Backstory::

Ixiomar Erodel Albus Voralius III was born to house Voralius. House Voralius. A family of infamous wizards and fiend binders, they were granted their high noble station due to their early support of the sinister Society. It was partially due to their efforts that the Society was able to reach the level of power and influence that it did. Ixiomar began reading on his own at the age of four and cast his first cantrips at the age of eight. Tests done upon him showed that he possessed a peerless intellect and unthinkable magical prowess for a child of his age. A longtime descendant of acanists tracing back to ancient times, Ixiomar represented the peak of genius for his line, indeed perhaps the peak of human genius itself. His parents, spotting his potential early, immediately hired the best tutors in the nation to teach him the secrets of the arcane arts. He proved to be both an eager and promising student, mastering all of the lessons that he was given with peerless aptitude. At the age of ten he was already enrolled in a prestigious Magical Academy to study Conjuration and Demon Binding. Despite his young age, he not only kept up with the other students, many of whom were twice his age or more, but often exceeded them, skipping past several grades of study with uncanny speed. This earned him the hatred of his fellow students who would often gang up on him outside of class, physically abusing him, playing nasty pranks on him, and worse. This only caused Ixiomar to throw himself even deeper into his studies. Often, even his tutors would attempt to outwit him due to their envy for his natural talents. They would give him assignments seemingly impossible for a student of his years to complete, yet each and every time he would overcome what was thrown at him, baffling professor and student alike. Within a record five years Ixiomar was able to graduate the academy with distinguished honors. But it would be only two months after his graduation that Ixiomar's fortunes turned from good to bad. House Voralius was displeased with the way they were being treated by the Society, especially after how much aid they had given the Society in its ascendancy. They perceived that the Society was secretly plotting to overthrow their house and replace it with a weaker one less poised to offer opposition. Eventually, this drove House Voralius to plot the overthrow of the organization. But unfortunately their plans were discovered before they could come to fruition. The lands and holdings of House Voralius were seized and put up for auction. Their allies were captured and publicly tortured in the city square. Their bound demons were released to wreak havoc amongst their house members. Those of the family that could not flee the city were executed in the most embarrassing and painful ways imaginable. Ixiomar's childhood tutors were able to smuggle him past the border and into safety before he could be caught. For the past year Ixiomar has been training amongst a group of likeminded individuals, refining his magical talents and waiting for the day when he will be able to secure his revenge.

Appearance::

Ixiomar stands about five feet four inches tall, with black hair, purple eyes, and pale skin. He is a thin but well proportioned boy, and there's evidence that he still has many years left to grow yet. There is no mistaking his young age, yet he attempts to dress in a professional and academic manner at all times. His clothes are kept fastidiously clean at all times. He always wears a pair of clean white gloves made out of lambskin on his hands, no matter what task he's doing. A pair of spectacles sits upon the edge of his nose. His skin is fair and unblemished, evidence of the lack of physical labor in his life. He's a bit small even for his age. His head is almost always stuffed in a book on some subject or another.

Personality::

Ixiomar is an individual defined by his overwhelming intellect. Practically all of his time is spent in academic pursuits, magical experiments, or research projects for his own amusement. In his spare time, he often frequents Opera houses and various salons existing within the larger cities, debating philosophy and discussing the sciences with anyone who shows enough interest to participate. He loathes the organization that led to the destruction of his family, much preferring his new allies to the oppressive evil he left behind. He's tried to distance himself as much as possible from fiendish influence on his magic, viewing demons and devils as dangerous tools that more often hurt than help. He is very proud of the recent acquisition of his familiar, Nippers, who he views as a peculiar curiosity capable of supplying boundless entertainment. Due to his youth and inexperience, sometimes he can be obtuse when it comes to applying the knowledge that he's learned. Despite his considerable intelligence, he's still a child, and this rears its ugly head every once in a while in instances of profound social awkwardness. He tries to put on the appearance of being older than he is, but sometimes his youth shows through. He can be arrogant and snobbish at times, but is always unaware that he could be offending someone. He means well, even if he isn't always the most mature individual.
