Hru watches Galadar's perplexed expression at the locked door then calls upon Gorum, "This portal obstructs your servant and prevents your sword devouring the flesh of thine enemies! GORUM!!" He crashes his fist into the flat of the blade of his greatsword and it rings a single peal that reverbrates against the door in a reality warping haze. Casts Shatter to sunder the door. From prd:Saving Throw Will negates (object); Will negates (object) or Fortitude half; see text; Spell Resistance yes Shatter creates a loud, ringing noise that breaks brittle, nonmagical objects; sunders a single solid, nonmagical object;

Hru pauses briefly at the sound of others coming down the stairs, to let them catch up, then tries the door. He performs an intricate maneuver passing the overly large sword to his offhand as he tries the door with his right with a flourish. "Gorum, guide us to battle..."

I was hoping to see if there was a real window behind the illusion curtain, where a creature might have escaped or something. "All we can do now is a level by level search of the manor, and if anyone has a better plan, speak up...otherwise" Hru motions to one of the guards to follow and heads back down to the next floor moving towards the door on the left after decending the stairs. that's the north door on the east wall if up is north on the map

Sorry for holding back, but Hru's answer was to gut the nearest guard and I wanted to give people some chance at rp before I went past the point of no return Hru, catching the movement out of the corner of his eye yells "GORUM! For FOEHAMMER and ANDORAN!!" and leaps toward the window cleaving at the movement and window with the massive holy blade of Gorum! 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 for 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 6) + 4 = 12 Miss chance in case I was anywhere near, I usually play high is hit (tho it's weird after all those years of ad&d) 1d100 ⇒ 86

Hru's head weaves quickly back and forth checking for any sign of the creature, somewhat ignoring the guard's question. "Just stay back and let us do our work...the Baron.." Hru cuts off his speech sensing he could be going too far. Seeking a fresh grip on the greatsword he scans the room again looking for all the world like he may charge at any perceived threat. ready:IF a guard or any hostile moves toward him THEN Hru attacks w/greatsword

Abruptly Hru ceases shifting his weight from one foot to the other as if he's come to a decision. Calling on Gorum's aid he draws down divine power. channel postive(healing) 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7 drink in the hitpoints of Gorum "Gorum prepare us for battle!" Then turning to the others "There's no other way but to wait and I for one am NOT." Then moves down to door and readies to open it.

Galadar wrote: Completely out of character/metagame question: Galadar really wants to help the guards. Doing so might also garner us some allies. But I won't follow through if everyone else is against it. Thoughts? Hru wants battle, but in the grand scheme more allies means a greater force to overcome the Chelaxians (and thereby the greater battle)In a neutral fight he would always go with the underdog for greater glory to Gorum so that would be with the guards against the devil-spawn

Hru's eyes flick away from his intent on the room to Knotty. Holding the scroll up "Yes, this is what I had in mind" Taking the scroll he reads the words aloud, they appear to be an appeal to Erastil. He then says "May your blades find the heart" casts Lesser Resto on Eria 1d4 ⇒ 3

Hru pauses outside the chamber calling on our Lord in Iron. "AID ME! GORUM! BLOOD AND SOULS FOR GORUM!!" Casts Bulls STR on himself Turning to Liandra "I have nothing to return Eria to the battle...tomorrow I can ask Gorum again for such." With a sharp intake of breath he prepares to search the chamber.

Frustrated at not being able to get a crack at the monstosity and feeling the divine blade of Gorum wink out of existance, Hru does the only thing he can. "Gorum keep this warrior in battle!" he cries reaching out to Manfred's back. Cure Moderate wounds spontaneous cast for Zone of Truth (on Manfred) 3d8 + 4 ⇒ (4, 6, 2) + 4 = 16

Hru shrugs off the pain of the Baron's infernal attackand with a gutterral hoot that sounds very similar to "GOORRRRRUUUUMMMM!" he draws back the great battle blade with his off hand, flings a javelin at the Baron with his right STR surge (+2) Javelin 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 spiritual greatsword 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 for 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

If I'm not next to the beast then I'll: Hru shrugs off the nasty gash in his arm and taking a step back calls on Gorum. "Bring down the slain from among thy adversaries, they shall fall to rise no more!!" Hru casts Bless; +1 to everyone (friendly, that is) within 50' Spiritual weapon(giant glowing greatsword of force) attacke the Baron again 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 for 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Hru performs a chant to Gorum in gutteral tones "Lay thy hand on the neck of thine enemies, devour the flesh with thine sword.." as a ripple of divine energy coagulates next to the Baron in the form of a greatsword striking down. Spiritual Weapon(round 1 of 4), hopefully to disrupt further casting on his part! 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24 for (if hits) 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Manfred takes the 2 pts or Hru? -as you can see I've returned from the plane of shadow Hru's "nobody home" look finally passes as Manfred tumbles into him and they land in a heap. He immediately extricates himself and pulls himself to a standing, albeit deadly looking, position, sword at the ready and a prayer to Gorum on his lips. He nods to Manfred acknowledging that "these things happen".

Hru does his best to quickly bind, shackle, or tie, up the remaining guards with strips of their own clothing if necessary. He chuckles and consoles them "Don't worry boys, there's still time to die a glorious death in service of our Lord in Iron...just not today. Oh, and I'd consider rejoining the fight for freedom and stop kissing devil-tail" It was as much as he knew of the politics in the region so he thought he's let it fly while he had the chance. Hru then strides quickly to where the others are entering the room with the stairs. "Lord, show me" he exhorts then makes a sweep with the great battle-blade, unwholesomely close to everyone. Hru casts Detect Magic, paying special attention to the devilish bronze gargoyles

"Our Lord in Iron favors us, let us strike now while the Iron is hot!!" cries Hru from the forefront. "Lay thy hands on the neck of thine enemy, devour the flesh with thy sword!!" He chants in a low if forceful tone as he brings the greatsword around in an arc towards captain Blacklock. (another) Destructive Smite
if hits (+all threats confirmed for another round) 2d5 + 5 ⇒ (5, 4) + 5 = 14 EDIT: Sad Trombone
