Ikkaku is the youngest of three brothers, he was born in to nobility as a bastard, his father was a feudal Lord at war with a rival, he was trained from a young age in the way of the sword to serve his father and someday his brothers as a bodyguard, he was treated like scum by everyone except his oldest brother Ishida. During his 15th year his castle was besieged by his father's enemies who laid waste to the unprepared guard killing everyone, during the the conflict Ishida found his younger brother in his quarters away from the main castle and hid him away telling him to stay hidden no matter what, seconds later Ikkaku saw his brother cut down a moment that would haunt him forever, his brothers murderer was a westerner with long scraggly grey hair and a vertical scar through his left eye. As Ishida's body slumped to the floor Ikkaku let out a whimper, to his terror it was heard by his brothers killer who looked toward the closet where he hid, he thought that this was the end for him but the westerner simply smiled and then was gone. Ikkaku spent the next ten years studying the arts of war and dedicating himself to perfection. He worked as a sword for hire for a time to get enough money to cross the sea his goal to find the man who killed his brother and avenge him but also find out why he spared his his life. Ikkaku took some time adjusting to western customs and mannerisms but was determined to know his enemy. Eventually he grew fond of the land and its people and found himself in the employ of Professor Petros Lorrimor a kind and honourable man. Ikkaku served as his bodyguard for several years and came to think of him as the father he never had.
