FINALLY DONE! Save maybe for including info on Big Game Hunter attacks, attack stats for his daggers, that sort of thing. I used bonus ranks on bowmaking and weapon smithing, figuring that Hoban eventually became something of a survivalist nut as he learned to be a ranger. I put two bonus ranks into Profession (cook) figuring that between his Chelaxian nanny's raising of him, and wanting some small part of his survival existence to be pleasant, and even enjoyable (actually, he's come to enjoy outdoor living quite a bit), the man knows how to cook. Nothing too fancy, but he knows how to find good herbs and spices in the wild, and understands the basic preparation of many different meats and vegetables. Finally, I used two bonus ranks to pick up Chelaxian and Fey. I figure Chelaxian he was taught by his nanny, who figured it was important. And Fey he picked up from his first ranger teacher. There were probably a couple of languages he could pick up from this man, but he was taught Fey, so that Hoban could go right to the source (if available) when trying to understand problems in the forest or other outdoor situations. There was some talk upthread about Chelaxian being the same as Common. Did we get a final answer on that? I'll look. If it is, I'll switch that out for some other language that the ranger taught him.
"I don't know about divine right, but it has been my experience that civilization can replace its losses much quicker than nature. There may yet be room for civilization to expand for centuries to come without exhausting the resources nature provides, but in the battle between them, no quarter is asked, and none is given. And surely as hares multiply without restraint, so too do the so called civilized nations."
Fleaux Birchmantle wrote: Fleaux's brows crinkle and his laugh lines briefly disappear as a frown passes over his features "This choice of words, -tame this wild land- doesn't bode well for the natural cretures therin and I am bound by an oath to investigate such.....progress" he intones then handingthe note back, quips "besides I had no where better to go just now." "Opposing the expansion of civilization is a losing battle, Fleaux. You might make a difference for a time, but there are more of them than there are of you. Still, where civilization and nature come into conflict, it has potential to be disastrous for all sides. Perhaps we can prevent that outcome, at least."
So, I put a background up. I have all my stuff purchased, but I haven't put it up yet. I should be able to do that within the next hour or two. If you're waiting to see my equipment, the only other magical items I have are some potions and a Handy Haversack, and the rest is mundane stuff. Also, despite the "loner" tone of my background, I'm not opposed to being previously acquainted with any other member of the party. |
