Liberty's Edge

Is it fair to assume that we're traveling w/o Reis Sier?

Liberty's Edge

For the record, I am having a *riot* with the Social awkwardness playing out through Essua's character. I will probably tone it down a bit once we're out and moving, but I just wanted you all to know that It is my sincerest hope you're enjoying his awkward gauky phase. It's not a personality aspect I had envisioned for Essua until it just started coming out.

Here's a tip. I've figured out that life gets a lot easier if you hide stuff you've decided you're not interested in. The Hide Button is your friend.

I am trying to be less hesitant about just dotting first and asking questions later. I am also trying to build up a pool of character aliases to make it more likely I can slot in a needed party member.

I will keep at it, the fact is, the kludgey nature of the recruitment method here seems to be a kind of inelegant way of getting only those who are really, really interested into games.

Thanks for the advice.

@Broadhand I appreciate the solidarity. Have you come across The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge?

The magic knob goes to 11

The GM desperately wants the game to be high magic, but the players have all elected to play mele style because they are green and not 100 percent sure how the magic systems work. So to encourage magic use, pushbutton magic items abound. Unlimited use wands and scrolls? Sure we got those. Scroll of +3 winning? We have those too.

Ultimately, everyone ends up lugging around a sack full of souped up magic items and their swords and axes rust from disuse. Players end up getting more fun out of rolling drunken acrobatics checks at the tavern between dungeon runs.

I picked up a copy of The Beginner's Box about a month ago, and I am having a great time introducing my 9-year old and my wife to Tabletop Roleplaying Games.

So, the thing is, because I'm GMing for them, I am not getting to to play, so I was hoping that Playing by Post would be something I could get into.

Having lurked for a few weeks, and enjoyed reading through more than a fair amount of Online Gameplay threads, I continued to be baffled by the recruitment method used to connect players and games.

I've dug into the how-to threads, and I've made an effort to dot a few games that I thought were interesting... but I wonder why nobody seems to post Character in Search of Game threads.

Is that just not a thing that works? Or is it a thing that is frowned on?

Liberty's Edge

I find this fascinating.

I have a hardcover of the d20 modern sourcebook.
