those are some of my favorite characters in role-playing. Not just purposefully creepy, but that kinda detached, not-all-there, I-dare-you-to-underestimate-me type of creepy.

Joliryn, you played a solid magus... very judicious with your resources and doing the best you could with what equipment you were granted (a small humanoid swinging a kukri without sneak attack... that's rough). You turned the tide several times during the fight with Aram Zey. If you didn't help prevent a TPK, you at least shortened the fight by a precious round or two.

Marnarius (or should I call you the grizzles old cuss?), you put a lot of oomph into each post and interaction. Your investment into the character and the PbP kept me entertained and motivated to check more frequently than what could be considered healthy human behavior. I'm pretty sure if someone cross-bred MacGuyver and a couponer, your rendition of Marnarius would have fit the bill.

Thank you all again, have a wonderful and awesome thanksgiving, and I hope I have the privilege of being at one of your tables again sometime in the future (either side of the screen suits me).

About to do some early Thanksgiving festivities today, so likely won't be around to update until this evening.

DMK's flowchart is pretty accurate. Swords are an infinite resource, spells aren't.

This shimmering black dust causes one creature to be coated in a layer of darkness for 1 minute.
This first sentence seems to imply it would outline him as a shadowy form and might elevate him from total concealment to just regular 20% concealment that everyone would see as a shadowy figure in the normally lit room.

While I'm not entirely sure the intent of the wondrous item was for use as an offensive item (eg. tanglefoot bag), I'll allow it, just as any other alchemical item.

If you can coat the assailant, I'll rule it like the ol' bag-o-flour trick.

Liberty's Edge

Dearest players,

In spite of having a very solid start with We Be Goblins, the sequel has drug considerably. While most of the break of momentum can be traced to GenCon, it is not entirely at fault, as that think we call life has affected us all in many ways this Summer, some more-so than others.

Since late August, the frequency of posts have dwindled, as have the number of active individuals, and for all intents and purposes, we have not had a "legal table" since probably September.

This being said, I would like to motion to officially conclude this particular PbP, effective November 12th, unless we receive a revival of interest, complete with consisting posting.

Regardless, you, the party, have completed enough encounters to justify credit for this adventure. While I understand you may not want to receive credit with the hopes of returning to this adventure at another time (and hopefully to completion), I will need to report it regardless. Please let me know what character to apply this to, otherwise I will assume "no thank you".

I know some fault lies with myself for not being persistent with reminding people, which is why I don't immediately announce the time of death, but on the flip-side of that coin, we are all grown adults, and as the adage goes, "actions speak louder than words."

Thank you for the opportunity to run for you guys; it was -- and continues to be -- an absolute pleasure.

If you're using a static map (rather than a user-editable one like Google Drawings), it might be nice to have a numbered grid (Letters across one axis, Numbers on the other) so people could have a little more control over where their characters end up.

I've done that with a different PbP where I was using Roll20 as my base. I'm "ever-experimenting", and I may try that with the next battle map.

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Cleric

FYI, the battle maps I am using are "experimental" lol 322, as I've always used something different for every single PbP I've done, and I'm also learning Photoshop by-proxy. That being said, I am open to suggestions and constructive criticism if there is anything I can do to enhance the experience. I know for starters that I will be generating larger maps for added clarity.

So, one month in and finally a combat. :P

In my experience, what seems to work best (in a time crunch) is letting PCs dictate what they want to do, and then, to the best of my ability, I play it out. If there's someplace specific you want to move, feel free to walk me through it, otherwise general ideas such as "north of Zurnzal" or "five-foot step toward the creature" are sufficient.

If you action is contingent on other things happening, then you need to ready/hold as appropriate (because 6-second rounds insinuate snap decisions, not pontificating the perfect chess move).

I'm okay with you making your own rolls. If relevant, I will make saves for you.

Good luck!

Two things...

First, convention the second begins tomorrow, and my Venture Captain who shall remain nameless though would be easily identifiable in about thirty seconds for those industrious enough to look for it has me scheduled for a veritable ton of scenarios this weekend.

Second, this scenario, to be given the justice it deserves, will need more than the six weeks allotted. Considering the encounters to come, we are certainly not halfway through time-wise. You guys are making great progress, and I am absolutely savoring the opportunities to interact with you guys in game. For those who like a little more combat in their lives, don't worry...

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Cleric

Back from convention one. The one night I had an opportunity to check things out, Paizo was down... I'm going to take a moment to settle in and I'll check the boards. Just wanted to give you guys an update and a "thank you" for being patient with me this month.

This might seem like a silly question, but does anyone know if there's a boon for attaching both "Serpents Rise" and "Siege of Serpents" to the same character? It'll make the difference in which PC I choose for this one.

I have no experience with Siege of Serpents, and I don't feel it is very spoiler-y to say that this chronicle "may reward you in future interactions".

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Cleric

Two things real quick-like...

First, there was a request made that PFS# be collected during the early phases of the game... it's slipped my mind to request it until now. You can either reply in this thread with your PFS and character number you want this applied to (or just PFS# if you're playing for no credit), or drop me a PM if you'd prefer.

Second... October is convention season in my area. I have not one, but two conventions coming up for which I'm either staff or volunteering heavily for. This coming weekend (8th through 11th) I will be out of town staffing, but will do my best to update once a day. The weekend of the 16th through 18th, the convention is only about 3 miles from my house, so I should be able to get at least one update each day.

You guys are doing quite well so far; hope you are enjoying the scenario.

Whatever would be legal to purchase for a normal PFS scenario would be preferable, but if there's something you're dying to try, run it by me... it's a one-off and I like a little fun.

Feel free to RP your shopping list... we'll hand-wave the market tedium, but there should certainly be some group consensus/input to make sure you're going in completely prepared.

Ladies and gents:

We are approximately five days from our main event. I hope to have some content in the Gameplay section shortly so, at the very least, we can do some pre-game banter and whatnot. However... product support has yet to come through.

Keep your eyes to the horizon; we'll be going loud shortly.

Awaiting "product support", unless some other enterprising GM who ran it at GenCon has a copy of the pregens someplace on the interwebs. If it takes too long, I'll get copies from my local VC, scan them, and provide them that way.

I would have liked to have had them visible prior to selection, but it's not available for purchase and hasn't dropped in my downloads yet. Stay tuned.

Our starting lineup
1) PJP ("The Artist"; Magus)
2) Greycloak of Bowness ("The Experiment"; Oracle)
3) Mighty Glacier ("The Leader"; Wizard)
4) Seth86 ("The Ambitious"; Brawler)
5) CyrusC2010 ("The Vengeful"; Slayer)
6) Kludde ("The Professional"; Unchained Rogue)

Liberty's Edge

Kludde, welcome aboard! As many times as I've seen your name on the PbP boards, I now know that I can't bring any weak-sauce B-game to the table. :P

Kludde:
As it stands, you and Greycloak would be rolling off to who would be oracle and who would get rogue. Rogue is the only class that hasn't been selected as a "first choice".

Thus far:

1) PJP (MSBWOR)
2) Greycloak of Bowness (OWM???)
3) Mighty Glacier (WOBSRM)
4) Seth86 (BRM???)
5) CyrusC2010 (SROMBW)
6) Kludde (OMWRSB)

And so, our marry band of miscreants has been formed!
