Aaah I'm so glad that art made it into the scenario preview!

I hope everyone enjoys this one!

How were these individuals chosen for these positions, and what qualified them for this designation over other managerial employees within the company, not to mention outside of the staff?
As Lisa covered in her statement, she wanted leaders with industry and business experience to lead the business. I have more than 30 years of experience in the gaming industry, both tabletop and digital. Lisa and I worked together at Wizards on the D&D brand team, so she knew who I was and my work ethic.

(Emphasis mine)

I fail to see how your statement addresses this bolded part of the question. There are others within the company who have just as many years of experience, if not more and they have been with the company longer. If there was no official open position offered then it is impossible to claim that you are the most qualified person for this position out of the entire company.

No one else's credentials were looked at officially. Lisa may know your "work ethic" but if she claims to be a good company leader she should know the "work ethic" of all her other employees as well and be able to compare them in a fair and open job position application process.

How many people here complaining about diversity at Paizo have applied at Paizo? Why not be the change you're talking about.

Coming from a freelancer perspective there are in fact many diverse voices who would qualify for a position with Paizo and have experience in the industry sometimes even over a decade of it. The assumption that these people are not applying when possible is patently false. It is a known issue that Paizo has tendency not to open up positions in development to the public as of late.

Furthermore, there are people trying to make that push towards diversity at other levels of the company as we have seen, and many of these people are also just as likely qualified to fill in leadership positions. But instead, the company has chosen to appoint two new members, one of which has been with the company less than 6 months, neither of which help to add to the diversity that the company has already been accused of suppressing for years now.

The truth is, people would love to be that change (myself included) but the problem is they aren't being allowed to. And while I was truly and very much hoping for a change to that with the Paizo Worker's Union, this blog post has made me very disappointed and now worried that Paizo will not be a part of that change, after all.

I don't like thinking that way.

Paizo executives, please prove me wrong, recognize UPW.

Hey, just wanted to chime in and say "Infinite" was in the works well before the announcement at GenCon. It takes months to plan out something on that level and it was not founded in reliation to our (freelancers) actions.

I'm just chiming in to note to anyone who is concerned, the Twitter thread if you read through it in its entirety does confirm that a "strong majority" of eligible employees have already committed to the effort and the Paizo Workers Union has already been formed.

So whatever the number posted is, it is more than enough and if they are asking us to help push for official recognition from management, then we should help them obtain that.

Thank you! Glad it's worked out, I'm looking forward to it!

Hi, I made this subscription order for Lost Omens: Mwangi Expanse on July 4 and I still haven't received either the pdf or the hardcopy of the book and my payment has already been authorized and gone through.

It says this product is still available so did my order just get jumped over somehow?

AoN shows it as PFS Standard. Which means, its allowed if you have access. So at this point we're waiting on an ACP boon or a chronicle that grants access.

Right, I know that much. I guess I'm more so wondering if they're going to put up a boon for it before the time is up on being able to rebuild for the APG options.

Because as is there is no requirement for it within the book and nothing in sanctioning really mentions that heritage at all.

Does anyone know if the Jinxed Halfling heritage is legal? It's uncommon and there's no boon for it but the archives of Nethys seems to imply that it's available to players somehow.

I was looking to rebuild one of my halflings to have that heritage instead since it fits his character a lot more.

I haven't played this yet but is there a reason Ziggy's going by male pronouns in this one's description? Cause everything I've seen says Ziggy's a host shirren. So is that just a typo in the description saying Historia-7 is "his" colleague or have I just missed something?

Otherwise, I can't wait to see to see what terrifying implications this has for two of my favorite faction leaders!

I think you're getting him and Chiskisk mixed up

No according to The Commencement introductions Ziggy is definitely a Host Shirren. Chiskisk also happens to be one as as well.

From the Commencement: "The Exo-Guardians do not currently have
a headquarters on Absalom Station, but their
leader, Zigvigix (LG host shirren soldier),
resides in the poor but trendy neighborhood
of Downlow."

So they are definitely a HOST Shirren

Hi there! I'm not usually super active here on the forums but I made a melee technosmasher and I'd like to drop in my two cents.

I went human, with 14 int, 16 str and 12 con then put my extra feat in on toughness. Since spellcasting doesn't need a free hand in starfinder there was no reason for me not to take a 2 handed weapon (greataxe which has a really high damage output for melee), the only thing it hurts is jolting surge which I can just one hand my weapon if I'm gonna shoot that off. I also one level soldier dipped for heavy armor and a better bab. My biggest issue is the low HP since that's still 5 per level. And yeah unarmed strikes being archaic make it kinda worth having a weapon.

Empowered weapon magic hack is a godsend since it lets you spend spell slots to get bonuses to attack rolls and extra dice to damage (and you can get it at level 2!) and the spell supercharge weapon is also really nice to have (they do stack btw though if you miss it's a real pain since it's 2 spells gone, also it's hard to set up both together but 1 is usually sufficient). And jolting surge gives you a flat +2 to the attack roll since I guess they don't expect you to have a high strength.
Another good investment is summon creature since robots are really tough and at level 2 they're small so they serve as a great flanking buddy.

This is assuming you don't want powered armor since powered armor gimps on strength if you already have a high strength score. So I'd make a very different build for that. But trust me, he's a bit of a glass cannon but my technomancer hits like a truck if I can get everything off.

I haven't tried this with a bear but presumably you could get similar stats. Only downside is being large makes you a much bigger target which does hurt you a lot since you'll be far behind on HP compared to most hitters in melee so I would great suggest toughness and some con to least give some stamina. Dex is good but not essential if you're going with heavy armor from what I've found. Hope this helps!
