throw a few levels into oracle and take the nature mystery though that you can get the bonded mount, which would be the tatzlwyrm.

Could work. Would at least give it some levels.

This thread is mainly about having a tatzlwyrm pet and not about kingmaker. Why was it moved there?

What's your kobold like?

He is a black scaled natural weapon fighting invulnerable rager barbarian. As the kobold's stats are very low and the group needed someone to do the up and personal fighting the gm allowed me the primitive template, increasing the physical stats at the cost of the mental ones.

So think of him as a Neanderthal Kobold who dreams of one day being a real dragon. And while he lacks magic he can unleash quite a fury for his size.

As to using the wyrm as a mount: The wyrm's base speed is only 30ft. So he is slower than the horses and even slower than I (or at least will be once I get a mithral breastplate).

But I think shadowkras is right, as long as the little guy doesn't join the fights he will not be targeted by attacks.

My cha is 8. Hard to get all stats high as a kobold.

I am not sure what happened to the other egg. I grabbed one and ran off with it, so to speak.

While exploring our land (Kingmaker AP) we encountered two Tatzlwyrms. After defeating them we searched their nest and found, besides some treasure hoard, something far more interesting: Two eggs. Being a descendant of true dragons myself I at one claimed to raise one of the little ones and hatched it. But what now? If I train/raise it (have not found out which sex it is) to follow me around it could be hurt, which I would not want. But should I let human parents care for my fosterchild?
I know, I should have given that some more thought but I had so very much to do with policing our newly founded kingdom (which it is not yet) and killing our enemies during the rages that tend to befall me during combat. So I spent to little time planning to be a good parent.

.....

Clearly the next steps largely depend on the GM. But as it took some real time for the little wyrm to hatch I guess he has some idea. But what should I do?
A tatzlwyrm is barely intelligent but understands my native language, draconic. It can inflict some acid damage which I am resistant enough to ignore, being a black scaled kobold. I could try to persuade/train the wyrm to be my mount. It will be large enough eventually. But even fully grown they are rather squishy.

I could ask my GM if I can take leadership at level 7 to make it my cohort. But having a low cha my leadership score will suck.

What should I do?

Anyways, Kingmaker seems like a good fit. A goblin has no place he can call home? Fine. He can make his own.

That's what I did. And while goblins are an ugly bunch so could one of them.

To go some more into detail:

mild Kingmaker spoilers:

As our group befriended the kobolds in the first part of kingmaker I thought playing one was a perfect fit for my new PC. For part 1 I was the GM and now our late fighter took over.
The group is rather big (6 players) and little organised. What they really lacked was a competent melee. Because of that the new GM allowed me to add the primitive template to my kobold invulnerable rager.

When a werewolf came to our nice little town only three of us were present and I was lucky being such a though little dragon for the beast could dish out some mean damage with his greataxe and bite.

I've built for natural attacks. And I'm looking forward to level 7 (long time still) when I get Noxious Bite.. And I can't even shorten the time needed because there is no class I could dip into to get one of the needed feats as bonus.

I'll be honest, I friggin' love kobolds, and it seems a lot of people do as well. I was wondering, have any of you had experience playing a kobold in pathfinder, or being in a party with one? What kind of character was it? Did your GM use the standard stat arrays or use homebrew ones? How did the party respond? Did it mess with your verisimilitude or anything?

I'm playing this one in Kingmaker. GM allowed me to add the primitive template to my kobold. It's a bit strong but as all the other play aasimars and such we thought it would not hurt too much.

If you think normal kobolds are strong you have never seen one of us primitive kobolds. Less cunning but much more mighty brawn. The stolen lands will tremble at my power.
