Not really feeling the love for Jade Regent gang, chance a Reign of Winter might come my way so I'll hold out for that.
Been around 10 days and not a peep. My thoughts is end of the week at max? Would depend on what is proposed to be honest. Not really interested in a new character as such. Other thought is we run one-offs and take turns Dming?
The other option would be to look at running an established AP as is (well with any tweaks our new DM would care to dripfeed in?) I've not played the Shattered Star AP, and know naught about it... Just my 2 runes worth...

Seeing Vedic wave back, Hufsa casts him a withering glare and sets her stonefaced gaze back upon the assembled throng; Droskar's Toil this frivilous joy is tedious! Sooner I can find word of this regions legendary beasts and set upon their trail the better...
As she awaits the return of her quested children, Hufsa looks across the throng catching a view of her erstwhile companion Vedic, keeping vigil at the Inn. "See the Festival Hufsa... Breath it in! It's quite the experience!" that damned elf had said. Oh aye, we will have words over this... The brawny dwarf tips the elven mage a nod and a forced smile as she absent-mindedly grips the haft of her fearsome dragonheaded longhammer with whitened knuckles...
Make sense (given her abilities in the cold) that perhaps Vedic came to Kalsgard first to petition for aid. Husfa (seeking adventure and fame) was part of the group that retrieved the key? When it was recovered, Husfa remained with Vedic to see this saga out and follow her own fate's path...
Quite the odd couple - the savage elven sage and the dwarven warrior poet lol. Compliment each other well though! Perhaps they took a Linnormer trade-knarr down to Magnimar then made their way up the coast?
Hufsa is from Kalsgard in the Linnorm Kings realms... but regardless they could have travelled south together. Sounds a plan, perhaps it was Vedic who filled Hufsa's head with tales of legendary beasts such as the Sandpoint Devil, Murdermaw and Black Magga? As a warrior poet seeking her own Saga, such a place would be worthwhile accompanying Vedic to... He might also know of a sage who can provide lore on these epic monsters, so her Edda can ring true when she bests them! :)
DMB am presuming that Nótt - Hufsa's war pony has been stabled at this point. Have deducted coin for the food/mead errand for the children and for 3 days stabling for Nótt... Pretty sure our dwarven warrior poet is up to spec :)
Hufsa suffered the jostling crowd for as long as she could muster, before finding a knoll of high ground to take in the festivities; Torag's Beard these Southerners do like a festival! I’ll takke the open tundra and kald walls of the North any day... The sturdy dwarf leans against her massive hammer as she surveys the throng before her, before giving a sigh; Finding a sage amongst this will be like finding a warm welcome in Irrensin! Her keen eyes are drawn to several outlanders like herself, though unlike herself, and then to the performance of the Halfling bard, which draws a wry grin from the warrior poet; Quite the performer! Not the Edda that would gain favour in the lang-hus, but it has entertained the Southerners sure enough... Hufsa hails two young Sandpointers as they skip past; "Hoi.. you two! Would you be so kind as to find me some smoked fish amongst these stalls... and some Linnorm mead if they have any? No rush barnr... I'm not going anywhere..." She smiles awkwardly and flicks each of them a gold coin; "Run along then..."
Will get Husfa updated over the weekend - just spent a bunch of time updating her profile only for the interwebs to drop out! Grrrr. Yeah I also wondered about the bonus feat...

Hufsa will likely progress at 2/1 Bard/Fighter levels, so while not a front line meatshield she'll likely make a decent scrapper. She's not finished - please consider the profile as a placeholder for the time being as I build her crunch (the fluff is done though)... Would make quite an interesting party if they are sans "meatshield" as such. She seeks knowledge and rumour of these beasts and more, so she may make a name for herself in the world and the words of song and ode. If there is a Sage or one knowledgeable of these legends in Sandpoint, Hufsa will have come to seek them out. The festival is a mere distraction. What motivates them to do good deeds proactively, or at least oppose Evil while staying more or less neutral?: Hufsa is a driven young woman... She seeks fame and to make her name, and as such can be selfish and bullheaded in its pursuit. Or stick with the base?: Hufsa will continue to multiclass at the rate of 2 Bardic levels for every 1 in Fighter. Black Dow here again - scrap Olafr my earlier option above, as I did more crunch and fluff work he became a she, and she became a dwarf :) All-in-all I'm much happier with how this singer of sagas turned out... So take 2 and presenting Hufsa Járntunga of Kalsgard... As a wee aside GM Z do you allow Armoured Kilts? |
