Hetta looks to Greylan and says seriously, "Yes, we need to keep feeding -- 'Furry'? -- that's its main need right now. But they can't be kept as pets or companions, they're just too dangerous. There are people who buy cubs to train as guard animals. That may be the safest path for all, as owlbears in the wild are too much of a threat to hunters and trappers."
Hetta commands Hugh to heel. Crouching by the owlbear cub, she tries to recall what she knows of the creatures. "We still don't know what killed them." Knowledge - Nature
Hetta gestures at the corner whence the owlbear had come, and whispers, "Something's still back there."
Hetta approaches the body with Hugh guarding her. "She was already wounded -- what else is around here?"
At Hetta's command, Hugh lunges forward and clamps his jaws on the creature.
"The Red Death," Hetta whispers. "That poor boy." Then she starts on towards the ruined farmhouse, "coming?" "Yes, but be careful -- I think somebody's in there." Hetta alerts Hugh, as well, as they follow True.
Even though Hetta had endorsed helping the boy, she seems quite uncomfortable with the idea of the ongoing conversation and stays quiet.
Hetta, looking pale, says softly, "We should help him."
Hetta cranes her neck, peering about the room from the safe floor.
Hetta swallows. "I'm not sure I can make it across there. Is that where we're going?"
Hetta is happy to light Greylan's arrow.
True keeps close to the wolf,
Hetta is too concerned about having to leave Hugh behind with True to be much aware of what is up above.
Hetta smiles with genuine joy. "Of course, Kallista. He's big enough for both of us."
"Yes, good idea. I feel as though I'm starting to warm up a bit already. Thanks to you," Hetta adds with a blush. "If we start some hot drinks maybe the others will come back. "Greylan, how are you feeling?"
"I don't know," says Hetta softly, without meeting True's eyes. "Kallista blames herself, but we all thought it was a good idea. I'll have to see if I can think of some way to freeze it after we've rested."
Hetta looks troubled at Kallista's response, but is too drained to pursue the issue after Kallista walks away.
Hetta looks over at Kallista, looking concerned. "Kallista, come with us. You need to warm up, too," she says gently. "Hugh won't mind."
Hetta sits by where True is making the fire, clinging to the whimpering Hugh.
Hetta gasps and starts shivering uncontrollably as she stumbles away from the stuff, pulling a whining, shivering Hugh. Reflex (1d20 4=11)
Hetta and Hugh chase after the wizard. "Greylan, wait!"
Hetta and Hugh bring up the rear once more.
Mikel spent much of the time puffing out his cheeks and being bored. In between those moments he practised swordplay and made fun of the others (except Hetta, she's ok by him).
Hetta attempts to use her knowledge of the natural world and living things to speed True's recovery, but her lack of training reveals itself.
Hetta wakes up feeling much better, but is in no hurry to move on until after True recovers.
Hetta unloads her camp gear from Hugh's saddlebags and beds down early, soon after eating. "Let me know if there's anything I can help with," she offers, yawning.
"Well, at least no monsters . . ." Hetta offers feebly. She takes Hugh around the property to see if he reacts to any strange smells.
Hetta leads Hugh to the cylinder, ready to ascend.
"Hetta, can you walk or shall I carry you? Hugh can carry the Lady's weapons perhaps." "Thank you, Kallista, but I don't think I breathed in as much as True did. I'll be ok to get out of this place."

"Yes. Rest would help . . ." Hetta sits down again while waiting on the wizard.
"I'm not sure, Kallista. There are a few things I know I can do, like the wolf-shape and a little healing. Most of the time, though, I just hope for something that will help."
The second flame winks out in Hetta's hands. "I've never done that before," she whispers.
Hetta chants briefly and a small, bright globe of flame appears between her hands, seemingly without harming her. She looks for an opportunity and makes a throwing motion, hurling the flames at the creature. The moment they extinguish against it, another torchflame appears in her hand. Produce Flame Ranged Touch (including penalty for firing into melee) (1d20 2=16, 1d6 2=5)
"What -- what does it want?"
Hetta shrieks, and her hand goes to Hugh's harness.
"No -- eyes behind the statue! I saw them!" Hetta lifts herself to her feet and calls Hugh to her.
Hetta, sitting leaning against the wall, suddenly gasps and points at one of the statues. "Look! Eyes!" GM: Spoiler:
"Oh. Oh. I think I need to sit down . . ."
"Hugh's stronger than I am, even as a wolf. Let me try to get him to help."
