Specifically there is a Summoner who increased his caster level through a trait bonus. Example
Benefit: Pick a class when you gain this trait—your caster level in that class gains a +2 trait bonus as long as this bonus doesn’t increase your caster level higher than your current Hit Dice.
Using Magical Knack to increase his caster level to his max hit die if he takes 2 levels in something else.
Or
Picking for example Summon Monster I-III for the spells.
Using the Summoners Spell Like Ability to cast the summons wouldn't the Summons stay around longer than normal?
A third level summoner casts Summon Monster I as the Spell like ability, the Monster stays for 4 minutes instead of 3 because of Lore Seeker
Lore Seeker does not specify that it can not exceed the Caster level (mostly because you pick 3 specific spells) they would be cast as if 4th level instead of 3rd.
What I have found is that Spell like Abilities can be enhanced with Feats (Augmented Summoning, Spell Focus, Spell Penetration)
"Spell Focus, Spell Penetration and the greater versions of same // work just fine with spell-like abilities in addition to spells."
Another route to increasing the Spell level would also be Spell Specialization
Prerequisites: Int 13, Spell Focus.
Benefit: Select one spell of a school for which you have taken the Spell Focus feat. Treat your caster level as being two higher for all level-variable effects of the spell.
Every time you gain an even level in the spellcasting class you chose your spell from, you can choose a new spell to replace the spell selected with this feat, and that spell becomes your specialized spell.
Special: You can gain this feat multiple times. Its effects do not stack. Each time you take the feat, it applies to a different spell.
So would or wouldn't you gain an extended use of Summon Monster Spell like Ability through increases to effective caster level from feats or traits.
