Background:
Two hundred years ago, there was a boy who brought shame to his Shoanti Tamiir-Quah (The Wind Clan) in northern Varisia. For he was peaceful and gentle in the midst of a proud warrior people. In the Shundar-Quah (The Spire Clan) he might have stood a chance. As it was, he was exiled from his tribe as a young man, and killed by a band of roving orcs quickly afterwards. Awakening in a new body in the midst of a city to the south, the young man took a new name, learning new powers and abilities. The ones he called "elders" among the secret society Elans realized his potential as a creator of both gems and matter, training him in their ways. Now a craftsman of crystal, with a wealthy but secret Elan patron, the youth calling himself Ioseph looks to make up for the mistakes of his past, and live life to the fullest.
Story Hook:
Ioseph after his "rebirth" was enrolled in Alalea's Academy of the Will and the Way, becoming a Psion (Shaper). He graduated and began looking to open a shop on Crystal Row. Ioseph's first, and almost his last, client was Ghazi ibn Al-Salah, who swindled Ioseph out of not only a fortune in his first shop, but nearly the favor of his patron family. The "partner" set Ioseph up in an "empty" building that turned out to be owned by the city and temporarily vacant. The young man lost his gemcutting shop in less than a week, being thrown out on the streets by the authorities. Ioseph must now prove himself worthy of future benefits and connections from his wealthy Elan patron, or capture Ghazi to redeem himself. Appearance:
Ioseph is an unassuming young man in his mid-thirties with a naive outlook. He has pale skin, brown hair with red streaks, an average size for a Human, and is light on his feet. Ioseph usually is wearing a thick pale shirt with brown trousers, a leather belt with belt pouches and a single dagger, and heavy boots with a backpack (explorer's outfit). His right hand has a thick gold signet ring on one finger. Always ready to help, the redhead lives simply, relying only upon himself after being burned in his first business "partnership".
